Chapter 5

Still Mikayla

"What?" I asked my brother when I got home, because when I opened the door he was the first thing I saw, he was sitting and looking at me seriously.

"She's with?" He asked brother Froilan.

"Two guys and two girls, Shiela is not with them and the guy...Kyler?." Brother Froilan answered.

"Because they left first." I said.

"No alcohol?"

"Brother, nothing, we drank juice. Even if you smell me."

"Go up and sleep, we still have a walk."

"At this time?"

"Yeah "Did you say goodbye to aunt?

"Of course." They answered at the same time "Okay bye.' I said and went up. Where are they going again?

I took a shower before going to sleep but sleep didn't visit me that's why I opened my social media account, the first thing I saw was Kyler's post, it was his new post. Picture of him looking into the distance. It didn't have a caption but it was obvious that he was sad. Did something happen? Could he and Shiela have a problem?

I read the comments. It looks like she and Shiela don't have a problem because based on her comment, she asked why Kyler was sad and Kyler didn't reply in her comment. I just got a sad emoji. I want to comment but what should I say?

Instead of scrolling I opened Kyler's profile. I don't know how many minutes I stalked it until I fell asleep without realizing it.

"Mikayla."

I turned to see who called me.

"Troy hi, where are the others?" I will ask.

"I don't know, I just arrived. Maybe they're already in the classroom. It's him." He said and took something out of his pocket.

"That's the voucher that Kyler gave, isn't it? "Yes..."

"Are you going to invite me?"

"I hope so, but I don't have time until the next day. Just use it before it expires."

"Huh? That's another couple, I don't have a boyfriend to take with me."

"Yes, what, alas...I wish I had a chance to date you, how is this?"

"It's mine, I'll just give it to Shiela, so she can invite Kyler." I said and took the voucher from him.

Troy walked me to the classroom and the three were already there. Maybe they couldn't wait for me so they entered. I woke up late again.

I was going to give the voucher to Shiela but the teacher has already arrived so it will be later.

"Guys, let's meet at the canteen, I just need to go to the rest room." Shiela said, her stomach looked bad because she was holding it.

I let Val go first because I was just going to get something from the library, after I got what I needed, just as I was leaving, I met Kyler, who was heading to the canteen.

"Let's go together." I told him with a smile. He's just serious. I'm not in the mood. "By the way, uhmmm Troy and I can't use it because he won't be available for a few days. Can you guys use it?" I said.

He looked at it and took it from me.

"Okay." He answered sparingly.

There is a problem with this. He walked so fast that I chased after him.

"You alright?" I will ask.

Hey? "Bye, be careful." Val said to me.

"Tomorrow again, bye." Tyra says goodbye.

"Be careful." I said before they got into a taxi. I was going to go with you but the road leading to us was different.

Shiela went first because she and her parents had to go somewhere. Troy also left, and Ken went his own way. Kyler? I don't know, I haven't seen it. Maybe go home.

"You're going home?"

I was surprised when someone spoke behind me. Speaking of Kyler, I thought he was gone.

"You're amazing." I whispered.

He smirked and looked at his watch. "It's still early, do you want to go out with me?"

"Huh?"

"I'm asking you if you want to go out with me."

"We're out here." I philosophize.

He silently laughed. "I mean maybe you want to go for a walk first?"

"Ye—." I couldn't finish what I was going to say because I remembered what I told myself that I would avoid him. I will forget my feelings and help Shiela.

"You said yes, there's nothing to lose." He said with a smile.

"W-what? Did I-did I say something? I still don't agree."

"Ouch! So you are rejecting me." He said and pretended to be hurt."

"C'mon Kayla, come with me." He said this and held my hand, he immediately hailed a taxi and we quickly boarded.

There was nothing I could do, I couldn't retreat any further.

According to this, he said he was bored so we were just here at the mall doing window shopping, I wanted to buy some things but I didn't have any money. Because I don't carry a lot of money.

Seeing the beautiful headband made me smile. I haven't worn it in a long time but I feel like I want to use it again. I tried that and looked at myself in the mirror, it suits me. I looked at the price but I was amazed because it was expensive! Is it gold? My money doesn't fit yet. I'll get back to you.

I approached the accessories, there was a bracelet that caught my attention, I knew it was expensive. If I go back to that, is there anything else?

"Miss, do you still have a lot of this collection?" I asked the staff and pointed to that bracelet.

"Oh, ma'am, that's the last one. Almost everything was bought. It's so beautiful." It said.

I snorted. "What a waste." I said.

I was so engrossed in the twist that I forgot about Kyler. I only remembered him when I saw that he was not behind me, I looked for him but he was not there.

"Kyler! I've been looking for you for a while, where are you from?"

"On the counter." He said. I looked down at his hand. He was holding a paper bag, he had bought something. "Are you hungry? Let's eat first." He says.

I thought we were going to eat here at the mall, but it turned out to be somewhere else. I don't know where, but when I saw where it was, my eyebrows met.

