Crystal’s POV
"Please, I'm innocent" I cried out in pain as I felt my whole world crumble at my feet.
My protests and screams were drowned by the growing murmurs and whispers of those gathered in the halls, including my father and Rita. Within seconds, the crowd had multiplied as they followed the guards and me over to the dungeon.
No one could utter a single word in my defense not even my father, not that I was expecting anything from him.
He had always hated me and blamed me for the death of his beloved wife, my mother. And that was why when he got remarried, he treated me like an outcast, showering Rayna with all of his love, time, and affection, leaving me to grow in her shadows. And now that I was finally happy, he let his daughter take my happiness away from me as well.
As for Sebastian, he hadn't even bothered to bat me an eye he just held on to her and walked away.
The cell I was thrown into was cold and empty. I pressed my back against the wall, my hands trembling as I cried my heart out.
My cheek still burned from his slap, but the real pain was somewhere deep in my heart.
I didn’t know how long I sat there, crying amidst my thoughts, but the sound of the door being opened pulled me back to my senses.
"Sebastian?" I whispered.
He was coming to set me free and explain why all of this was happening... or maybe it was all part of the plan. Perhaps he had acted that way to deceive her.
Although the hallway was dark, I could still make out her hourglass figure and her sweet feminine fragrance.
Rayna.
It was obvious why she was here and it was to make fun of me, no doubt.
“Crystal, darling" she called out as she walked closer to me.
I said nothing; instead, I glared at her as if only looks could kill. It had been her fault, it was all her fault... I had spent two days in this darkness all because of her.
She let out a breath of relief as she saw me. “I'm so sorry, Crystal. I didn't mean for any of this to happen!”
She tilted her head, feigning concern; of course, so she had meant for this to happen.
"...oh wait, I actually did" She chuckled.
My hands clenched, and I tried my best to hide how hurt and broken I was, although my tears were visible. “I do not need to hear anything from you neither do I wish for your audience.”
She stared at me for a while. " Well, in actuality, I'm here to render my sincere apology...I'm sorry Sister, I didn't mean for any of this to happen... I didn't mean to be locked up here a day before my wedding...”
"Wedding?" I asked puzzled as to what was going on.
"Yes, dear sister, Wedding... My wedding, you see Alpha Tyler and I are to wed at first light."
"That's a lie," I cried out in pain and disbelief. You're lying; Sebastian would never..."
She stared at me for a while as a smirk played on her face. "He said it's me he loves, and we'll be any have a wolfless weakling like you rule his people."
She saw the doubt flicker in my eyes and pounced on it. “I swear to you on your mother's grave.”
“What did you do to him” I screamed at her and she smiled.
"Why don't you ask him yourself" She slowly crouched down to my level, leaning in closer, her voice a whisper.
I swallowed hard as my mind raced with the endless possibilities of what she meant. "What do you mean?"
"Sebastian is coming, and he's not coming for the reason you have in mind. You see my dear sister you have been accused of Treason against the pack, against the alpha, and of cause against me the Luna of the pack and bearer of his heir."
My breath hitched. “What? I don't understand....”
“play times over,” she whispered, her eyes darting between me and the entrance of the cell.
"That's a lie” I slowly muttered.
She didn’t answer immediately.
“He's here” she finally answered.
Silence stretched between us before she finally spoke "Keep this at the back of your mind Crystal, he never ever loved you"
" Sebby" she called out to the shadows as he came into my sight with a cold hard expression on his face.
The moment the guards reached my cell alongside him, he quickly dished out his orders without batting me an eye.
“Let's do this quickly before the night runs out; take her!”
“No!” I screamed out, but he ignored my scream, a small smirk playing on his lips, “Sebastian, don't do this, please I'm innocent; I did nothing wrong.”
The guards nodded in silent understanding.
“No!!! Leave me to get your hands off me... SEBASTIAN” I screamed at them as they grabbed me while I thrashed hard against their tight grip. “Sebastian, please help me; you know me; I could never do something to harm you or anyone else!”
“Your accomplice ran away Crystal it's only fair you get the punishment a traitor deserves so that my subjects understand that personal relationships can not stop me from giving out justice” he calmly spoke as the guards led me away while he caressed Rayna's flat stomach.
“Just let me go, please! Don't do it! Sebastian, please have mercy I'm innocent” I screamed into the night.
“I'm innocent please!” I yelled at them while struggling to break free as they continued to drag me farther and farther away from the pack towards a place I knew too well.
The cliff.
“Please,” I begged again, louder than before, and finally...
"Leave her" he ordered making me heave a sigh of relief as I stared up at him and Rayna, but nothing prepared me for the next words that came out of his mouth
"Add weight to her body and prepare the arrows."
Time froze.
" Arrows?" I whispered to myself as the sound of the water roared louder in my head as it crashed against the rocks below.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I honestly didn't mean for any of this to happen..."
Bang.
I felt the first arrow plunge deep into my skin.
"Ahhhh" I screamed out in pain trying my best to clutch my chest as I stared deep into my sister's eyes unable to move as the stones they had added to my chain constrained my movements
But she stared back at me with her lips tugged up in satisfaction. "Please, my dear sister, you have to die. "
" Rayna! I will see you in hell. " I called out as the second arrow pierced my skin only to earn myself another smirk.
"It was fun while it lasted too bad I never loved you" He nonchalantly said as he gestured for them to throw me off the cliff.
"I'd see you as well sister. Long live the Queen" she whispered as the guards pushed me off the cliff.
The impact of the push hit my body hard as the water swallowed and dragged me down like a submarine and I knew it was time.
His voice echoed in my head as I sank deeper into the water blood oozing out of me,
“I love you”
LIES!
“Give me some time to sort it out...”
"I am yours, my wolf is yours..."
LIES.
LIES.
LIES.
Sebastian had fed me lies. He made me believe he loved me, but in reality, he was fucking my sister... No, she's not my sister; she never was. She was a child my father brought home with a demon claiming they were family but they never were.
How did I ever think a wolfless girl like me, hated by those I call my own, would ever find love in the hands of someone like him?
'Mother. You should have just taken me along with you and now...'
'I'm coming, Mother.'
I closed my eyes ready to embrace my fate but just a few moments before everything faded to nothing, a female voice screamed loudly next to me.
“Mate.”
And then there was nothing.
