Chapter 2

Beatriz Del Valle POV

I am currently choosing what to wear for Jho and I's supposed date. She came home at around 8 PM last night. She said the her friends invited her to roam around, of course as her best friend, I have the right to sulk right? I was worried about her. There was no text or call from her. I was a little hurt and it seems unfair that I always ask for her permission or I always update and she never does the same. Yet she still demands from me.

"Bei, be happy." I whispered to myself as I look at the mirror. Johana wants us to date as a peace offering for what happened yesterday.

I immediately went to school to fetch her. She even texted me asking where was I. I smiled at the thought of her being bored in her Math class. She really hates Math subject. She hates numbers yet she loves counting her money.

I saw her waiting outside their classroom while staring at her phone.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Oh love!" She exclaimed when she saw me.

I frowned. "Love? What love? You're inlove with someone? Hmm?"

"What? No! I was just surprised that you're here... I don't know why I said that."

"Really? Maybe you're just inlove... Tell me Johana, you like someone?"

She rolled her eyes on me. "No way! Ew! I have my priorities now and lovelife is not a part of it. Volleyball, studies, and you, my best friend will always be my priority."

"The heck? Seriously?" I asked trying to hide my romantic excitement because of what she said.

"Seriously? That's your reaction to what I said? That's it?" She asked and rolled her eyes again.

"Give me your bag." I told her. She instantly give it to me.

"Where will you date me?" I asked her. She held my hand while we're walking.

"I want some streetfoods. But if you don't like---"

"Sure. Let's go." I cut her statement off since it's nonsense. She will just talk about how rich I am and how picky I am on food. Tss.

I really want to tell her that anywhere is fine with me as long as she's with me. But of course, I don't have the courage to tell her that since she knows I'm not that clingy to say sweet words like that.

"Really? You sure you'll eat streetfoods with me?"

I nodded. She laughed and walked faster while holding my hand. She's very excited and I'm happy seeing her that way. We got out of the university and went to a food park where we can eat a lot of street foods. Johana immediately went to a food stall... barbeque stall to be exact.

We started eating... I am not really a fan of streetfoods but I'm actually enjoying it right now because of Johana. Whenever I'm with her, she makes life so easy and simple for me. Maybe that's one thing that I love about her. She's a low maintenance person, she appreciates little things and I think I'm starting to have the same kind of energy that she has.

"Bei... can I ask you something?"

I nodded. "Sure."

"Why don't you say yes to Thirdy? Why did you make him stop courting you?"

I was a bit shocked of what she asked since it was a long time ago when Thirdy courted me. Thirdy is a basketball player in our university.

"Why ask?"

"I don't know... I was just curious--Hey! Why don't you just answer my question?" She frowned. I laughed. She looks defensive.

"Because he is not my type."

"That's it?!"

"Hmm... Madeline does not like him too." I added.

She nodded... "So what if I'm the one who ask you not to entertain your suitors... would you follow me? I mean... honestly, I don't want you to have a boyfriend right now. I feel like this is not the right time for that."

I really want to laugh at her. If she only knew that I really don't have any plans on getting a boyfriend since she's the one I like.

"Of course, Bub. And you know that I have the same priorities as you."

She smiled. "As long as I'm with the team, especially with you... I'm good. It's all good."

"Aww, so sweet!" I teased.

She laughed. "I know right! Maybe you should try to be sweet too."

"You might fall for me once I did." I teased.

She laughed. "Conceited!"

She stood up and went to the trashcan to throw something.

"Johana, let's go back to the university. It's already 5PM." I told her.

We both looked at each other with wide eyes when we realized something...

"TRAINING!"

We immediately go back to the university gym. We both don't want to be late for our afternoon training since the punishment is pretty tough. But I guess we really have to endure it because we have no choice. Besides, I'm still happy that I get to spend an alone time with Johana. Maybe the punishment will be worth it? Kidding.

"Bub walk faster! We're late." Johana said. "For sure Coach Fai will be mad at us including our seniors." She added.

"I know. But we're late now, we can't do anything about it."

"It's your fault Bub! You did not check the time." She teased.

"Oh wow. Is it my fault that you dated me?" I asked her.

"No... and it's not our fault that we enjoyed being together that we did not even bother to check the time." She look at me while smiling.

I smiled too. I guess you won't really notice the time when you're with someone who makes you the happiest right at the moment. I'm glad we both enjoyed... and we'll both suffer later. Haha!

"Thank you, Jo."

"Anything for you Bub." She said.

Dear Coach Fai,

Sorry if we're late but I really enjoyed this day and I'm ready to face your tough training but please spare my Johana.