"Isn't the one on the voucher here? Why did you bring me here?" I asked him. He didn't answer. "Don't tell me Kyler you didn't invite Shiela?"

"She's busy, and it's another waste, isn't it? Let's use it." He said and went in first.

I was amazed when we entered. It's beautiful and it's obvious that couples are really fine. There are other customers, obviously couples and others are couples.

The staff greeted us and took us upstairs, to the rooftop itself. "Wow!" I exclaimed because the entirety of the place was clearly visible from here. The view is beautiful, it seems that your problems will disappear here.

I noticed that Kyler and I were the only two here, and it was only the same table. There is still a heart shape candle surrounding our table.

"Too bad, Shiela would definitely love it here if you brought her." I said.

"Can I have a favor?"

"Of course."

"Can you stop mentioning other people for now? It's our date Kayla, so I hope we don't talk about other people." He said "okay, sure." I smiled at him.

I took a deep breath and looked at the beautiful view again.

"Can we talk deeply after our dinner?"

"What are we going to talk about?"

"Just, so let's take a seat and eat?"

I nodded, he helped me sit down. What will we talk about later?

I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air. We finished eating but we are still here. I watched the beautiful view with a smile, never getting tired of looking at it.

I looked at Kyler who was already beside me. "Are we going home?" I will ask "You if you want to go home."

"Never mind, let's just stay here." I faced him. "Didn't you say we were going to talk about something? What is it?"

"Before that..." He walked over to the table and picked up the paper bag. "I know you want this so I bought it." He said and took out the headband I wanted to buy earlier.

"I can see in your eyes that you really want to take it." It said. He himself put it on my head. "Your thing." He said.

"Oh...but thank you." I said smiling.

"Huh? What's up?"

Smiling, he pulled out the small box and opened it. My eyes widened. The bracelet!

"There's only one left, right? That's why I took it."

He held my hand and put the bracelet on me. "Nice." I exclaimed.

"Just think that it's my early birthday gift even though your birthday is still far away." This is it.

"Thank you so much Kyler, don't worry, I'll be back." I couldn't get rid of the smile on my lips while looking at the bracelet I was wearing.

My attention turned to Kyler when his camera flashed. He was taking a picture of me. "You should have told me to pose, not a stolen shot."

"It's good even if it's stolen."

"One more, one more." I said and stood up properly and smiled at the camera, but my mouth was watering because he wasn't moving. "Kyler! You must have been stunned there. I know I'm beautiful, but hurry up." I said laughing.

He seems to have come to his senses and has taken one shot after another. I approached him and looked at my pictures. "You're like a photographer, your shots are beautiful. Pass it on to me." I said.

"As for the two of us, let's take a selfie." He said and put his arm around me. We both smiled. What kind of pose did we do? "Of course you should have a solo too." I said. "I'll only use this mine." I said and took out my cellphone. "Smile Kyler, show your killer smile." I said. "You are so handsome." I said.

"Kayla?"

"Hmmm?"

"Do you like Troy?"

I suddenly looked up. "Why did you ask that?"

"Just answer my question Kayla."

"I thought it was forbidden to mention other people's names on our date."

He just looked at me. I am not mistaken in what I see, there is sadness in his eyes.

"Kyler–."

"If you like him, I will back out. I'll forget my feelings for you, I will avoid." he whispered.

"But when Troy told me that he wants to court you, that's when I got alarmed, I didn't know that he also wanted you. I chose to keep quiet, I chose to let what I feel for you because Troy is my friend. We had a conversation about not competing with a woman. When he told that he is courting you already I was hurt, I'm happy for him but it's hurt." He said and pointed to his chest. "Seeing you smiling because of him, seeing you happy because of him is like stabbing me in the heart so I thought maybe you like him so I'll just avoid me but I can't do it."

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I can't take what's happening now. I didn't think we were the same, both avoiding feelings for a friend.

I opened my eyes and met his gaze. "I don't like Troy, I really only think of him as a friend." I said calmly.

The sadness disappeared from his eyes "You know let's go home, forget what you said to me and I will forget that too." I said, I was about to turn my back on him but he stopped me.

"Just a moment." He held my hand. "W-why?"

"What, why?"

"Aren't you going to say anything? Like Troy, I don't have any hope for you either? That you only think of me as a friend?"

"Kyler because Shiela is my friend."

"Done?"

"He wants you."

He touched my face. "But you're the only one I want, Kayla, how many times do I have to say that I don't have feelings for him. I can't repay his love for me because my heart beats differently." He caressed my cheek. "Just you, just you." He whispered and pressed his forehead to mine."

I gently pushed him.

"This can not be." I said trembling

"Why can't it? Is it because of Shiela? How can it not be, she's not my girlfriend."

I breathed one after the other.

"I understand." He says. "Maybe you really only think of me as a friend." He said sadly.

"No—."

"So what? Tell me so I won't get my hopes up."

"I want you Kyler, I've wanted you for a long time!" I couldn't stop myself, my tears started to flow. He was surprised by what I said. He was about to wipe my tears with his hand but I pulled back.

"Kayla."
