CHAPTER 15 :

I close my eyes, knowing my death is near, but Alex catches me just before I was about to hit the ground.

"Woah! Easy, there. You gave me a real scare!" He exclaims.

"Sorry, I'm such a mess. And, thanks for catching me." I mutter an inapt apology.

"No, it's fine. You're safe, and that's what matters at the end." He looks at me with dreamy eyes as he pulls me closer to him. Uh...I let him have his way.

He tilts my chin to face him, as his lips move closer to mine. I close my eyes, as I feel the gentle touch of his lips. I grab his hand, as I return the kiss. When we break away, he smiles at me. This kiss was nothing like the one I had with Dravon.

This one was tender, loving and gentle whereas Dravon's was aggressive, hungry and desperate. Huh, why am I even thinking of that cold hearted son of a bitch, when I'm with Alex?

"Umm..sorry, if you didn't want to do it..I shouldn't have done that....you're married to Dravon." He shakes his head.

"Uh, it's okay. And, me and Dravon have nothing between us anyways. It's a contractual marriage, which I can break free off, once I find the witch to break the curse." I try to reason out with him.

We're looking at eachother, expectantly, when a sickening crunch on a concrete wall, distracts us. Someone is surely here.

"Did you hear that?" I frantically ask him.

"Yep. It sounded like, someone punched a wall, and broke off a part of it." He replies, furrowing his brows.

He and I stand infront of the walls of the castle. It's dark, but atleast, I can still feel things. I trail my hand along the wall, as my hand land onto what may seem like, a broken off part.

"Alex, look here, this part of the wall is broken off!" I exclaim, as he comes rushing by.

"Oh jesus, you're right. But, it's too much to be done by just a human. It has to gotta be a vampire or a werewolf. But, my pack is the only pack here, and the members don't wander about at night, unless I give them the permission." He examines the wall.

"Uh...." I say, concerned about who this person might be and what does he or she want?

"What is it?" He tilts my chin to face him in the dim moonlight.

"When I was sleeping in my room, which was about half an hour ago from now, I felt like someone was watching me. And now...this." I reply, as my fingers feel the damaged part of the wall.

"Well, you definitely didn't feel things. Someone was with you, and is currently now with us. But, I'll keep you safe, I promise." He reassures me as I force a smile.

"Let's go snooping!" He declares, like a boy scout on a mission. I giggle at him, as I nod and walk with him into the deeper woods.

The castle has scanty woods nearby, and I still feel like someone is behind me. But, I don't care. Let him or her follow us.

We switch on our flashlights, as we examine the woods for any fresh blood marks or body parts. After about an half an hour of imvestigating, both of us found nothing suspicious.

"This area is clear. Dravon Dark's clan hasn't been doing anything out of the laws." He annouces, as I nod.

"Okay, so the areas left to search are - Spencer King's, Olivia Parker's and Thomas Avery's. We leave tomorrow for Olivia Parker's estate." He proceeds.

"Sure thing. Same timming," I add and he agrees.

"Now, Daemon, let me lead you back to the castle." He touches my hand, and I flinch. I don't know what I feel for him, it's too early.

"Sorry." He lets go of my hand, seeing me uncomfortable. We walk back towards the castle, as I carefully climb up to my room, by clutching the satin sheets. As I'm near the window, I place by leg inside the room, over the window, and I do the same with another leg, and pull myself up.

I wave Alex goodbye, as he leaves and I turn back to my room. Woah! It's dark in here. I remember switching on the lamp before I left. Someone's surely been here. And, abruptly, I see a super fast movement near the edge of my bed.

Or not...and probably is still here.

"Welcome, Daemon Grey." The voice speaks up with a tone of mockery and tinge of anger from the pitch black atmosphere, and I recognise it at once.

Shit! It's Dravon.
