Crystal's POV
" Calm. Calm down... Calm yourself," I slowly meditated as I watched Rita, my stepmother, frantically pace around the corridor while I clutched my wedding gown, trying my best not to have a breakdown.
Why did she have to do this today of all days?
I felt a tug on my arm as Rita quizzically spoke to me.
"Why isn't she here yet? She's supposed to have been here by now"
" Rayna isn't a child she's a full grown woman that knows her way around so do not stress me by acting like the world is about to fall down" Joel, my father breathed out in irritation to his wife
" Try not to smother your makeup else you might look less like a bride and Luna, instead you might look like a stray dog" Rita sneered at me.
Luna.
Yes, I was about to be the Luna of Silverstone pack and the lovely wedded wife of Alpha Sebastian Silver.
"Luna! You may go in now." The guard's deep baritone voice jolted me and Rita back to reality, making us stare with uncertainty at one another.
The moment the guard opened the majestic doors, I immediately locked eyes with the most handsome man in the world Sebastian, and the world around me seemed to have vanished underneath my feet. I could only see the both of us in my head.
Rita said nothing as she quickly made her way towards the seat that was meant for my family members, and although she hadn't said anything all this while, I could clearly sense the disbelief, annoyance, and quiet judgment she had been dishing out to me ever since Sebastian had announced our wedding. It was obvious she felt her daughter would have been a much better choice and so did my Father.
As my father walked me down the aisle doubt began to slowly creep in and I heard my father's low whisper "Walk straight child, do not embarrass me even more"
I said nothing to him; instead, I continued walking towards my Alpha, and the moment I stood in front of him, he flashed me a warm smile, making heat rise to my cheeks.
Without wasting time, he gently pulled me close, his lips lightly brushing against mine as he offered me a warm, soft, and tender kiss.
"Ahem," my father softly cleared his throat, bringing us back to reality.
“Patience Your Majesty, she'll be officially yours soon,” the elder priest chuckled as he spoke.
“On this fateful day, we are gathered to wed our Alpha, Sebastian Silver to his chosen bride Lady Crystal Rizalia in holy matrimony..” he continued speaking while placing our palms together so he could perform the blood bond
"...Bring the rings, the crown, and the dagger!" He ordered, and a guard came forward with a pair of beautiful ruby-encrusted rings with a matching crown as well as a ruby-designed dagger.
This was the most important part of our wedding, where our palms would be slit open and placed together so our blood would mix, solidifying our marriage and bond.
The priest carefully carried the dagger and placed it in front of us, we raised our hands in front of him while staring lovingly at one another
"May your marriage be as sweet and happy as the rainbow that shines after the rain, may your bond be stronger than the strongest mount..."
The moment he was about to slash my palm, a distant yet familiar voice cut through his words.
“Stop!” The voice shouted and the air became tense as the voice grew closer, the alarm in her voice made my heart pound and I finally recognized the owner
Rayna.
"Stop. Stop the wedding"
I immediately turned my head to the door just in time to see her pretty figure running towards me making the crowd murmur in shock and in confusion.
"Rayna? Whats... What's going on?" I asked her in confusion but she ignored me and continued screaming not towards me but towards...
“Sebastian!" She screamed. "Please stop, please, I beg of you! Stop this!” she screamed once again as she fell on her knees in front of us holding her abdomen.
"Rayna, what's this madness?" Rita roared at her daughter as she also made her way towards us.
I stared at Rayna, too stunned to say a word, as Sebastian slowly walked towards her while I silently prayed to the heavens that what was unraveling in front of me wasn't what I was thinking about.
“Mother!!" She screamed, " I'm. I'm pregnant for... for the Alpha.” She cried out in pain, and I felt my heart drop.
For some weird reason, it almost felt as though there was a bell ringing in my head as everywhere became silent.
It was a suffocating, agonizing, and cold silence as I stared in shock at my sister kneeling in front of my soon-to-be husband, and he was trying to.. to comfort her?
The whispers around me slowly began to grow louder.
“..This is devastating as well as heartbreaking...” I heard someone murmur.
“...Was she so undeserving that he went for her sister instead.. .”
"Why did this have to happen to her? She's such a nice soul..."
"It was bound to happen, she is wolfless after all."
My breaths became rapid, and ragged as all I wanted to do was scream, but I couldn't. I felt my knees buckle as though, all of a sudden, I couldn't carry my weight anymore.
My chest tightened in pain and my vision blurred with tears as the distant whispers grew louder while I slowly begged my legs to move, to run, or crawl.
And they finally listened.
I carefully began to walk and when I approached them I felt Sebastian's warm yet tight grip on my arm stopping me from moving further as Rayna's wails grew louder.
"Crystal... I'm sorry please forgive me."
" Crystal.. Crystal I can explain" Sebastian's voice echoed in my head through my left ear and flew out through my right ear.
"Child" I heard Rita scream as she ran toward her daughter.
I said nothing, what was there to say? I had nothing to say to either of them; instead, I gently tugged my arm away from his cheating grip and made my way out the majestic door I had come in through.
***
"It wasn't a dream after all" I slowly said to myself as I sat on my bed.
A quiet sob escaped my lips as the tears I had been trying to hold on to began to freely fall down my cheek as reality dawned heavily on me.
Sebastian had told me he didn't want a child out of wedlock!
He hadn't even touched me like a man would touch his woman; he had claimed he didn't want me pregnant until I was officially his Luna, but he comfortably got another woman... no, she wasn't another woman, she was my sister.
He comfortably got my sister pregnant.
The door to my room suddenly creaked open, and then came the cheating wolf.
“Crystal... I know you're upset but please..."
His voice was calm, too calm for someone who had just broken a person's whole existence.
A dark and sadistic laugh escaped my lips making him flinch
“Tell me Seb, what did I do to deserve this, this.. this amount of betrayal?? TELL ME?"
“I swear It was a mistake. I was drunk and... and she just happened to be there. I swear I didn't mean it.” He tried to speak up.
“Drunk? Sebastian, did you say drunk? You’ve never touched me even when you're drunk... Look for a better lie " I hissed.
" No, I'm not lying to you. I swear I was drunk and not in control of myself." He took a slow step towards me, his eyes desperately pleading.
"I love you, and only you. This is just a mistake, and I promise to rectify it soon, so please...."
The door suddenly burst open again before he could complete his sentence and Rita stood there, breathless. “Alpha! Rayna... Rayna needs you."
