CHAPTER 13 :

I've slept for the whole day and now it's 7pm and I'm really hungry. I drape a red robe over me, as I head for the dinning room.

"My Highness, where to?" A servant bows infront of me. What a cliche! I'm not used to this, really. The thing I'm used to hearing is, “Photo with me please, Mr. Grey?” or “Autograph, please?” But this is a whole new level.

"Uh...To the dinning room." I mumble, uncomfortable due to his formal remark.

"Very well, my highness. Mr. Dark sent for you, to join him for dinner." He speaks.

"Did he, now?" I arch an eyebrow at him.

"Yes, my lord. Please follow me." He replies, as I nod at him. Finally, what may seem no less than a maze, I enter the dinning room.

I spot Dravon seated near the rear end of the table, playing with his wine glass. He's lost in his thoughts. I lean against the door, eyeing the object of concern.

"Waiting for permission, Mr. Grey? This castle is now yours too...and will remain so, for about 6 months." He looks at me with weary eyes.

"Yeah." I mutter, as I make myself comfortable in a seat, facing him. I am hungry. And, my head is spinning at the same time.

Dravon narrows his eyes at me and speaks, "You should've told the servants that you're head is spinning. You're unwell. They would've gotten you medication."

Huh? How does he know that I was feeling unwell?

"What?" I ask him, gaping.

"Umm..I mean, if you ever feel like you're sick, you can call the servants." He quickly modifies his sentence. What is with this guy? God knows.

"Yeah, I know." I say, with a mouthful of steak.

"I don't want you unwell, especially because you have to find clues to break the curse." He says, drinking the red liquid from his wine glass. Ouch.

"Yeah." I don't know what to say. Does he even know that there is something called “caring” about others without seeing your benefit? I don't see how can I ever expect that courtesy from him.

"I'll be going around the town after the council meeting, to search for possible clues." I annouce, sipping some red wine from my glass.

"What? No! You can't possibly, that's not safe—" His cools down his raised tone.

"That is safe." I cut him off, midsentence.

"No, to hell that's not! You got attacked by a vampire today…and, no, I can't let you go alone into the deep woods of the town." He puts his wine glass down with a slam on the table. Woah!

"What is it to you? Whether I'm safe or not?" I can sense that he's in a mood to ramble things out.

"What? Ofcourse you being safe means a hell lot to me!" He's furious. Why does it mean a lot to him?

"Why do you care?" I arch an eyebrow at him.

"I care obviously—...No, I mean, if something happens to you, who will I ask for help...I mean, about the curse?" He's not only a vampire master, he's even a master at manipulating meanings.

"I'm going. The decision is done." I speak, as I see anger flare up in his eyes. I insist on defying everyone.

"I'll come with you." He holds up his hands in surrender.

"No." I snap. He doesn't need to come for babysitting.

"That's not up for debate, Grey." He glares at me. Oh, it is, trust me.

"I'll be taking Alex with me." I reply, looking at him expectantly for an answer.

"What? Why the hell do you insist on defying me?" He presses his mouth into a hard line.

"The topic is shut, Dark. Good night." I rise up from the dinner table as I storm out of the room. I've had enough with his nuisense. And, I need to break the curse and break free of his contract.

This guy is a complete nuisense. Do psychopaths always look that hot? Not to mention that his intimidating presence pisses me off. And, I find him attractive — pissing me off even further. I'm not bound to listen to his ass.
