Nightmare
I got home that night, grinning playfully like a kid.
Dante, as he said his name was, promised me to take me out of that shell and tell the world that I am his mate. But I have a little problem. Will he actually tell the world his mate is a weak omega? What if he is a high rank in the council or in the pack? What if his parents don't accept me as his mate? What, then?
"Hey, what are you thinking about?"
Standing in front of me was my sister. She stood not too far away from me, glaring at me with her arms folded.
I quickly shook my head.
She still stared at me suspiciously, "You were lost in thought."
"It's actually nothing, Veronica. I was just thinking of the stream." I knew better to come up with a lame lie, and I think she bought it.
She snickered, unfolded her arms, before muttering, "Pathetic."
She walked into the house, and I followed her behind.
"Veronica, you should get ready soon." Mom said, walking down the stairs slowly.
For what?
"Yes, mom." Veronica laughed, running up the stairs happily.
"And you?" I quickly dropped the basket I was holding. "I want you to wear a very nice dress. The Alpha is back to the pack, I don't want you embarrassing us with those rags on your body."
But you made me wear them. I wanted to say, but I nodded instead.
Veronica's fiance's back? The great Alpha I heard takes over more than two packs in different countries. I heard he is a mysterious man who doesn't like to show himself as much as other Alpha does. I have heard so many rumours that he has so many connections with prestigious elites all over the world.
How lucky is Veronica.
She would become the Luna of the most powerful Alpha in the world.
Well, I think I am also lucky. Though I won't get married to an Alpha, but instead, I will get mated to my one true mate, Dante. And he is not just somebody. He is handsome, kind, and romantic. I think I am the luckiest girl in the world instead.
"What are you doing standing there?!" Mom barked at me, and quickly, I ran to the place I do settle, the basement.
I quickly wore another pear of Jean and a top, styled my hair in a ponytail, and pushed my feet into a pair of slippers before running out to meet them.
Mom and sister were already heading out of the house, and quickly, I picked up their bags and luggage, walking out to meet them.
They both got into the car and left without me— well, a normal thing they do, leave me to deal with my transportation. They wouldn't like it when an Omega would be in the same car with them, a proud and prestigious family.
"Hey cab!!"
I hailed a cab, "The pack mansion, please."
"That would be four dollars." The cab driver said while igniting the engine. I guess he is saying that knowing that I am an Omega. He must have caught my scent and purposely increased the fees.
"Sure."
He didn't say anything after that. Instead, took me to the pack house.
Getting out of the cab, I stared at the magnificent view in front of me. The gate stood huge in front of me, a few soldiers standing out, their eyes on me.
They must be wondering where I am from and what I might be doing here.
Good thing I had my ID.
"Hello, sirs."
"Have you lost your way? The mansion isn't where anybody can just visit."
"I am with the family of the Gilberts."
I took the ID in my pocket, showing it to them.
One of them collected it from me and nodded at his other colleague.
I was allowed in, even with their intense stares on me. They still looked doubtful, doubting I was actually someone from the Gilberts.
The long stares didn't just stop at the guards. The people walking around the pack house wasn't left behind. They were all looking at me like I was a person who had just come out of the gutter. Their faces had an evident frown, and their eyes didn't disappoint me. They detest me.
"Ow!" I accidentally hit someone by the arm, "Sorry." I quickly apologized, but before I could leave, my wrist was being grabbed by the person. "Let go."
"I can't feel your wolf."
I took a closer look at the person in front of me. His green orbs glittered at me. it was a hunk standing in front of me, not too much of a hunk like my mate, but he was just like some other werewolves, but he, oozing a strong vibration of power.
Who is he?
I managed to get my hand off his, bowed at him before fleeing in.
"She is without a wolf, but why does she reeks of power?" I could hear his voice from a distance.
Power?
What the hell is he saying? I am powerless, and not even a little bit of muscle lives in me.
I stood in the middle of an empty hall, wondering where my parents were. Somewhere up there? In font of me was golden stairs.
Fuck! I have never come here before to know where the in-laws of the Alpha might be.
I decided to take the stairs, which I am sure would lead to nowhere.
"Alpha, I have missed you so much." Guess I never missed my way. "You had so many duties. I was worried you are gonna leave and not come back sooner."
I heard Veronica's voice down the hallway. She is somewhere in these so many rooms.
He is with the Alpha, that's nice. Turning around to leave, I caught my mate's scent.
He is also somewhere in this rooms.
Does he work here?
I quickly arranged my hair and had on my perfect smile as I walked down the hallway. I don't know what his reaction would be when he sees me.
"He might be shocked, or perhaps surprised? He might also hug me."
But what if Alpha finds out a wolfless Omega is with one of his workers. He might suspend him.
No.
I took a halt.
"But you have missed him, Ria."
Common, let's do it.
"I will be going back after the engagement."
"Please don't leave me, Alpha."
I could see her arms wrapped around a man, her head on his chest.
"Dante??"
