Chapter 1

Anna stood in front of her dad, tears flowing down her cheek. Her mum has been at the hospital for days now because there is no money for the surgery yet.

Mr. Perry has no other choice than to accept a marriage deal with a well-known billionaire in return for the money.

Anna was just coming back from her boyfriend's house only to see that she was being sold off.

" Dad. Please don’t do this to me. You can't just marry me off like that to someone I don't know.

With a somber expression, Mr. Perry listened attentively to his daughter, attempting to soothe Anna's distress.

"You don’t have a choice, I know how you feel right now, but this is the only way we can raise money for your mum's surgery. The date is fixed your dress will arrive soon”

"I don't care Dad. We can find other ways to raise the money. I can work 5 jobs. I will do everything to raise the money. But I won't accept this marriage”

Anna's dad placed his hands on his waist, determination etched on his face. "Okay, I know what to do," he said firmly. "You need to come with me to the hospital and see your mum." He gently guided Anna out of her room, led her to his car, and then drove them to the hospital.

As she entered the hospital room, Anna's eyes widened in horror. Her mother lay lifeless on the bed, unable to move or talk. Her eyes were swollen, and her skin looked pale.

Her heart sank, and tears began to flow down her cheeks. She felt a wave of sadness wash over her, and her knees buckled beneath her. She rushed to her mother's side, grasping her hand and holding it tight.

"Mom," she whispered, her voice shaking with emotion. "Please don't leave me."

Her tears fell onto her mother's hand, and she felt a deep sense of despair. She didn't know how much more she could take. Her mother's condition seemed to be deteriorating, and Anna felt helpless.

The doctor walked into the room, his expression somber. He looked at Mr. Perry, his eyes filled with concern. "Your wife's condition is getting worse," he said gravely. "If we don't operate on her as soon as possible, she might not make it."

Anna's eyes widened in horror as she listened to the doctor's words. She felt a surge of panic and desperation. She stood up and grasped the doctor's hand, her voice shaking with emotion.

"Please, don't let anything happen to my mom," she begged. "What do we need to do?

The doctor's expression softened slightly as he looked at Anna. "Make the deposit, and we'll do our best to save your mother's life," he said.

With that, the doctor turned and left the room, leaving Anna and her father in a state of anxious tension. She looked at her father, her eyes pleading for a solution. She knew they had to act fast to save her mother's life.

Her dad looked at her, his eyes sad. "This isn't just about your feelings, Anna," he said gently. "This is the only way we can save your mum. Try to understand."

Anna's expression was resolute, despite the turmoil she felt inside. She knew her father's words were motivated by desperation, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being forced into a decision she didn't want to make.

"I know, Dad," she said softly. "But can't we find another way? Please, there must be something else we can do."

Her father's face fell, and he shook his head. "I'm sorry, dear. There's nothing I can do about it. I have agreed to the marriage, and the wedding date has been fixed. It's tomorrow."

But then, with a sense of resignation, she nodded her head. "I accept," she said quietly. "I'm ready to get married."

The words felt like ash in her mouth, bitter and unwanted. But she knew she had to do this, for her mother's sake. She would sacrifice her own happiness, and her own desires, to save the woman she loved most in the world.

"Sweetheart, you know I love you,", his voice filled with emotion. "And I'm so happy you're willing to do this for your mother. Come, let's go back home and start preparing for tomorrow."

Anna's heart felt heavy as she nodded, trying to muster a smile. She knew her father was trying to make the best of a difficult situation, but she couldn't shake off the unease that had settled in her stomach.

As they walked out of the hospital room, her mind was already racing with thoughts of the wedding day ahead. She wondered what the ceremony would be like, what her groom would be like, and what her life would be like after the marriage.
