Chapter 5
“Is that how it is?”
“Yes. The two of us can sort it out. For now, I’ll go check on Mark first. He seems to have taken quite a hit.” I winced at what he said. “You can go inside now to start the treatment, Ma’am…”
I swallowed hard.
Will I be okay in there?
It seemed Mr. Harry noticed my concern because he chuckled lightly.
“Come on, Thaeddus is fine. Just don’t do anything to get on his nerves and you’ll be okay.”
I suddenly froze.
What does he mean by that?
I heard him say goodbye and leave in front of me, but I remained frozen in place. It felt like my brain hadn’t processed what he said yet.
What does he mean? So, if I do get on his nerves, will I get hurt?
I sighed deeply.
Why didn’t I expect this? The pay is substantial, so it’s bound to be a tough battle for the money. I can’t back out now since I won’t get paid if I don’t finish today.
I have to get through this. No backing down.
It’s just today, Lavinia. You can do it. Just do anything that satisfies Thaeddus, and you’re done. You won’t see each other again.
I glanced at the door of Thaeddus's room and suddenly felt disheartened.
There’s no turning back now.
After a few moments of staring at the door, I walked closer to it.
I knocked. “Can I come in?”
No one answered.
I sighed before gently opening the door.
I gulped when I saw him sitting on a single bed. He had his arms crossed and was looking at me blankly. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, and he didn’t seem too intimidating based on his expression now.
He looked calm.
“Are you ready to start?” He surprised me by speaking first. I nodded. “I can do this naked, right?”
I nodded again. “Ah, yes, that’s fine. Just lie down when you’re ready. I’ll just prepare what I need…”
I placed my things on the empty table there and got everything ready.
Wow, I could really feel the awkwardness with him. He sounds casual, but I still felt nervous. I didn’t want to let my feelings distract me right now, so I needed to maintain my composure. I preferred to focus on my job so he wouldn’t get annoyed.
I can’t afford to make a mistake.
After organizing my things, I looked over at him.
He was lying down and waiting for me seriously.
“Uh, do you have any specific concerns before I start?” I asked.
His lips twitched as he looked away, boredly. “Nothing. Just do your thing.”
I nodded and began my work.
I do massage treatment—not just any ordinary one.
While I was doing my job, he had his eyes closed, so I wasn't too nervous or uncomfortable. And with every touch of my hand on his body, I couldn't help but admire it.
His body is on another level. Among all the clients I've worked with before, it's rare to have men come to me, but no one can compare to how beautiful his body is.
Maybe one of the reasons he got into such great shape is his current passion. He probably chose to train not just for fighting but also for himself.
I raised my eyebrows when I got to his shoulder.
His skin is beautiful. It looks like he really takes care of it. If he were to get any cuts during training, I bet they would heal properly without leaving any scars.
After all, it's different when you're an all-star. You need to take care of yourself not just for your own sake but also to look good in front of the fans.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I can't deny that...
He's just so ridiculously handsome!
His looks are no joke. He's incredibly good-looking--
I slipped and almost hit my face on his!
If I hadn't regained my balance quickly, my face would have definitely collided with his!
I swallowed hard.
I slipped because I was startled to see him looking at me. I thought he had his eyes closed! His looks completely distracted me and made me lose my posture!
Now, my face was uncomfortably close to his. He was upside down from my perspective since I was near his head, but I couldn't deny that his eyebrows were furrowed now, surprised by what had just happened!
I quickly stood up and moved to a different position so I could see him better.
"Hey—" he said.
In my nervousness, I immediately bowed my head. "Sorry! I didn't mean to! I just got startled! My mistake, I'm so sorry!"
"You need to be more careful—"
"Forgive me, Sir!! I really didn’t mean it!"
How embarrassing!
I couldn't lift my head because of the shame! I was so distracted that now I'm completely flustered!
Suddenly, I remembered what Mr. Harry had said. Shoot! How annoying!
'Come on, it's fine. Just don't do anything to get on Thaeddus's nerves and you'll be okay.'
Crap! I definitely get on his nerves! I'm doomed!
Is this it? Is he going to hurt me? Am I going to end up like that colleague he beat up? Please, don’t hit me!!
"What the hell are you crying for?!"
I covered my mouth and looked up at him.
"Just be careful and hurry up. I'm not doing anything that should make you cry." He huffed and closed his eyes again.
"S-Sorry..." was all I could reply.
I quickly approached him and started working again.
I wiped away the tears that I hadn’t even noticed I'd shed.
Wow, he's really scary! So embarrassing! I even cried!
I truly thought he was angry about what happened. I messed up! Thankfully, he didn’t seem too angry about my foolishness.
After a few hours, I was already done.
"I hope you've enjoyed the treatment today. Thank you for your patience, Mr. Levesque..." I said casually.
He stood up and stretched his arms. "Quite nice," he replied. He seemed satisfied with my treatment, so that made me feel good.
I was so focused on my work for him that I was happy to see he wasn't disappointed. I was scared of making another mistake. It was so embarrassing.
I just wanted this day to be over. I could hardly wait to leave.
"Thank you. It's not that bad," he said.
I gave a half-hearted smile. "Thank you too. I’ll talk to Mr. Harry; I'm leaving now..." I said as I quickly headed for the door to escape the suffocating room with him.
A few weeks later.
"Take care, Kio. Study hard, okay?"
"Yes, big sister! You take care at work too! I'm off!"
"Be careful. I love you!"
"I love you!"
I closed the apartment we were staying in.
After my VIP treatment with Mr. Levesque, I got a chance to secure this apartment for Kio and me.
