CHAPTER 3 - ARGUMENT

Zayn's POV(Blackcrest pack)

I stirred lazily on my bed as the sun rays hit my face. “Damnnn it! I forgot to close the windows properly yesterday”, I cursed within myself.

“Uhhhhh”, I groaned as I stood up from the bed and headed to the bathroom.

How can I forget that I'm the Alpha of a large pack with much responsibility. I wouldn't blame myself though,I was too tired after yesternight’s meeting that I slept off without eating dinner. I took my bath and went to my closet hurriedly to dress up cause John has tried to mind link me severally but I cut him off.

“Heyyy John, what's up?”, I asked causally through the mind link while looking for clothes to wear.

“Thank goodness,I have been trying to reach you but you've cut me off”, he replied with a sigh of relief.

“I was very tired and didn't need any disturbance”, I said to him.

“I understand, Alpha but there's a situation”, John replied to me.

“ What situation?”, I asked with a voice filled with curiosity.

“Luna, your Mum wants to see you,I told her you were busy but she's throwing a tantrum and insists on seeing you”, John replied filled with concern.

“What does she want?”,I grumbled to myself.

“It’s fine,John; I will see her meanwhile where are you guys?”.

“In your study”, John replied.

“You will see me in 20 minutes”, I said.

“Okay, Alpha Zayn”, John replied in an official tone and with that I cut off the mind link.

After a long search for clothes, I settled for a black corporate trousers,a grey t-shirt tailored with a black loafers. I undid the first two buttons of the shirt and styled my hair in a gent old money. Coming out of the closet,I went straight to the mirror in my room.

“Damnnnn, I'm very handsome”, I told myself winking seductively. I took my time admiring myself that I forgot my appointment with my mum.

“Uhhhhh”, I groaned.

“Being an Alpha is not for the weak. I can't even have my own personal time”, I grumbled.

I left my room and headed to the study where I could hear the bickering between John and my mum through my Alpha's enhanced hearing.

As soon as I entered the study,it fell silent as everyone turned towards my direction.

“Alpha Zayn”, John and his mate, Cassy greeted while bowing slightly as a sign of respect.

I waved at them in response and turned towards my mum who stood up from the executive chair in front of my desk when I arrived.

“Ohhh you little boy”, she called me as she reached me and rubbed my hair as if I was a little boy.

I hated that alot and have complained severally about it but to no avail rather she will always reply with, “you are still my little boy. Don't forget I gave birth to you”.

It's not like she was tall;I was much taller than her but somehow she always makes sure to do that. Now,my perfect hair is ruined.

“Uhhhhh”, I rolled my eyes at the thought of that.

Mothersss!!!

“You requested to speak with me, mum”. “Any problem?”, I asked, attempting to stop her from what she was doing and it worked.

“Yes son,I have something important to discuss with you and I would love it if it's just both of us”, Mrs Sophia;Zayn's mum replied.

I signaled to John and Cassy who understood and left us.

“We are alone now, I'm listening”, I said turning to my mum.

“Sonn, you are getting older by the day and time isn't by your side”, My Mum started.

“I thought we've had this discussion, Mum”, I replied, visibly irritated.

“And we will have it over and over again till you settle down”, she countered.

“How will I settle down when I haven't found my mate. I can only settle with her”, I said to her as anger was swelling in me.

“You've been searching for a long time or do you want to grow old and rule without a Luna by your side?”,she asked.

“Uhhhhh, but you are a Luna, mum”,I argued.

“And I will not be here for long”, she countered, raising her eyebrows.

“Ahhhh”, I sighed as I was tired of the whole bickering.

“So, what now?”, I asked with an irritated voice.

She smiled slightly thinking she had won.

“That's my boy, this is what you were supposed to ask before arguing”.

“In my opinion,I think you should choose someone to be your Luna from one of the high ranking girls that swim around you”, she suggested.

“What do you mean?”, I said, not liking a bit of where this was heading.

“Common son, don't act dumb. I mean you should choose a Luna from the Alpha's daughters that swim around you. There are so many, allowing you to have options”, she replied.

“Mum,I have told you several times that I'm not interested in them. Moreover,most of them are not even Luna material”,I grumbled.

“Then, you will watch me choose someone for you”, she responded in an official tone.

“You can't do that, Mum”, I snapped at her, barely holding back my anger from exploding.

“I'm your mum”, she countered back.

“And that doesn't give you any right to decide how to make my Luna or not. Did Dad's mum do the same to him? Did his mum force you on him?”, I asked as my eyebrows drew together in a tight line and when I didn't get an answer, I continued.

“So, why do you want to do that to me? I'm an Alpha for goodness sake not some little boy you decide what to do for”.

My mum was silent for a while trying to process what happened and I felt guilty for snapping at her like that but she was getting on my nerves lately; this was the only way to voice out my opinion to her.

“Ahhhh”,I sighed while sitting on one of my executive chairs facing my desk. I have really had enough of this pointless argument.

After how long God knows,my mum snapped.

“You are still my son even if you are the Alpha of the biggest pack and if you can't make a simple decision on your own,I will do that for you”.

With that,she left the study in rage banging the door behind her.
