chapter 7
VIVIEN'S POV
We are at the table now eating dinner. We were eating in silence and only the sound of cutlery could be heard in the four corners of the kitchen of the mansion where we were stationed.
A taste from Don Crisanto eased my nervousness at that time.
"Jake hijo, how is being the editor-in-chief. Aren't you bored with that job!" This is the beginning. I just listened and focused on the food in front of me.
"Hmm not really dad. Actually, I kinda like it. It's better and I can temporarily save money to start my own business!" I smiled when Jake said that. He has a very good plan for himself. The Don nodded and now it was Lucas's turn to look.
"Hey Lucas, how is the company? Did you handle it properly?!" I looked at Lucas.
"No need to mention dad. Our company is totally fine!" His voice was still cold and then he ate again.
"It's good then."
I missed the fried chicken so I was about to get a spoon but I couldn't reach it.
"It's me babe!" I looked at Jake. He was also looking at me as he took a piece of fried chicken and put it on my plate.
He's really a gentleman. The luck of the woman who can get his attention.
"Even at dinner, really flirting." Lucas whispered insistently. Even though his voice was weak, I still heard it.
I just let him go and continued eating.
"You want this salad babe?" Jake took a plate with only salad and put some on my plate. I mouthed thank you to him.
He just smiled then winked at me. Well, there is no malice in that because he has always done that when he helps me.
I was clinging to the table as Lucas put down the glass which caught all of our attention.
"Where are you going Lucas?" Donya Bella asked in surprise. I was also wondering what he asked.
"I'm full. I'm going to sleep already!" After that it left.
"What happened there? What do you think Vivien?" Donya asked me and I immediately shook my head. I turned to Jake's direction because he was laughing softly.
"Jake, why are you laughing at me?" Don Crisanto said.
"I think he's jealous."
I raised my eyebrows.
Are you jealous?
"How did you say that Jake?" Donya asked again.
"Is not it obvious?"
We just shook our heads and waited for him to speak. He tasted it then sighed.
"He's jealous because I'm sweet with Vivien now. Look at his reaction. It's funny." It giggled and then stood up shaking.
"I'll go first. I might go crazy thinking about Lucas's partner."
He walked away before saying goodbye to us.
While I still couldn't get over what he was saying.
Lucas was jealous? I don't think so.
THIRD PERSON'S POV
Vivien let out a heavy sigh when she entered her room with Lucas.
He is still afraid of her because of his cold treatment of her. Even though he was nervous, he still walked straight inside and he even saw her drinking wine while on the veranda of the house. It's just stupid.
He thinks he thinks a lot and that's why. He quietly went to the bed and lay there.
He really wanted to approach him and ask what his problem was but he was afraid of being yelled at and scolded by him so he kept his mouth shut.
She felt him walk in her direction. His chest heaved.
What will happen?
It stopped right on the edge of the bed opposite him. He couldn't see what she was doing, whether he was staring at her or not because she had her eyes closed. The next thing she knew, she tasted it.
"Hey!" He opened his eyes and sat on the bed.
"W-why?" he stammered here.
"What are you doing?!" This rude question to the girl. Vivien didn't know what that meant.
"Sleeping." was his only answer.
He faked a smile while not taking his eyes off her.
"That's my bed!" He was even more confused because of what he asked. What is this again?
He was silent because he wanted to hear what he had to say next.
"I'm not used to having someone next to me! That bed is too small for the two of us."
"What are you saying?" She asked.
"Get out of there. Don't ever stand next to me."
He gasped. Does he not want her next to him even when he sleeps?
He was still silent as he stood up.
The young man immediately jumped on the bed and lay down there. He even put his two hands on both sides of the bed as a sign that he owns it.
"If you want to move to another room, that's even better!"
"No." said Vivien. "I'm just here!" Then he smiled sweetly at Lucas. He went to the cabinet and got a blanket and a pillow.
He laid it on the floor and sat down. Now Lucas' eyes are closed. It's sleep. It must have been affected by what he drank earlier.
While sitting on the floor, he stared at Lucas. He misses it. He used to sulk when he didn't put her next to him to sleep, but now he doesn't seem to care if she doesn't put him next to her.
He spent half an hour watching Lucas' very gentle face before deciding to lie down and go to sleep. Just seeing this will make his day complete.
