Chapter Six: The Kidnap pt. 2

When Arya woke up, her mouth was still stuffed; she could perceive the odour of a musty and damp room which assaulted her senses. She tried coughing but it was not a pleasant experience.

Her eyes had a blindfold over them and her hands and feet were tied with chains which clinked against each other as she tried to move.

"She's awake, get the boss." A gruff voice could be heard followed by a sharp march of feet, then the creak of metal doors. After that, everything was silent.

Her mind wandered to the events of the night and she shivered, wondering what her fate would be. She was not the daughter of some wealthy billionaire so surely, these people could not make any substantial ransom.

Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind.

What if these people were her step father's creditors? What if they had kidnapped her to get her step father to pay his debt?

She wanted to scream and curse because of that was the case, then she was doomed. Her stepfather did not care about her.

Distant voices of men in Italian could be heard she knew the door was being opened again because of the creak.

"Ehi, siete stupidi?" Came an angry voice followed by the resounding of a slap. "I need her in good condition, why is she like this?"

Her blindfold came off swiftly and she was confronted with the presence of three heavy looking men. The one who seemed to be their leader was handsome but with a scar running down the left side of his face. He wore a T-shirt that revealed arms filled with tattoos and had a look of annoyance on his face.

"Boss, I know the purpose in which you bought her requires her to be in good condition but I thought it would be fun if we show that fucker her condition."

Arya looked at the man who spoke. If this man had a dollar for every visible scar on his body, he'd be a billionaire.

"If he really wants her, we'll know from his reaction. I feel like the bastard lied to us."

She was confused. Who was this 'f*cker' that these men spoke off? She had a hunch it was her stepfather which made her heart sink. He was never going to come for her and these people surrounding her looked dangerous. What were they going to do with her if he did not pay up or come to her rescue?

She could feel tears sitting at the corners of her eyes, ready to drop down but she would not give this men the satisfaction of seeing her cry.

"Ah," the leader smiled, revealing a missing tooth. "I like your thought process. Let us make her look worse then."

"Shall we do it tomorrow boss?" the man with a million scars asked. "By tomorrow hunger will show in her eyes and she will look battered. After that, we can take care of her to make profit."

"Sounds good," the leader grinned, then touched her face, removing the gag. "Hey beautiful."

"Get your hands off me," she spat, wishing she could slap his hands away. The man made her skin crawl.

Anger flashed through his eyes and his hands wrapped around her throat painfully. "Be careful of how you speak to me you bitch!"

"Don't touch—" her words were cut off by a resounding slap.

Something was out of place in the bar and Juan could tell from the moment he walked in. His eyes scanned round lazily, looking for the green eyed beautiful waitress but she was nowhere to be found. He walked towards Hernandez at the bar table, "Where's she?" he asked.

"No idea. She hasn't shown up since and her phone is out of service," Hernandez said pouring Juan a drink. "It's unlike her."

"She didn't call in sick or anything?"

"No, she didn't."

"Where's the staff log book? I need her address."

"Boss why would you bother?" Hernandez could not help but ask. "Are you going to..." Hernandez trailed off at this point suggestively. "Because she skipped work?"

"I'm not harming her," Juan scoffed. "She's just a waitress."

"So why do you want to know where she lives?"

"You know what, never mind," Juan grinned. Diego had mentioned that she was his daughter and they still lived together. If that was true, he knew where to find her.

Just then, Diego walked into the bar with a grin and slid on a stool beside Juan.

"Speak of the devil," cursed Juan.

"We were speaking of him?"Hernandez was confused.

"No," Juan rolled his eyes. "I was thinking of him."

"Thinking of me?" Diego whistled. "Boss, I didn't think you were into men-" he did not complete his statement before his head was slammed into the table.

"Ow, boss! That's no way to treat—" Diego shut up upon seeing the look on Juan's face.

"Where's your daughter?" Juan asked.

"She didn't show up at work?" Diego raised his brows, pretending to be surprised. "How strange."

"So she's at home?"

"I don't know man, that doesn't matter," Diego shrugged. "I've got your money," he smiled.

"Where did you steal it from?" Juan inquired. There was no way that Diego could raise two millions dollars overnight.

"I didn't steal it," Diego grinned. "The gods smiled upon me. Actually, the gods have been smiling on me but I've been stupid."

"Where'd you get the money?"

"I trade you know," Diego smirked. "You're not the only one who I can do business with."

Juan narrowed his eyes at him, the pulled out his work phone that had vibrated. There's was a text from an unknown number.

I have her.

Beneath the text was a picture of Arya looking dirty, battered and bruised. Her eyes were swollen and her cheeks looked sunken as well and Juan's heart dropped in his chest when he caught sight of foot in the picture, marked with a special tattoo.

Pretty darn cheap to get. Another text came in.

Slowly, Juan looked up at Diego and in a low growl, he asked; "What the hell have you done?”
