Chapter : 4
“Luna, the truth can be quite unpleasant, can't it? You've fallen from respect to worthlessness. With a malicious grin, I said, "Just imagine what these walls could reveal about the things people say about you when you're not around."
Luna screamed, tears streaming down her face as she collapsed to her knees. Luna was overcome by sadness, shattering her. It made me feel the urge to be sorry for her. Reflecting on everything she had done to me, I concluded she was not worthy of my sympathy. Luna's lips released another growl.
“How dare you disrespect our Luna and spread these lies, you worthless mutt? "You must depart immediately, Guards," Beta Tena shouts.
Two large, muscular guards suddenly emerged from the crowd in a matter of seconds. Standing next to each other, you would mistake them for twins.
“Get this bitch out of here now,” Beta Tena says, pointing at me.
Both guards came over to where I was. They grabbed my arm and were about to drag me off until I said “Wait a minute there more I need to say, Beta Tena, I know your secret too. The letter you went to great lengths to conceal, assuming no one would ever find it. I found it thanks to my excellent cleaning abilities. It was unusual for a Beta Lady to possess a hidden secret. However, who am I to make judgments? Since I am a slave. Beta Tena, are you going to spill the secret or should I?” I give her an ultimatum.
Luther asks his mom, "What is she talking about?"
"I have nothing to say, my boy. This mutt is upset because Luna decided to sell her. This mutt is trying to get even by making up these lies,” she informs her son.
A sigh escaped from me. “Really Beta Tena? so I just made up this lie? I knew you wouldn't confess, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and confess for you. Luther caught my gaze, his face a mix of confusion and curiosity. "Luther," I said, "your mother's secret is connected to you. I hate to break it to you, but as your friend, I think you deserve to know that the man you think is your father isn't your biological father," I explained.
"Wait, is this actually true, mother? Luther looks at his mother and asks.
Beta Tena scoffs at me, saying "Don't believe this bitch, your father is your father, no doubt about it."
“Beta Tena, there is no use hiding it, It's already out there. Should I be the one to reveal his true father, or will you?”
For the first time, Beta Tena was left without words, causing the crowd to start whispering while she stood frozen like a startled deer. Ms. High and Mighty lacks the courage to admit or take responsibility for her actions. The thought of Luther being devastated makes me sick. I am hoping for his forgiveness, but the truth needs to be uncovered, as they say, the truth shall set you free.
“Since your mother will not tell you, Luther, I will. Luther, your biological father is the Alpha,” I tells him.
The crowd's whispers grew louder the moment I spoke those words. Luna's face twisted with anger as she turned to Beta Tena, her fist clenched and her eyes shifting from black to brown. Luther's face displays a mix of shock and anger, a clear indication that his inner wolf is surfacing, as he gazes at his mother with hatred. Milo has the audacity to display toughness in front of the group, demonstrated by his growl that made everyone submit, except for Luther, me, and their mothers.
"This woman is a liar, Luther. Don't believe a word she says," his mother retorts.
“Beta Tena, insulting me won't be of any help now. Deep down, you know that I'm being honest, and I provided Luther with proof by handing him the folded paper from my bag. Luther was about to reveal it when he saw his mother trying to take the form from him. In a rapid motion, he yanked it out of her reach and retreated a few steps from his mother. From the aura, it was clear that he had intentions to harm his mother due to the lies. She can only remain standing.
Luther shouts, accusingly, "You deceive me!"
Beta Tena whimpered to Luther, claiming that I was deceiving them and the paper was counterfeit, while affirming her honesty.
"How on earth is Winter capable of doing this? The form is genuine, and I can see your name on it as well. A DNA test has revealed a 99.9 percent genetic match between myself and Alpha, while showing no match with my father. I'm shocked that you would treat dad like that. Now I’m have to tell him”
"That won't be necessary, Luther, as your father is already aware," I interrupted.
Lady Tena, filled with anger, exclaims, "How could you do that to me, you bitch?"
It was a straightforward process - I simply made a copy and sent it to him. If I hadn't discovered it, you would have kept this secret forever. I am most disgusted by the fact that you and the Alpha have ruined countless lives without taking any responsibility. You and the Alpha were engaged in a secret relationship, which conceive Luther. Embrace your womanhood, confess your wrongdoings, and embrace your destiny”
I directed my gaze to the Luna and spoke, "Luna, there's one more thing I have to share with you."
