Chapter 2

That night when Damon came home, I immediately pretended to be fast asleep.

As he lay beside me, I smelled an unfamiliar scent—

Wild roses mixed with moonlight grass.

That was Mira's scent signature. It had been the same for over a decade, never changing.

And my Alpha came home drenched in my sister's pheromones. In wolf culture, this was the ultimate betrayal—pheromones are the most intimate mark between mates.

Damon gently embraced me from behind, arms circling my waist, warm breath falling on my neck—the wolf way of showing affection, identical to how he'd marked me this morning.

He murmured softly, "Lyra, are you asleep...?"

My throat choked with unspoken pain. I forced myself to maintain my sleeping posture, not letting any sound escape while desperately suppressing my wolf soul's rage.

He whispered in my ear, "Sorry I couldn't be with you today... you know pack business keeps me busy."

Busy being with another woman and their cub.

I squeezed my eyes tighter, tears threatening to break through but I forced them back down my throat.

The next morning, Damon left early. Before leaving, he gently scent-marked my forehead.

The moment the door closed, I shot out of bed and headed straight for his study.

I rarely entered that room. Damon called it "the Alpha's private domain," and I respected that, never intruding—now I realized how foolish I'd been.

I put on gloves and searched systematically—from drawers to cabinets, from file boxes to bookshelves.

It didn't take long before I found the first thing that sent chills through my body.

A photograph. Five people standing on the Blood Moon Festival viewing platform.

Damon, Mira, Kael, and... my parents.

My hand trembled holding the photo.

Father had one arm around Mira's shoulder, Mother leaned down playing with Kael—the cub's eyes already beginning to glow with an Alpha's golden light.

Each of their faces wore relaxed, natural smiles.

I kept digging and found more emails, bills, Moonshade Sanatorium records—

Mira's prenatal checkup expenses during her pregnancy, paid by my father's company.

The villa they lived in, located in the core pack territory, was property under my mother's name.

My parents were involved.

Not just aware—actively funding it.

What devastated me further was finding an investment report.

When I saw that one line of text, my fingertips completely lost their warmth: "Transfer to Silver Moon Gallery—Purpose: Art Space Construction and Wolf Culture Promotion."

The amount following the transfer was staggeringly high.

Silver Moon Gallery.

I searched it on my phone and discovered it was a gallery company under Mira's name, specializing in wolf pack art exhibitions.

What had once been just a small street-corner shop had somehow absorbed millions in funding.

And all that funding—

Came from my father's enterprise.

In that instant, countless memories flashed through my mind:

When I proposed opening my own wolf art studio to my parents, Mother frowned and said, "Making money is so hard, art should just be a hobby. You should focus on supporting Damon in managing the pack."

Father even said, "Lyra, stop thinking about these impractical things. Your Silver Moon bloodline should be used to strengthen the pack, not for painting."

And now, I could see clearly—they'd given another woman all the resources I'd requested, all the dreams I'd been denied.

That sister who had nearly killed me on a full moon night.

I controlled my emotions and picked up my phone, calling a friend.

The phone rang twice before connecting.

"Lyra? Haven't heard from you in so long, is something wrong?" His voice was steady and gentle as always.

"Finn... I need you to investigate someone for me. Mira Walker, my sister. Find out what she's been doing these past seven years."

Right after I hung up, my phone vibrated.

An anonymous number.

The message contained just one photo from that restaurant yesterday.

The image showed the three of them pressed close together, smiling brilliantly and happily. The little boy's eyes already displayed Alpha characteristics—a child that should have been mine and Damon's.

The sender included one sentence:

[You'll never know how long we've loved each other, and you can never be part of our future. The Luna position should have been mine all along.]

I stared at those words for a long time, my fingertips finally losing all warmth in that moment.

My inner wolf growled low. The Silver Moon bloodline began to awaken.

I collected every photo, every bill, every medical record carefully.

Then closed the study door.

In that moment, I truly transformed from a docile Luna into an awakened Silver Moon she-wolf.

The web they'd woven together—I would tear it apart with my own hands.

And the Silver Moon power sleeping within me was about to awaken.
