CHAPTER 11 :
I hear him calling me, "Daemon, wait!" He vamp speeds and suddenly, he's right infront of me.
"Move away. I need to go back and start the investigation about the curse." I start walking away again, not glancing back.
Yet, he's managing to keep up with my pace.
"Listen to me, Daemon." He pulls my hand, as I turn to face him.
"No. You listen to me. First of all, you can call me Mr. Grey. Secondly, I can't wait to get rid of you. Remember what you said? The earlier I find the witch, the earlier I get rid of you?" I snap at him.
And, that's when I see an expression wash over his face. Regret? Grief? Sadness? What?
"Sorry to be unprofessional. Forgive me, Mr. Grey. You can start the investigation." He says, returning back to the unfeeling man which he really is.
"And, for further clarity, let me just tell you, that I will never love you. So, be advised, and don't worry." I growl, pointing a finger towards him, as I take off with my car.
The driver takes the car in through the deep woods, as he suddenly stops the car. Woah!
"Why have you stopped here? Keep going." I order him as he turns back and looks at me.
His eyes have suddenly started to glow with a dangerous shade of red. Oh shit! A vampire! Bile rises in my throat as I blanch.I get out the car as quickly as I can, and start running aimlessly through the woods.
The creature grabs me from behind and with the monstrosity of his strength, he pins me up against a tree.
His hands are wrapped around my neck, and I feel the world slipping away. I can't breathe...Stay awake, Grey!
"How about a werewolf bite...." I hear distant noises, as the world around me goes black. Silence.
"Hey, Daemon!" I hear a faint voice, as I try to look up to see who he is.
When I finally open my eyes, I see a man leaning against a tree beside me.
"Who are you?" I ask him, clutching my head. It hurts.
"I'm Alex Connor. The Alpha of the werewolves group here." He says, as he helps me to sit up, and brushes some dirt off my clothes.
"Nice to meet you, Alex. And, where's that vampire who was after me?" I scan the forest in search of him.
"He's dead. I killed him. Thank god that I stepped in the right time, or else..." He trails off.
"Thanks for saving my life. I owe you one. But, I need to get home." I tell him, as he nods and helps me stand up.
He has brown hair, which is slightly longer than my hair length which is swept to the right side of the scalp. His eyes have a tinge of yellow, and that's because he's a werewolf. He is about 5'11" with a well built physique. He's handsome. Quite handsome.
I try to stand up, but then my legs give away. Damn, I'm really a damsel in distress.
"You can't walk. Let me carry you." He chuckles, as he scoops me in his arms.
"Where's your house, Daemon?" He asks.
"The castle of the Vampire Prince, Dravon Dark." I speak, as Alex pales at my answer. Oh, the usual werewolf-vampire rivalry.
He gives me a slight nod, as he deposists me in his bike and races through the woods.
After some time, we're infront of our destination and I try to get down from the bike, but he shakes his head.
"Don't. You sprained your ankle. I'll carry you." And without waiting for a reply, he scoops me up in his arms again.
The guards surrounding the huge ivory doors of the castle, rush inside the palace after they see me. And shortly after, Dravon steps in. His eyes fall directly on Alex carrying me in his arms, and he scowls.
"The Alpha of the group, how nice to meet you!" He gives Alex a fake, plastered smile.
"Dravon Dark, the prince, nice to meet you as well." I see Alex forcing a smile.
"Hmm…, so what are you doing with my husband?" He narrows his eyes towards Alex. What is this?
"Husband?" He blinks, not quite understanding.
"Daemon, get down from there." He points towards me in Alex's arms.
"No. He won't, he's hurt. A vampire attacked him in the way, and he sprained his ankle." He says, as he stomps inside the castle.
"Daemon's room is towards the left." Dravon speaks, seething. What is he so fucking angry about?
Alex enters my room, after he pushes open the door, and gently puts me down on the bed. Finally, some welcome rest.
