CHAPTER 6 - DILEMMA
Celine's POV
I stepped out of the pack house with no destination in mind and walked towards the runway that was heading towards the town. Unlike the Blackcrest pack house, the Ashclaw pack house was just a two story building with the ground floor consisting of the sitting room, the dining room that is connected with the kitchen and the remaining rooms were for omegas working in the pack house. The first floor was for Alpha Rowan's right hand man (beta) and his mate, Alpha Rowan's study and the remaining rooms were reserved for visitors while the last floor was reserved only for the Alpha. No one was allowed to be there except on the Alpha's instructions. It is believed in the pack that the higher the floor where a wolf slept, the higher the ranking of the person. The entrance consists of a wide runway decorated with a pool at the middle of the compound and some patterned flowers were planted by the edge of the building giving it an exclusive look. The parking lot was on the left side and there was a little garden beside it. The garden wasn't as big and beautiful as the one of the Blackcrest pack but it was reasonable.
I ran weakly on my heels while dragging my gown to avoid sweeping the floor and making me fall. I stopped running when I had got out of the pack house surroundings and started walking slowly as tears streamed down my eyes. I continued crying while walking and didn't realize when I reached the highway.
“Get out of the road, you drunk”, someone screamed angrily from his car.
“Ahhhh!”, I exclaimed as the force of the wind coming from the car pushed me backward violently.
“Next time, I won't hesitate to run you over”, the voice sneered angrily with every word fading away from the distance.
I held my chest and felt my heart pounding as the thought of being ran over by a car hit me.
“Damn it! I need to calm down and ease off my pains”, I thought to myself.
Wiping my tears,I waved frantically to the moving cars on the road and after a while, a taxi stopped in front of me.
“Hello ma'am, where are you heading to?”, the driver asked politely.
“Do you know any good clubs nearby?”, I asked him.
He looked at me thoughtfully and replied after some time.
“Ma'am, there are no nearby clubs but there's one located around the borders of the pack. It's a good club but it's a bit far from the pack territory”, he replied.
“Do you mind me taking you there, ma'am?”, he asked.
I thought for a moment and responded.
“Sure”.
“It costs about 30 grand ma'am”, he hinted.
“That's not a problem, just drive me there”, I said quickly while settling into the back seat and he drove off.
The city had a beautiful night view as the clouds were dark and the moon half hidden under them. The colourful streetlights, billboards and TV charts made the night lively and beautiful, making me face the window, taking it all in and feeding my eyes as much as possible.
The car came to a halt at the entrance of a very big building that had loud music playing from the speakers.
“Ma'am, we are here”, the driver said politely and turned off the car.
“Thanks”, I said, stepping out of the car while handing him some bank notes after which he took it, turned on the engine and drove off.
I was checked by the two bouncers at the entrance and allowed in after some time. The entrance of the club was jammed packed making it difficult for me to enter freely and music blasting from the speakers could make your head spin but I cared less about it as I made up my mind to get wasted tonight. I struggled to walk properly in the midst of the congested crowd and made my way to the dance floor which was the center of the club. People were dancing, rocking each other and practically making out on the dance floor making the air filled with scents of arousal of horny wolves.
“Ewww”, I sneered covering my nose with my palm while scanning the place.
The club house was very big and lived up to its reputation as the largest and most popular club in the pack. Coming into the place, there was a massive space on the ground floor which would have been more obvious if not for the large number of people in it already. Walking straight, you will get to the main dance floor where the DJ and several dancers are. Opposite the dance floor by the left is a dark lounge reserved for the Alpha. The lounge is where the Alpha, beta and important guests stay whenever they come to the club. At the right hand side is the bar.
“Hmmm, the bar”, I thought heading towards it.
“Hello ma'am”, a deep masculine voice greeted me and there stood a very handsome young man who was the bartender. He was around 5’9 and had a striking face card. His blue eyes complimented his look and his jet black hair was styled in loose curls falling above his shoulder making him so breathtaking and hard to resist. His shirt barely covered his well toned abs that were practically calling me to touch making me drool.
“Ma'am”, he called out to me while clearing his throat, awkwardly snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Holy shit, how long have I been daydreaming?”, I thought, closing my eyes in embarrassment.
“Yes”.
“What would you like to take, ma'am”, he asked politely.
“Can I have the strongest drink you have today?”, I asked.
He raised his head, stopping what he was doing and shot me a questioning look before answering.
“Okay ma'am, I will get that for you shortly”, he replied and got busy mixing some drinks.
After a while, he handed me a glass of drink.
“Thanks”, I muttered.
I gulped the glass down at a go and felt a slight headache and an after bitter taste.
“Easy ma'am”, the bartender said with concern.
“It's fine, another glass please”, I responded.
I really wanted to forget about Rowan, Ivy, the pack and everything that happened that day and I knew that alcohol will help me do just that and make me free.
He passed me another glass and continued attending to other people. I sipped this one to savor the taste of the drink. It bit my tongue and cheeks and butt my throat, typical alcohol effects.
After having around three glasses, the alcohol started taking effect on me. My head felt lightweight, my body became numb and my legs wobbled when I tried getting up.
“Another glass please”, I signaled to the bartender.
He seemed to know that I was requesting for another but pretended not to hear me at all and it got me irritated under the influence of alcohol.
“I said, another glass please”, I said a bit louder.
“Ma'am, I can't, I …”
“I said another”, I cut him off already pissed off.
