Chapter 2: Intriguing

Harlan Financial Group, top floor.

Frederick Harlan looked back at Franklin Chase. "Did she sign?"

"Yes, she did, but she didn't ask for anything," Franklin passed the contract to Frederick Harlan.

She didn't ask for anything?

A hint of surprise flashed across Frederick Harlan's handsome face. He hadn't expected this woman to have such integrity. He had thought it would take some time to divorce her, but upon hearing this result, he felt an inexplicable discomfort.

For three years, she had been a full-time housewife, without a job, social circle, completely dependent. How was she going to live in the future?

Thinking about how he was worried about her, Frederick Harlan furrowed his brows and hid the thought. After all, after the divorce, that woman would have nothing to do with him!

He casually threw the divorce agreement into the drawer and raised his gaze. "Has Serena been found?" he asked.

Franklin Chase replied, "She's elusive, leaving no trace wherever she goes."

"Put out a reward on the dark web, whoever reveals the whereabouts of the miraculous doctor Serena will be rewarded a billion."

Three years ago, Shannon Hartley was poisoned by a particularly dominant poison, doctors nationwide were helpless.

During these years, she had been living abroad, her health deteriorating. It was said that Serena was a medical genius, known as a small miracle healer with extraordinary medical skills.

Once she was found, there would be a cure for Shannon Hartley's poison.

"I'll go now."

On the other side, Lucas Jasper brought Tiffany Starr to a villa.

"You'll be living here from now on. What are your plans?" he asked.

"I haven't thought of anything yet."

Lucas Jasper placed a phone in front of her. "Someone is offering a billion to find you. Do you accept?"

Tiffany Starr replied apathetically, "Not interested."

"Fine, then rest well for now. But, The Sutherland Family has been urging you to visit lately. When you feel up to it, go see them."

"Saturday."

"Alright, I'll reply to them."

Tiffany Starr quickly tidied up, bought daily necessities, changed her phone card, and bid goodbye to her past.

Saturday arrived, and Lucas Jasper accompanied her to The Sutherland Family to treat Mrs. Sutherland. As they left, a black Bentley brushed past them. Tiffany Starr glanced outside and caught a glimpse of the deeply profiled man in the car. How could Frederick Harlan appear here?

Half an hour ago, Frederick Harlan received news about the miraculous doctor Serena treating Mrs. Sutherland and rushed over with Franklin Chase at once. Since Serena was elusive, not willing to show herself, he could only come and capture her.

At The Sutherland Family, he found out that the miraculous doctor had already left. He thought about the recent vehicle that had left and entered the driver's seat, pressing the accelerator to chase it.

Lucas Jasper saw the black Bentley following closely through the rearview mirror. "Is that your ex-husband chasing us?"

Tiffany Starr gave a quick glance. Yes, it was her heartless ex-husband's car. Her eyes lit up, "Lose him."

Lucas Jasper stepped on the accelerator, the car speeding down the road. Frederick Harlan was not one to give up easily.

The chase went on for a while, with Lucas Jasper's car not gaining an advantage over Frederick Harlan's. He started to feel a bit impatient.

"Damm it, didn't expect your ex-husband to have such good driving skills. Look at him, he won't stop until he catches up!"

Tiffany Starr suddenly opened her beautiful eyes and took over the steering wheel. With a cold gaze, she pressed the accelerator to the maximum and headed towards the most famous Devil's Bend in Portland Bay.

The black Bentley followed closely, inching closer.

As they reached the foot of the mountain, Tiffany Starr abruptly stopped. Just as the other car approached, she stepped on the accelerator. When they reached the bend, she brake, stepped on the clutch, downshifted, exerted lateral force, and stepped on the accelerator quickly, with precision and speed. After a few rounds, she left Frederick Harlan's car far behind.

She lowered the car window, extended her slender fingers, and raised her middle finger towards the car behind.

Arrogance, audacity!

Frederick Harlan frowned, the hand was undoubtedly a woman's, but he felt like he had seen it somewhere before.

When he reached the finish line, the woman's car had already disappeared without a trace.

Franklin Chase held onto the handrail, his heart pounding. It was the first time he had seen Mr. Harlan lose to a woman. He had thought Mr. Harlan would be furious, but instead, he turned his head and saw a strange smile on Mr. Harlan's lips.

"Intriguing!"

How is it intriguing?

He nearly met an untimely death.

"Find her by all means necessary, no matter what it takes, dig her out for me."

Not for anything else, but for her ability to cure Shannon's disease.
