Catherine's Pov

"Who the heck is home?" I yelled as I banged the gate of the huge villa right in front of me.

I frowned as I didn't hear any response. What the heck was happening? Was anyone truly not at home?

No, that better not be the case, even if there was no one at the villa, there had to be some guards right? Then why the hell aren't they responding? Was it because I didn't bang it hard enough?

"Who the hell is home?" I yelled at the top of my voice as I put more strength into banging the gate.

"What the heck is wrong with you lassie?" A hoarse voice came almost immediately and two men walked out of the gate with a frown on their faces as they glared at me.

"What took you both so long to respond, I've been banging the gate for over the past ten minutes." I frowned, staring at them, fuming in anger.

The two security men frowned as they stared at me in shock and their mouth was twitching in anger. But then I couldn't care less about that, they had made me wait for too long and I wasn't going to accept that.

"Say, lady, what are you looking for?" One of the security men frowned as he looked at me after some time.

"Let me in, I came to see someone," I replied feeling rather annoyed with their questions.

"Who are you looking for?" The other security guard asked.

"Your boss, Lauren," I replied feeling rather impatient.

"Are you one of his flings?" The security man smiled as he looked at me.

"Flings?" I froze as I couldn't believe my ears.

Next, my anger rose as I didn't believe these men were taking me for Lauren's fling. Who the hell did they think they were?

"I'm not one of his flings, rather I'm his girlfriend." I frowned as I managed to suppress my anger.

"Huh?" Much to my shock, the two security men froze hearing what I said.

"Excuse me, ma'am, can you repeat what you just said?" One of them asked.

"Are you fucking deaf or didn't you hear what I just said." I fumed in anger.

"I said I'm his girlfriend."

Immediately, the two security men burst out laughing loudly which made me frown. Were these two imbeciles, didn't they know the meaning of girlfriend, or did I have to explain it to them?

"Excuse me," I frowned, calling their attention.

"Why the heck are you two assholes laughing?" I couldn't help but curse as I asked.

"Well then, we'd say you made a rather funny joke." One of the security men chuckled as he replied.

"Funny joke?" I frowned, feeling confused.

"What the heck is funny in what I just said?" I frowned as I just couldn't understand what was happening.

I said I was Lauren's girlfriend and yet, these two thought it was all funny and they began to laugh. Seems like they needed immediate medical attention.

"Would you two assholes stop laughing and tell me what's funny?" I yelled as I cursed when I couldn't take it anymore.

"Woman, we'd advise you to watch your tongue." One of the security men stopped laughing as he looked at me.

"Besides, our boss doesn't have someone like you as his girlfriend." The guard continued as he stared at me.

"We know all of his girlfriends and flings, so you are just an imposter and can't be allowed in." The guard concluded.

"Huh?"

I froze as I couldn't believe my ears, what the hell did I just hear? Didn't Lauren tell the guards about my existence and what was I hearing, he had other girlfriends and flings?

I took a deep breath and looked at the guards who were staring at me with a smile on their faces.

"You should let me in right away." I frowned as I looked at them.

"Woman, there's no way you're going in through this gate, get the hell outta here. You're an imposter as our boss doesn't have someone like you as his girlfriend." The security men sneered.

"No, I'm his girlfriend, you have to allow me in." I frowned as I argued.

"Woman, your vision is far off. It's clear that you're an imposter and yet you want to claim to be our boss's girlfriend." The guard sneered.

"I'm not lying, I'm his girlfriend." I frowned, feeling exasperated at the same time, annoyed.

"We don't care if you are lying or telling the truth, that's none of our business. All we know is that you're not our boss's girlfriend." The security men replied.

"Besides, there's no way you'll be his girlfriend. Our boss will never fancy someone like you, not in a million years."

I frowned as my expression turned ashen. What the hell did they think they were saying?

"You'd better allow me in there right now or else." I frowned.

"Or else what, woman?" The security men sneered.

"You'll regret it when Lauren comes back later," I replied.

"Even if the boss comes back, there's nothing you'll be able to do as you're not his girlfriend. We are very sure you're just an imposter." The guards replied.

"Besides, you're probably just his ex, as he came home with his girlfriend yesterday and the day before. We've never seen you, so you're just spouting nonsense."

My heart sank hearing what the men said. No, that couldn't be true. It was all a lie and I was sure about it. It was just that these men were all blockheads and were trying to stop me from entering.

I believed that was the case as I was sure Lauren would never betray me as he loved me very much. I was sure he would be very happy to see me.

Vroom!

Just as I was about to say something, a car pulled up in the vicinity right in front of the gate.

Immediately, my heart almost leaped out of my mouth as I was sure it was Lauren who had just returned. He has to punish these imbeciles that were disrespecting his woman
