Chapter 5. You are not harmless
By Deborah.
We went to eat something with some friends and since it was quite early, we decided to go play pool. Soledad, my best friend, remembered a pub that had been remodeled and had a few pool tables, meaning we wouldn't have to wait our turn to play.
We're not experts at playing pool, but we went to have fun.
The four of us are pretty good friends, we went to high school together and we usually met up to go dancing, to dinner or to meet up with friends.
We were laughing about how we got the balls wrong and Fabiana put in a striped ball instead of a solid one.
—At the table that's against the back wall, there's a boy who keeps staring at you.
Leyla told me.
I walked around the pool table and while I was putting chalk on the pool cue, I glanced sideways to see who was looking at me.
I immediately turned my back to that table, because I was tempted to laugh.
—What's wrong with you? The boy is very handsome, there are four of them and from a distance they all look quite handsome, although I only saw one of them in profile when he turned his head.
Leyla informed us.
—I know them.
-That?
Soledad asks, astonished.
—Not personally.
-I don't understand you.
Fabiana notes.
—The one looking at me is Renata's son and Tiziano's brother.
—Titian is so attractive, it's a shame he only has eyes for Luz.
Leyla's comment left me speechless.
—He used to be a real womanizer, but he changed because of Luz, that's what Renata tells me. I know Rodrigo has had a girlfriend for six years, and according to his mother, his reputation as a serious man is just that—a reputation. She tells me a little bit about it, but what I know about him is because I always hear her talking on the phone with her niece. She's really badmouthing Gonzalo's girlfriend, who's the one who looks at me. And even though they're still dating, every Thursday it seems like he goes out with his friends and they end up with casual lovers.
—They are very riffraff.
Soledad is annoying me, and she looks at me; she knows very well who they are, especially she knows who Gabriel is.
The four of us laughed at the same time, and I think half the pub turned around to look at us.
—Renata showed me thousands of photos of her children, Tizi is well known, and of the friends who are sitting with Gonzalo now, I think two of them have had girlfriends for ages, and the one with his back turned must be his best friend, Gabriel. Renata says that he doesn't leave anyone untouched, and mind you, these are 30-year-old men…
—They're grown, no wonder they've had girlfriends for so long, they must be about to get married.
Leyla is usually measured in her words and once she was dating a guy who had a girlfriend, she didn't know and when she found out, she broke off the relationship, that's why I was surprised by the comment she made about Tiziano.
We met Tiziano through his girlfriend, Luz, who is Soledad's sister's best friend.
Florencia, Soledad's sister, has a degree in nutrition, as does Luz; they studied together.
Soledad and I always admired Florencia and I think we both decided to study nutrition because Flor was a nutritionist.
Although I loved cosmetology, that's why, while I study, I work as a makeup artist.
Through Luz, I met Renata.
Renata adores her children and mentions them constantly, always saying they are beautiful.
Every mother should say that about her children.
Titian is divine and I must admit he is very attractive.
In the photos, Gonzalo looked spectacular, of course I never would have thought to make that comment to his mother.
Renata was often upset because Marta, Gonzalo's girlfriend, would snub her, and she believed that her son was sometimes upset because of his girlfriend.
—They're coming.
Leyla said.
We already knew they were getting closer.
—Remember that you have girlfriends.
I tell my friends.
We kept playing and laughing at the disasters we made.
We knew they were going to confront us.
We also knew that they were almost married, because they had all been in relationships for quite some time.
They started bothering us with the pool cues.
Gonzalo annoyed me.
After apologizing to us several times, Gonzalo confronts me.
—I'm Gonzalo.
I was about to tell him that I already knew.
But it wasn't going to be fun.
—Hello Gonzalo.
I answered him smiling and holding back laughter.
He asked me what my name was.
He immediately ran a finger over my lips.
He is certainly seductive.
—I'm dying to kiss you.
