Your life belong to us

Chapter 2

"Here's your room," The lady says to her with a deep frown on her face after she took Ariel into a large beautiful room. The room is just like the types she has only seen in movies. She never imagined that she'd see this type of room in her entire life, and to think she's going to be sleeping here, she can only be happy that it's more comfortable than her small room back in the house, but also scared of what is going to happen here.

"Thank you," She says to her politely, but the lady only ignores her. It's already getting confusing at this point.

"That's the bathroom there. Go have your bath and join me downstairs. We have something to discuss," The lady says to her casually, and she slowly nods her head. As much as she wants to ask her some questions out of curiosity, on a second thought, she conclude to let this rest for now. Besides, not that she will be leaving here anytime soon, that is if she's ever going to be leaving, anyway.

She watches as the lady turns and walks out of the room, slamming the door behind her as if she's angry or something. Isn't she the same woman that was cheerful back in their house? This is creepy.

Finally dragging her feet into the bathroom, her mouth drops open in shock at the sight that welcomes her. The bathroom is so large and beautiful, almost two times her room back in their home.

A few minutes later...

Walking back into the room, she spot a short gown and some undies on the bed. Here she was, thinking that she'll wear the previous dress, but thank goodness that she has something else to wear. Her annoying stepfather didn't even allow her to take any of her clothes with her.

Stepping out of the room a few minutes later to go meet the lady downstairs as she has requested, she strides down the hallway, but the sudden noise coming from one of the rooms brings her to an abrupt halt. The voice sounds like the lady from earlier, and she can't help but get curious about who she's arguing with.

"I told you that I was going to find my way around this, Alicia. Why did you have to do that?" The masculine voice coming from the room sounds so angry.

"What possible way, huh? We don't have much time anymore, can't you get it? We both know how much this means to you, and I won't want to be the reason you would lose everything. I'm doing this for our future, and I hope you understand it," The lady's voice who she presumes to be the Alicia woman, tries to explain to the man.

She tries to comprehend what's happening, but nothing is coming through.

"Alicia..."

"I know you love me, Maxwell. Just do this for me, for us, and our future. I know how much it means to you, and I wish that I can help, but I'm handicapped at this point. I am not against this, OK?" Alicia's calm and sweet voice sounds from inside again, and Ariel sigh in confusion. Now, everything is becoming a puzzle she can't even think of solving because it's so damn difficult.

About to leave, the door suddenly pulls open, and she raises her gaze to check who just walked outside, but her mouth drops open in shock at the sight that welcomes her. The young man standing before her is what one can refer to as a demi-god. The spark in his gray eyes melts the coldest hearts, his elegance is everything that makes him perfect, she can't help admiring his thick black shiny hair that is clinging to his head with some strands resting on his forehead. He's the most handsome man she has ever seen in her entire life, and her breath is already feeling hitching. Who is he? Her boyfriend? Her brother? Oh, no, he can't be her brother.

"H...hi..." She finally finds her voice after about a minute of staring at him, and he only glares hard at her before walking out on her.

She stares at him until he's out of sight, and even his walk is perfect. Judging from his look, he can't be more than thirty-three years old. Don't ask how she knows about that. Reading people's age is one of the gifts she has, though it's not an achievement.

Taking a deep breath, she proceeds downstairs where she meet him sitting on the couch with his legs crossed while having all of his attention on his phone. Now, she's feeling like she's not wanted here. Besides, she's coming to work as a maid, so what does he care? She concludes, though Alicia has her yet what she was brought here to do anyway. But there's no other job that's usually available in a mansion like this except working as a maid.

The moment feels so awkward as she sits on the couch across from him and stare at him in admiration. How can someone be this cute and perfect? Even with the frown on his face, he still looks super hot, how will he now look with a smile on his face?

The sound of the footsteps descending the staircase pulls her attention, and she tilts her head to see the Alicia lady coming to the living room. She walks over to the man and slumps beside him on the couch. Now, Ariel is getting curious about why they called her here.

"What's that your name again?" Alicia asks her, breaking the dead silence.

"Ariel Williams," She replies to her, after glancing at the Maxwell guy for no reason.

"Alright, Ariel. I'll go straight to the point. As I said, I have a job for you..." Alicia pauses, and adjusts on the couch, while she stares in curiosity.

"My husband and I have some difficulty having babies, so you're here to help out," Alicia finally spills out, and she blinks her eyes confusingly, wondering what she meant by that.

"Huh?" Her eyes slowly widen in shock as her words replay in her head a couple of times, sending waves of confusion to her. What does she mean by that?

"You can't say no to us, because I have already settled it with your parents. You now belong to us..." Alicia pauses and sighs briefly.

"You're going to get pregnant for my husband, and when you give birth to the child, he or she will be mine. You won't have any right over her, and this must remain a secret between the three of us," Alicia further says, and her heartbeat stops for a while. Her whole world comes crashing down to her feet as she stares at her blankly. This is not happening to her, please. She can't do this.

"Before we proceed, we'll sign a contract..." Alicia pauses, then reaches out to the bag on the center table, and brings out a pen and white paper from it, pushing it to her afterward.

"Go through it, and sign it. We need to make this quick," Alicia instructs her, and she gulps down nothing. As much as she want to stand up and fight for her right, and refuse this, realizing that her greedy parents already sold her to this lady, her right has been sold to her, so she has no choice at this point. How did her life end up like this? How did she end up here?

With her hand trembling, she picks up the paper and glances through it.

"Rule number one, you don't get to deny my husband sex, until you get pregnant. Meaning that he can have sex with you for as much as he can until you carry his child. Rule number two, you must not leak the secret to anyone, and to avoid chaos in the future, you need to always present yourself as a maid if the need arises..." Alicia pauses and reclines on the couch.

"Rule three, the baby will be mine once he or she is birthed, and you won't have any claim over him or her in the future. After you deliver the child, you'll continue to work for us as our maid. When the baby grows up, you'll have to continue your unfinished business," Alicia further says, and she bats her eyelashes. So, she's only going to be their children producing machine? Now, this is unfair.

"Rule four, he is my husband, and I wouldn't want you attaching any feeling to it along the line. I can be crazy when it comes to my husband. You're here for a job, and not to fall in love with my husband," Alicia further says, and she glances at the man who doesn't look like he has been listening to his wife all along. What has she done to deserve this? Why she of all people?

"I'm taking you to the hospital, first thing tomorrow morning to check your health status. I need to make sure that you're safe for my husband," Alicia finally says, and she slowly nods her head. Not that she has a choice to say 'no' anyway.

"Now, sign the paper, and give it back to me," Alicia instructs her, and she slowly nods her head.

Reaching out for the paper, she picks up the pen, and with her trembling hand, she signs it and pushes it forward to her.

Alicia picks up the paper and attaches her signature on it, before pushing it to Maxwell, who reluctantly signs the paper too.

Here she was, thinking her life would eventually get better, but it seems like she was mistaking. Maybe it's her fate to suffer for the rest of her life...
