Summary

Prologue
*Kanika Pov*
“It is my fault. I should have been careful to not let this happen. I will handle it.” Saying that he cut the call while I continued to stand near the bed not able to believe all this happened.
I need to call Anitha and find out how is she as the scandal that broke out will hurt her personally and also her career.
“How could you send her alone with him?” I glanced up from my phone to stare at him in silence.
“Did you forget that she is a celebrity? How can you even think…” he shook his head while rubbing his forehead.
“You both were drunk and you were looking a bit sick at that time. She offered to drop him and I didn’t think clearly except to bring you back. So…” I didn’t know how to continue.
“No matter how sick I was, you should have handled his matter before thinking about me.” He stated and I frowned hearing his words.
“How can I do that when you are sick?” I asked and he frowned back.
“Why do you need to care whether I am sick or not? It would have been better if you had left both of us at the bar itself so that this wouldn’t have happened. Do you realize what kind of scandal just broke out? It will harm the GH and even Prathap along with Anitha. The money that needs to settle everything is not a small amount and there will be other losses to bear. I will just cut it from the amount that you will receive by the end of this contract period.” I stared at him in a daze in the beginning due to shock as I never heard him shout like that and later because of his ending words.
“How can you be this careless while working? I have to cut the cost of this plate from your salary.”
“Because of you, the client left the shop and we made a loss. You have to bear this loss.”

“Why does this taste weird? I need to just…
“Do you know anything at all…

“Get out! You are fired!”
“Do you hear me?” I got dragged back from my thoughts from his shout.
“Yes, Sir! I will bear the losses and you can cut it from the salary.” Throwing those words automatically, I bowed down like I did many times in the past near my previous employers to show my sincerity and also so that they can forgive me for my mistakes.
I slowly glanced up after a few seconds and found him frowning at me but he shook his head before walking towards the cupboard.
“Go and get ready! We need to go to the main office building to decide on how to handle it.” Saying that he opened the door and paused seeing that a part of the shelf is empty.
After a brief pause, he took out his clothes and walked away to get freshen up while I continued to stare at that space that I created with my own hands yesterday.
Yesterday, it was our anniversary party but he ended up missing it to get drunk and I shifted my plan to talk to him today regarding how we could try to be real partners from this point.
Who could have known, I would be shown my place before I could utter those words? I didn’t want any earthshattering romance or any forever kind of words in my life for a long time and still don’t need those but with the feeling of compatibility between us being good for the past year, I thought it is fine to take this step.
I closed my eyes for a second to compose myself and walked away from this room while closing the cupboard on the way with the determination to never open it ever again. I am sure he will fill it back with his clothes eventually and I am sure I will not create that space again on his side even in my mind.
