Chapter Three
Alessandro
.
I sat in the VIP area with my legs crossed and a glass of bourbon in my hands as Kaizen Romano stood in front of me with a busted lip and a bruised eye thanks to Ferdinand who was keeping post outside. Leo was having his club opening thing and while I wouldn’t usually go for things like that, he saved my life once and I presumed a little huntress would see it as an opportunity to try to see me again.
“Don, it’s not what you think. Sofi is-” Kaizen started but a raise of my hand was enough to silence him. I refused to look at him as I took another sip of my drink. A few minutes before this, I saw him with my betrothed. Holding her and smiling like he was the happiest man in the world.I almost lost my mind when I saw his hands graze her thigh. I should cut off those hands. I had no idea what kind of relationship he had with her, all I knew was that he was Luca’s second-in-command and best friend and maybe that was the only thing holding me back from snapping his neck in two.
I wasn’t trying to start a war with someone whose sister I intended on marrying. “You will never touch her or smile in her direction again. Test me and everything you love will burn.” I finally looked him in the eye as he drank in my murderous gaze. My eyes soon left his as I saw a familiar pair of greens walking into the VIP area. Ferdinand had already alerted me of her arrival on my phone but I was busy trying to scare off little Romano. “Leave.” The order was received with Kaizen limping out of the VIP area with his hands shielding his face. He had better not fucking test me.
I let my eyes train on Sofia Bianchi as I acknowledged her pale skin and chestnut brown hair. She was dressed in the most beautiful red dress that had a slit high enough to ogle her thighs and I definitely had no problem with that except that other men were staring too. It suddenly made me murderous. Call me a beast but I possessive of someone I didn’t on yet. I sat in silence, still with my bourbon in my hands as she surveyed the room probably looking for a set of blue hungry eyes that belonged to the Don. I finally stood up after emptying the contents of my glass and taking slow steps to my soon-to-be bride and as if on cue, she turned around with a knife in her grasp when I stopped right behind her.
It didn’t take a lot to seize the finely crafted weapon from her before pulling her flush against me, my hands almost covering her back as I gazed into her colored eyes. Beautiful. “For someone who doesn’t want to marry me, you sure do bend over backwards to follow me around.” I mused out loud as she glared at me, struggling to break free of my hold. I could feel other weapons underneath her dress because of how close she was to me and soon, a smirk formed on my face. “Do you really think you can kill me Sofia Bianchi?” I asked and immediately after, gunshots were heard.
I was pulling Sofia to the ground and finding myself using my body to shield her’s before anyone could get hit. Ferdinand had gotten into the lounge and was soon shooting at the attackers. Damn, the one time I didn’t have security. Leonardo will definitely have to answer to this bullshit once it’s over. I thought as I took out my gun from my suit pocket but little Sofia already had a gun of her own in my face. I missed the bullet by a hair’s breath, muttering curse words as I took the gun from her, pinning her hands over her head. “Let’s play nice till this is over Bella Mia.” I felt her struggle underneath me and realized she had other plans. “Fucking fine by me.” I muttered, right before raising us to our feet and hauling her over my shoulders.
Ferdinand had already appeared beside me, covering for me as I carried Sofia to the bullet proof SUV parked outside the club. However, before we could get in, a bullet grazed me and Sofia managed to wriggle out of my hold and shove me to the ground. She ran a few steps away from me, panting as she called her friends. “Josh! Are you guys okay?? Is Tabitha with you? What? She never came into the VIP section! Where the hell are you? Have you spoken to Kai? Maybe she’s with him. Call her and find out! I know, but- No, shut up! I can handle myself!” She screamed into the phone as I tried to register her words.
Soon, 2 men gripped her, pulling at her clothes and trying to get her into a car. I pulled out my gun and shot at them, not missing their heads as they fell to the ground and Sofia screamed in pain. I ran to her and carried her forcefully into the SUV as I bled from my arm. Leo will fucking pay for this betrayal. I put Sofia in the backseat beside me as Ferdinand drove off. She was still struggling in my arms and trying to cover herself up and her chest was almost on full display.
‘Here” I gave her my jacket and she glared at me before accepting it and covering herself with it. “Where are you taking me? I want to see Kaizen and my friends. Let me leave.” She said in short breaths, sounding like she was about to pass out. I hated how she didn’t group Kaizen as part of her friends. “Let me fucking leave!”She screamed, clawing at my face and almost giving me a hard blow to the face.
“Sir, your arm.” Ferdinand said from the driver’s seat as I tried to hold Sofia down. “Diane will look it at when we’re back at base. Sofia, you’re friends are safe so just stay still till I can get you sent back home or I might have to knock you out and that won’t be pretty” I wouldn’t have actually hit her. I don’t think I had it in me to hit her. I never hit women in general but that wasn’t exactly the reason I couldn’t hit her. “Fuck you!” she continued to struggle in my hold, frustrated by how strong I was compared to her until she finally passed out from exhaustion.
I contemplated taking her home with me as I stared at her unconscious face. Her skin was so pale, almost as white as snow. Her lips, full and perfect. I hated how I couldn’t see those perfect green eyes stare into mine. We were supposed to meet for dinner the next night to discuss the conditions she had for me regarding the marriage, according to Luca. “Sir, we’re here” Ferdinand spoke and I looked up to see Sofia’s penthouse. I let a sigh escape my lips as I ignored Ferdinand’s request to take her up himself as I was injured. Thankfully, it wasn’t too serious and I could use my arm.
I navigated my way into the rooms and I tried to find her personal room. It was… messy. Like she just found out about the club opening last minute and struggled to find something appropriate. After keeping tabs on her and the numerous attempts for my life, it sounded like something she would do. A smile crossed my face as I set her down onto the bed. I took my jacket off of her, knowing she would hate me a little more if I left it with her and instead used her duvet to cover her properly, making sure not to move her too much. I took my time taking off her heels and removing the other weapons she had strapped to her thighs.
I willed myself not to touch her, even if it was to massage her overly pink feet that seemed tired from the night’s events as I strolled around the room, avoiding stepping on her garments that were thrown on the floor. On her desk was a case file of a boy named Marco Hernandez. He had pneumonia and a brain tumor. While staring at the file, I got a call from Luca. I let the phone ring a few times before picking up. “Yes?” “Is my sister safe?” Came his question, masked with calmness when I could tell from over the phone that he was very close to having a seizure. “I’m in her room. She passed out from exhaustion. I’ll send a few men to watch her house when I leave.” I didn’t wait for a reply before I ended the call.
I dropped ‘little Marco’s file’ as she labeled it, making a mental note to make sure he lives. I took slow steps to Sofia, moving my face close to her’s as I placed the finely crafted weapon she almost used to kill me back in her hands. After taking one more glance at the room, I left her house with 20 armed men positioned in front of her house.
