Chapter 1

Carina pov

“You’ve got to stop getting in trouble”, Rosetta said, making me nod absentmindedly and stare at the window. Apparently, the foster family I used to live with passed away. Well, except their son Blaze. He was like me, he was adopted by a Mafia family. The last I saw him, he was sent to Juvie and after that we never really kept in touch.

Anyway, back to the story. So my dad and brothers, whom I just found out exist, are taking me in and letting me live with them.

“How long till we’re there? I don’t want to keep you away from your job for too long”, I asked. Rossetta is an FBI agent.

“You aren’t and I can't miss seeing you reunite with your family”. I lean my head on the window as I feel sleep over taking over my body, leaving me to dwell on my terrible past.

Third Person's pov

Nicholas stood with his back facing the streets of New York, he couldn't describe what he's feeling. Hell, this the first time he's feeling anything in a while. His daughter is back and, more importantly, alive. We thought she was gone. How will his sons react? What is she like?

A knock rang through the office causing Nikolai to move towards the door to let them in. His four sons entered the room and sat down waiting for their father to tell them the news.

“We found your sister and she’s coming here”, Nikolai sprung on them.

Silence suddenly filled the room. All of the sons were speechless and were gaping at their father.

Carina pov

”Carina, wake up”, Rosetta whispered. I groaned and sat up while looking at the huge Mansion in front of me. I took a deep breath to steady myself as I was slightly nervous. This is it. My family. It felt weird to call them that because I never had a family. My whole life I was between abusive foster homes. Rarely getting a break. My social worker didn't care and never did anything to stop it. But I endured it and it made me strong.

I got out of the car and took my small suitcase from Rose and started walking to the front door. I suddenly stopped to turn to Rose and give her a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed my forehead

“Take care, i’ll miss you” she whispered, letting her arms linger around my body for a moment before entering her car driving away. Rose has helped me in so many ways, I’m glad she is there for me. However, she does not know about the abuse.

Using the little bit of courage I had left, I walked up the black marble door and rang the bell. I felt it vibrate against the whole house, I tapped my foot on the floor and hummed a song I knew while waiting for someone to open the door.

After what felt like eternity, someone finally opened the door and I looked up to see a man who looked to be in his late twenties. We stared at each other, his green eyes never leaving mine. Flashbacks started to invade my brain as I recognize the eyes that always invade my dreams and nightmares.

“Welcome Back Sorella”, he whispered as he pulled me into a hug. (sister)
