Chapter 5
Olivia
I finished my dance with Alexander. Even though it hurts, the decision to be his friend had worked, and for four months he hasn't shown me any disdain. At least once, after he was released from prison, he called to ask for another favor. This one involved getting the girl he liked out of her house, pretending to be college friends, all because her parents don't like the Colombian Russian.
"I owe you one, Liv."
"It was nothing. Besides, Andrea seems like a very nice girl."
"None of that, don't try to set me up with anyone. She's just a woman I sleep with, nothing more." I blushed, and he mocked me. "Sorry, I forgot, you're a virgin, chaste and pure." I grimaced at him.
The song ended, but before I reached the table where my friends were waiting, I saw my sister arrive in a fury.
"Tell me, how do I repay the favor?"
"I want to go to one of your fights, or one you guys are in." He became serious.
"Do you want the whole family to be mad at me and for Uncle Michael James to cut off my balls?" I laughed. "And as a bonus, Adrian, cut off my precious dick."
"How rude you are!"
Maybe I was digging my own grave, but once I made the decision to be best friends, we became inseparable. For now, I was happy with that.
"You're my friend, this is who I am. I don't express myself this way in front of my parents."
"That's how you can repay me for playing matchmaker."
"How are you supposed to manage getting lost tomorrow night?"
"Just give me the address, I'll be there."
"Your brother will be there."
"Then I'll hide from him."
"Where did this bold new woman come from? She doesn't fit your image of a virgin, chaste, and pure."
"Let's just say I want to stop being one. Introduce me to your friends who aren't family." Her face changed. My circle is only family, classmates, daddy's and mommy's little boys.
"Not in your dreams, don't drag me into your stories. Don't cross the line."
"I can do whatever I want with my life."
"Not that I know of. If that's your intention, I'm not taking you anywhere."
"Okay. I'll wait for the address tomorrow."
"You're going to get me in trouble, Liv."
"And since when have you been afraid of them?"
I winked at her, walked over to the table where Madison, Charlotte and my sister looked like they had met the devil himself.
