CHAPTER 5 :
When I finally regain my senses, my eyes had to adjust to the dimly light surroundings. Ugh, where am I?
The last thing I remember is getting a tranquilizer shot. For how many hours have I been out?
When I finally open my eyes to the furthest, I find the place to be a damp prison cell! What the fuck? Who put me in here!?
I lift myself up from the hay straw filled rag, as I brush the dirt off my clothes. This place is literal hell. With metal bars aligned against the strong door, I can try to see what's happening.
A guard suddenly spots me consious, as he runs off to the other end of the corridor. Why?
Jamie is still out, and is in the same filthy cell as I am. Water is seeping through the roof, as it falls on the damp floor and the whole cell is only lit by two fire torches. No electricity! Nothing!
Abruptly, I feel something approaching me. Something dark and evil — the same feeling I had when I first landed in the railway platform of this condemned town. I should have never come here for all that I care!
I hear footsteps approaching towards my cell, as a man finally stands infront of the room. All the guards placed for eyeing the other cell stand up in a jiffy, as they all unitedly bow infront of that mysterious man.
I can't quite see his face, due to the light source being extremely low in the whole damn area. What does he want? And why are all those men bowing infront of him? Who is he?
"Daemon Grey, I'm very sorry to bring you here like this, but you left me no other option." The smooth masculine voice speaks.
"Oh yeah? Really? What about the fact that a vampire tried to attack me in the middle of the night? And now you're behaving like a full fledged lunatic by kidnapping me!" I can barely contain the anger in my voice.
That's when the man comes closer, and stands right infront of me as he and I are only seperated by the prison door.
His facial features are noticeable now. He has dark red eyes, a sharp chieseled jaw line with his brown hair, flipping over to a side. His plump reddish pink lips, and a deathly pale complexion, has it all for any person to swoon over him. Oh, he is a demi god.
He's clad in a blood red overcoat, with a black waistcoat underneath it, and pitch black pants. Maybe, I actually like that style.
"Now, if you're done checking me out, then shall we arrive to the moot point of discussion." He smirks at me. What a nerve!
"Proceed." I snap at him.
"Now you see…" He stops mid sentence, as my jaw pops open on the floor and my mouth is left agape by a thought.
The similarity between him and the vampire I killed is undeniably strong! That same complexion, the same shade of eyes, the same colour of the lips! Oh my god! He's a vampire!
"You're a vampire! Holy shit!" I am more than surprised and I see a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"Beauty with brains huh? How observant of you. I'm the vampire prince, Dravon Dark." He pretends to bow down infront of me.
GET ME OUT OF HERE NOW!
"So, you killed a member of my clan...no sorry, of my family and you ought to be punished, Mr. Grey." He runs a hand through his hair. Punished? Me? Bullshit.
"It was self-defense! He fucking killed our friend! Stop being that fucking partial for fuck's sake!" I scream at the top of my lungs.
His red eyes delve deep into mine, as I hold the intensity of his unwavering gaze.
"Language." He growls at me. I'm unfliching, I'm not bound to follow his orders. Who does he think he is?
"LANGUAGE!" He shouts at me, as all my self-confidence ebbs away.
"Pardon, sir." I find myself apologizing before I know it. What has gotten into me?
"Good. Now that you've killed a member of my family, your friend will die, that guy, I mean." He points towards Jamie. No!
"No! Don't please! Don't!" I request him with pleading eyes, but I can't just seem to melt his stone cold heart.
"And, you'll be imprisoned for life." His voice is chillingly quiet.
"You can't do that with me!" I shouted at him, hoping he'd lose his calm demeanor.
"If I do, who will you call? The Prince?" He smirked at me, and he won.
"Please, you know I killed him in self defense." I was sobbing by then. Jamie is too precious for me to lose.
"Okay, I will spare both of your lives but you need to agree to my deal." His eyes glistened dangerously and that's when I knew that I was in trouble.