"And what the hell is that?" Luna fires back.
I respond, "The Alpha title belongs to Luther, as he is the firstborn, which means your son Milo won't be the future Alpha."
Luna's eyes changed color as she shouted, "He'll never be Alpha!"
"I'm sorry Luna, but I hate to disappoint you once more; Unfortunately, your pathetic son is not the Alpha first born. It's the law, so you're out of luck and can't do anything. Well, I overstay my welcome time for me to go now; Luther you are the only one I will miss, my dear friend. Embrace your alpha nature, take me away, boys”
While we make our way to a black SUV, a guard puts handcuffs on me. I witnessed the guard in front of me opening the back door. Just as we were pulling away, I witnessed an unbelievable sight: Luna and Beta Tena locked in combat. Alongside Milo, Luther, and the rest of the female wolves. Shaking my head and smirking was all I could do. Silence filled the car as I looked out the window, taking in the sight of trees whizzing by.
I heard a voice in my mind saying, "That was hilarious."
"Marceline, is that really you?"
"Obviously, there's no one else it could be."
"What brings you here? I thought you couldn't come out." I asks.
“The moon goddess granted me permission to come out occasionally, so there's no need to worry. I wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your performance at that pack”
“Those bitches got what they deserve.”
"Sweet revenge," Marceline chuckles, slipping into the recesses of my mind.
Marceline was correct regarding the satisfying vengeance. I can still recall the time when I was fifteen and she supported me after my first rejection, as if it happened yesterday.
Flashback:
A voice exclaims, "You must be crazy to think that the moon goddess would pair me with a worthless mutt like you!"
"What is the rationale behind not considering Esteban? Standing outside in the back of the pack house, I inform him that the moon goddess has a reason for matching us together.
"That was a mistake on her part. My reputation is important, and besides, I've already found my future Luna, and it's not you. With anger, Esteban shouts.
His words caused tears to fall from my face, as if a knife had pierced my heart, and then came the final blow that determined my destiny.
"I, Esteban Montgomery, the future alpha of The Blue Whisper pack, reject this slave as my mate and future Luna."
I respond by saying, "I Winter Cheshire accept your rejection, Esteban Montgomery, and I wish you all the best in life" before running away. Continuing my journey through the forest, I stumbled upon a river and chose to rest there, tears flowing as I gazed at the water. I was completely disoriented and lost in my thoughts. Since I didn't know how much time had passed, I chose to stand up and return as the sun was going down.
There is a voice that says, "Don't worry, child, everything will be fine."
As I turned, there was nobody in sight. I called out, "Who's there?"
“I am sorry, my dear child, scaring you was never my intention. My existence lies within the confines of your mind. I'd like to introduce myself; I’m your wolf Marceline”
"How is it possible for you to communicate with me? Have I not made the shift yet?” I asks.
“The moon goddess, allow me to come forward to talk with you because of what happened between you, and your mate.”
"Great, I'm probably a joke in the spirit realm."
“That’s not true child, when our mate rejected us, it agitated me I was about to rage out. The moon goddess, sharing in your pain and mine, compelled me to contact you early. She wanted me to tell you to be strong, and you will not endure this torture forever,” Marceline informs me.
"How much longer will this suffering last?"
"Regrettably, I'm unable to share that information with you." Marceline informs me.
“Is a shift coming my way in the near future?”
“The timing isn't right now, but you'll shift eventually. I cannot give you a specific time. I must depart, but first, what is your name?”
"I'm Winter," I responded.
“Nice to meet you, Winter; remember to be strong, cause when you be strong you can overcome anything. With those words, she retreats to the depths of my thoughts, reminding me that the moon goddess is on my side.
That made me feel much more relieved.
Flashback end:
Since that day, Marceline will come out every once blue moon to check on me; I also learned that I did not feel the pain of the mate bond break after Esteban rejected me because Marceline told me she took over the pain for me. Recognizing the struggles I had faced, particularly my father's betrayal, she warned me that if I were to experience that same pain, it could have been deadly. Therefore, she confronted it head-on. I shed tears upon learning about her experiences, as no one had ever done the same for me, and I deeply value her, for which I will forever be grateful.
Exactly, Karma had done its job, now off to the next adventure, wherever I take, I says to Marceline before I went to sleep, letting darkness take over.
