CHAPTER 9 :

I watch him, as he walks away, with his black cape brushes on the white tiled floor, following his feet closely behind. And, I watch him walk away, till he's out of my sight.

What secrets do you hide behind that face, Dravon Dark? My god, I'm going to be marrying a man who I basically know nothing about! This is surely not how I dreamt my future. I wanted hearts and flowers. A small, romantic wedding with someone who I'd like to spend the rest of my life with. But this wedding “thing” with him, is beyond insane.

I probably need to go back to sleep, for tomorrow's gonna be a big day for me.

I walk to my room, as I close the big doors. I sigh, and I get up on the huge bed, and drift off to a sound sleep.

"Wake up, Mr. Grey." I hear a masculine voice, as I rub my eyes.

"What time is it?" I ask, without looking up to see who it is.

"It's 7 am. We need to be in the church by 8. Get up. The quickly you get ready, the quickly we get out of there and start our investigation about the curse. And the quickly we find the person behind all this, the quickly you'll be free of me." I get up as I sit on the bed, as I spot Dravon speaking to me, standing near the bed.

"Okay, I'll be ready. Are there any specific clothes which I should wear?" I ask, getting out of the bed.

"There is a white tuxedo in the wooden closet. You should wear that." He points towards the closet beside the bed.

"I don't like the colour white." I frown at him.

"Neither do I. I'll be wearing the black tux, so you need to go with the white." He says, as a matter of fact.

He looks at me with sheer indifference, so much so, as if I weren't even a human. The way he looks at me, the way he speaks at me, is probably worse than the way the devil treats his subjects.

Something is so cold and distant about him, that it makes me feel like a worthless sub-human. I wonder, what is wrong with him. Does he not know how to treat people? Ofcourse, a monster like him wouldn't know how to behave with people.

My hatred for him will keep on growing, and these six months with him are going to feel like six years. But, I need to do this for Jamie. Dravon walks towards me and within some seconds, he's standing so close to me that I can feel his hot breath on my face.

"Listen, Grey..." He proceeds, as he grasps the collar of my shirt and pulls me further close to him. Oh no.

"What?" I murmur, trying to conceal the nervousness I feel when I get close to him.

"Till you hate me, everything is going to be fine. I'll be even happier. And I hope that you'd continue to do so. But, feed that hatred of yours every day, so that it never goes down. Because, the day it goes down, your doom wouldn't be far away." His voice is low, but it's almost like he shouted those words to me.

With that, he leaves the room, striding away. What is with him? What does he mean by warning me all the time? And what is he even warning me about? About him?

I brush my teeth, after which, I quickly put my white tux on, and slick my hair back. With one last look at the mirror, I exit my room.

When I put my foot out of my room, I see him, leaning against a pillar, staring at the distant horizon. I observe him for I don't know how much time, but, he seems so peaceful, without sensing my presence near him.

"Daemon." He remarks, startling me all of a sudden. He didn't even look back.

"How do you know that it's me?" I ask him, surprised, as he turns himself to face me.

"We vampires have heightened senses. I have known your presence ever since you stepped out of your room." He gives me a wry smile.

"Shall we get going, then?" I question him, as I look at how gorgeous he looks in that black tux. His hair is copper brown, tousled snd unruly. Freshly wet, from what maybe a shower. The tux absolutely complements his greek god body shape, as the material wrinkles around his muscles.

His eyes are a shade of dark red, clear and defined with a tinge of sadness behind them. And, oh, with that 6 feet height and those reddish lips to go with his appearence, makes him seem like a demi god.

"Absolutely." He speaks, as he walks out of the corridor, with me tailing behind him.
