Salon Day

I was prepping my station for the long salon day I was expecting. The first person I had to do was Taehyung. Coloring his hair will take some time, then I would have to move on to the next member while his hair is processing. Then someone walked in. It was a man with a barber kit ready to go. I said, "Hello. My name is Park Eunji. A pleasure to meet you..."

He smiled at me, "Lee Minho. I'm a barber and will officially make the BTS styling duo a trinity."

I laughed, "You must get confused for the actor a lot."

He chuckled, "I do. One look at my resume and employers are confused."

"So, I take it you already met Mi Ho-unni?" I asked.

"Yes and she's a delight." He said, chuckling.

"How long have you been a barber?" I wondered.

He pulled out his tools and began to explain, "It's been at least...7 years since I started."

I looked at him with wide eyes, "That would make you my sunbae. I've done this for only 5."

Then I was discussing what I had planned for everyone's hair. He smiled, "You've got some great ideas. We'll work well together."

Then as if on cue, BTS walked in. Jimin and Taehyung sandwiched me into a hug, "Hello, Noona."

I tried to get out of it, but these boys are definitely stronger than they look. Yoongi pulled them off of me, "How can she respond when you two are invading her personal space?"

They looked at me and said, "Sorry, Noona."

I chuckled, "It's ok, guys. This is Lee Minho-sunbae. He's going to be our barber."

"Lee Minho? Like the actor?" Taehyung asked.

Minho-sunbae laughed, "Yes. I get that a lot."

I clapped my hands together. I didn't realize how loud the clap was until I noticed everyone but Yoongi flinched. I said, "Sorry about that. Now, Taehyung, I'm starting with you."

Taehyung happily sat in the chair. I began to inspect his hair. He clearly had a haircut before now, so there was no need to trim off any more length. I finally said, "We're changing your hair color. Is that alright with you?"

Taehyung smiled, "Yes. My fate is in your lovely hands, Noona."

I chuckled, then started to pull out the parchment papers I made to match the length of his hair. Minho-sunbae asked, "Is he always that charming?"

I nodded. Minho-sunbae started on Namjoon's hair. From what I could see, it was coming out better than I pictured. I said, "Are you a mind reader, Minho-sunbae?"

He shook his head, smiling, "I was just thinking about your vision and the client."

Namjoon laughed. I finished with applying the color on Taehyung's hair and I told him, "I need for this to process, then I'll wash and style it later, ok?"

Taehyung nodded, then moved to the side and started to play a game on his phone. I asked, "Who's next?"

Jimin and Hoseok were trying to decide who would be next, then Yoongi just sat down. Hoseok whined, "Hyung, why?"

"You were taking too long." He stated simply. I laughed and began to look at his hair. He clearly hasn't trimmed his hair in a while.

"Were you waiting for me to trim your hair again?" I asked him.

Yoongi looked at me, "I'd rather it be you than some other stylist. They tend to cut off too much hair."

I smiled and picked up the cutting shears. I didn't cut off more than 0.64 cm. After that, I styled it to make it seem more presentable, which I felt terrible because for the entire video, his hair will be covered. Yoongi looked at me, "What's the matter?"

"I just feel bad because for the entire mv, your hair will be covered by either a hat or a bandana," I answered.

Yoongi chuckled, "Don't worry about it. People need to see my swag."

I laughed, "Get up!"

He got up, still chuckling at me. Instead of waiting, Hobi sat in rather than wait for Jimin. When Namjoon was finished, Jimin walked over to him. Hobi's hair was easy to style because his hair seemed to be trimmed recently. I checked on Taehyung's hair to see how it was processing. The color was coming out well, but I said, "I need to do Jungkook, then I'm coming back to you, alright?"

Taehyung smiled, "Whatever you say, Noona."

I returned to Jungkook, who was waiting patiently at my chair. I noticed he hasn't had his hair trimmed in a while, so I started trimming his split ends. When that was done, I styled it. I looked at him and said, "You'll be a hearbreaker."

Jungkook blushed, "Do you think so, Noona?"

"Of course I do," I answered.

When Jungkook got up, I went over to Taehyung. I had him stand up so I could put a cape around him. I removed all the papers and Taehyung sat down in front of the sink. As I was washing his hair, he said, "You have a very gentle touch, Noona."

"When you've worked with different types of hair, including curly hair, you have to be gentle, otherwise, you'll ruin the client's head," I explained.

When I washed out the shampoo, the conditioner was next. While that was happening, Namjoon looked at his haircut and said, "Not bad."

Jin-sunbae was getting his hair styled by Minho-sunbae. When Taehyung's hair was done conditioning, I rinsed it out, used a hairdryer and ceramic brush to dry it, then I styled it. When I was done, I turned the chair around, "What do you think?"

Taehyung smiled, "I love it! Thanks, Noona!"

"You're welcome. Just use a color-safe shampoo and conditioner for hair care at home, then you'll be fine." I answered.

I looked at everyone. I just smiled, "It'll be a fun photoshoot for the album jacket."

Mi Ho-unni chuckled, "I couldn't agree more."

Yoongi walked over to me and said, "You'll be doing our makeup, right?"

I nodded, "That's right. Don't worry. Your 'swag' will be on full display."

Yoongi chuckled, "You're mocking me, now?"

I shook my head, "No, just establishing some reassurance."

Jimin hugged me from behind, "I trust you, Noona."

I laughed.