He's a son of a bitch, he has a girlfriend and he wants to seduce me... and if I didn't know him, I'd fall at his feet.
Renata is right, he is beautiful, more than that…he is attractive, sexy, he has blue, almost gray eyes, he is blond, his hair is somewhat messy, he was…bold, he approached me believing he was a winner.
He's tall and has a body that makes you want to be on top of him, to be enveloped in his arms, in his warmth.
When he touched my mouth with his fingers, I concentrated on hiding what it made me feel; it was an internal shock, but powerful.
It's clear this isn't the first time he's confronted a girl... even though he has a girlfriend.
I know very well what her body looks like because I saw photos of her in swim trunks.
What I didn't expect was that his contact was so powerful.
—Shall we go that way?
He asks me suddenly.
I smile at him.
If his mother knew that he must be having a great time without his girlfriend, she would be more at ease.
-I don't know you.
I was already tempted when I told her that.
I wanted to hide it.
He introduced himself, at least he didn't give me false information, and I also gave him a minimal amount of my information.
And beyond what I felt when it touched me, I was going to have a good time.
He is a first-rate conqueror.
He insists we leave and tells me it's harmless, as he approaches me.
I felt a thousand red lights screaming at me to be alert.
I already had him glued to me and even though I knew his situation, I swear his closeness was making me dizzy.
Without much preamble, he kissed me.
He didn't just kiss me, he KISSED ME, in capital letters.
—You're not that harmless.
I told him and stepped back, because his kiss had hypnotized me.
He insisted we leave and I wanted to know how much of a liar he was, so I asked him if he was married or if he had a girlfriend, and he took a few seconds to answer.
—I'm not married and I don't have a girlfriend.
I was holding back my laughter.
I insist and he assures me that he is free as the wind.
I really held back my laughter.
He's a liar.
She's not the little gem her mother thinks she is.
He insists again that we go somewhere else and says that his friends are going to end up going with my friends.
They're not that crazy, and honestly, it wouldn't occur to us to go off with strangers.
Although we already know that they are not unknown and that they are not serial killers.
We also know that they are seductive, conquerors and that they don't want anything serious, not even with their girlfriends, because otherwise they wouldn't be trying to win us over.
While we were chatting, I flirted with her; I know how to seduce too, it's not an art that only men master.
I see how his gaze travels over my body and how he is tempted by my mouth.
It's exciting to see him fall for my charms.
I'm a very pretty girl, I know that very well, however I don't usually have a pose to conquer men, but now I'm doing it.
I'm afraid of giving myself away, because I do know him.
Although it's clear he's very attracted to me, and that works in my favor.
I continue to refuse, he insists and kisses me again, this time I knew he was going to kiss me, I never thought he would put his hands on my breasts.
It made me feel alive and I couldn't hide it.
But I made it clear to him that we weren't going to end the night together.
Since he kept his lips on mine, I decided to drive him crazy and I was the one who deepened the kiss.
I felt him tremble and we were so close that I felt his hot member pressed against my body.
Although I've never gone off with someone in those circumstances, I swear, as he said, I knew we were going to have a great time together.
I had an inner fire that was burning me up.
Gonzalo was surprised by my kiss, but just as quickly as I kissed him, I stopped.
He asked for my phone number and instead of answering him, I winked at him and we left with my friends.
—Damn! How he kissed you!
Sole tells me.
—I got my revenge on him for being such a womanizer!
—He must be as drunk as a kite.
Leyla says, celebrating my behavior.
We all laughed at the same time; we must look like four crazy women, because our laughter was so loud.
—Can you imagine if he sees you at his mother's shop?
—Or at Luz's house?
My friends say so.
—It's going to be so much fun, he assured me that he didn't have a girlfriend and that he was free as the wind, I can't wait to tell Renata.
—Are you going to tell her that you kissed her son?
Fabiana asks, almost horrified.
—No, nor that his son was desperate to have sex with me.
—What a swear word, miss.
We burst out laughing again.
