One - Astrid's POV

The next thing I knew my ears are twitching as I pick up the sound of footsteps coming towards me and not just one pair either but a few of them. I need to be good to be able to get good meals and build up strength no matter what happens I need to remember to stay calm and behave otherwise we won't make it out of here alive. The next thing I hear is metal clanging as someone unlocks and opens my cell door and comes in and that's when I smell them letting me know exactly who is here.

"Hello my nameless little prisoner" I hear Alpha Dean say making me lift my head a little to glare at him

"Awe don't look at me like that otherwise you will get a punishment" He spits at me as I flick my eyes to the ground to try to make sure I stay on my best behaviour so that I get food and build up some strength to escape this hell hole.

"Now what shall we do with you today?" He says as he paces the width of the cell contemplating what kind of torture he wants to inflict on my body making me shiver in disgust and fear.

I have my head tilted towards the ground so that I don't glare daggers into this bastards skull so I can get some food since it's been about 2 days since I've been given anything to eat or drink. Alpha Dean is still pacing the width of my cell thinking when all of a sudden he stops his pacing making me stiffen with fear on what he's thought about what he wants to do to me.

"Doc is there anything you need from her for any more tests?" He asked one of the men in the cell with us

"No Alpha, I've run every test I can think of and have come up with nothing out of the ordinary to tell us why she looks like this. I even ran her blood and took a look at her genes and lineage and what not and the only thing I found was that she was a hybrid, meaning she has both the genetic markers of a werewolf and a panther." The doctor tells Alpha Dean

"Well that's interesting to know" I hear the Alpha say

"Girl, tell me, have you met your wolf or panther yet?" He asked me

"No" I say while shaking my head as I stare at the floor

"Are you lying to me little one?" He asks as he walks over and grips my face hard with his fingers digging into my cheeks causing me to flinch making him smile from the pain he was inflicting on me.

"I'm not lying. I don't have an animal that I have met yet, I don't even know when my birthday is or what I am or why I'm here." I say as a few tears slips from the corners of my eyes

"I can see you are telling the truth. Doc when is this things birthday?" He asked the man in the white coat that was standing near the wall close to the door

"From all the blood work and what not I did and found out about her, today should be her 18th birthday which would be the time for her to find a mate. She should have already met her wolf or panther which ever would be more dominate to come forth and talk to her. If neither have awaken by now I doubt she will ever get either a wolf form or a panther form, so that being said she will still have some strength and speed because of her parents but she won't ever be as strong as a full fledged shifter." The doctor tells everyone

"So she's basically a really strong human with a deformity?" Alpha Dean says

"Yes Alpha" the doctor replies giving me a slightly pitiful look before masking it before anyone else could see

"Well that's some unfortunate news for you my dear. Since there is nothing actually special about you I have no use for you, so now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with a useless, animal-less shifter with such an ugly deformity" The Alpha pondered as he stood there staring holes into my skull while he was deep in thought. I watched him go back to pacing the room before he stopped and looked at all the people still standing around in the cell.

"I want everyone out of here now. No one is to stay in this prison anymore, no one is to come near it either. From this day forth these prison cells are closed to everyone and anyone caught in or around then will be severely punished. If anyone asks why then just tell them that they are falling apart and dangerous and I don't want anyone to get hurt and if that doesn't satisfy them then send them to me and I will deal with them personally." Alpha Dean says using his alpha tone making sure that everyone obeys him.

As soon as those words leave his mouth all of the colour leaves my face as I watch everyone slowly leave the cell and with it all of my hope of getting out of here are gone with them. I know that he has something in mind for me and he doesn't want anyone to know about it so that he can just tell them he did nothing and just leave me in here to rot until I die slowly, and painfully. The only upside I could think of about being left here all alone is the fact that I will be able to try to escape without anyone catching me or hearing me but I don't think I'm going to be able to get out of here on my own and I pray to the moon goddess that someone comes and stumbles across me and saves me from this nightmare.

Once we are left all alone and there is no one within ear shot I watch Alpha Dean slowly turn and stalk towards me like the lethal predator that I know he could be and has shown to me before during some of my punishments. My whole body was shaking in fear and anticipation of what he could and was going to do to me was undeniable and hard to hide or stop. It also didn't help that I was malnourished and slightly dehydrated from being in here without food or water for such a long time.

"Well, well, well my dear not that we are alone would you like to know what's going to happen to you?" Alpha Dean asks me and me being me I was going to say some smart ass remark but stopped myself and just shook my head from side to side.

"No Alpha I don't" I whisper out into the silent and deserted prison. With it being just the two of us down here my whisper sounded really loud since there was no other noises coming from anywhere else down here or ay where near here.

"Since you aren't actually special in any kind of way that would be beneficial for me and my pack, I have no use for you not even as a slave or punching bag since seeing your deformity would just piss me off." He said as he roughly grabbed my chin to force my head up so that I was looking into his face not that I wanted too.

"Then what are you going to do with me?" I asked making my voice shake with fear

"Nothing, I'm not going to anything with you. You are going to stay here until you die since these cells are never going to be used again and everyone that knows about you is under my alpha command to not tell a soul about you making it easy to forget all about you" He says as he manically laughs at the horror stricken look on my face

"You can't just leave me here" I say shocked

"I can and I will, I'm the alpha and I can do what I want to protect my pack" He spits at me venomously

"But I'm not a threat to you or your pack! I just want to be free" I state with tears rolling down my cheeks

"I know you aren't a threat but I still can't take the chance of you telling anyone about what has happened here" He states matter of factly

"If you are just going to leave me here and forget about me can you at least unchain me?" I ask as pathetically as I could manage

"The only way I would even think about unchaining you would be to knock your ass out so that you can't try anything" he tells me with disgust in his voice

"Then do that I don't care I just can't stand being chained up like this anymore" I cry out as tears stream down my face

"As you wish" Alpha Dean says before plunging a needle in my neck injecting me with wolfsbane

"Nighty night bitch" he says as he pulls the needle out and everything goes dark with the last thing I heard was him laughing triumphantly
