Caelum
Her eyes filled with tears before she nodded yes. I had to defend her on Vincent's behalf, but I didn't have to be kind about it.
"Bring her back and lock her up in a room. She must be under continuous observation.
"I knew he felt the same about her as I did," said Franco.
"Is that understood?"
"Yes, Don." He nodded at me, then pulled the woman from the closet by the arm. I didn't miss Manuel's gaze at her as he was right behind her. He wanted to assist her. That woman wasn't getting any assistance. She would pay for my cousin's death.
"Manuel get the fuck over here!" My voice always had a commanding tone that could not be ignored. These men were accustomed to following my commands since I was only above Vincent and my uncle. They were also aware of how harsh I could be when there was disobedience.
"Yes, Don." "Isaac!" I heard her tiny voice yell as she wriggled free of Franco's grasp and rushed to the bed. Follow his instructions, Sol. This is not a joke. Isaac was so pale that he seemed to be already dead, but he still made an effort to assist her. Manuel and he needed a reassignment far away from her, I suppose.
"Are you ok?" she questioned, her eyes full of tears, disregarding his caution. By the slight trembling that began in her body, I could tell that she could feel my wrath, and I was now right behind her.
Her head slowly turned in my direction, meeting my frigid gaze, which was filled with unadulterated malice.
"Do you think you don't have to listen little girl?, Among lions, you are a frail, defenseless kitten. We could eat you in one night without any regrets," I said with a little grin.
"I apologize. I simply wanted to know if he is all right?" She spoke softly, averting my gaze. I will take pleasure in defeating this useless girl who murdered my cousin. I squeezed her chin between my fingers.
"I don't give a damn. Everything you ever wished for is now irrelevant. Before I have to show you what happens when you disobey my instructions, learn to listen and follow instructions quickly.
"Yes, Lion. Understand little kitten," she replied in complete terror. I raised an eyebrow at her.
Was that supposed to be a lion? A joke? "I didn't intend for that. You called me a kitten and yourself a lion, and I apologize for being scared by you. I don't want to make any trouble, really. I'm simply frightened and clueless about what happened.
"You got everyone killed and now you will pay for it," she said nonsensically.
"Grab her!" I yelled, and I could see the sound reverberating throughout her body. A poor, helpless, and terrified little kitten. That woman was finally out of my sight after Franco pulled her away from me.
"Don, she doesn't know about us, or any of this," Isaac begged, begging me not to punish her.
"I don't care." Vincent is still dead. Manuel, take him to the damn doctor, and then you two leave my house. That girl will receive no kindness from anyone. I said, keeping an eye on the men as they washed over in terror for the little woman.
What about her made men wish to die for her? As I waited for them to disobey my instructions, my eyes got darker. With a nod of their heads, they both said, "Yes Don." That's right, fellas. Now that this is my domain, everyone will understand what a horrible fate awaits them if they pursue my family or disobey my orders.
