Chapter 3
I checked the time and realized that it was time to head towards the library.
I walked out of the school and entered the small building next to it, where the library was located.
Inside it was quiet, what a surprise.
I purposely stomped to the second floor where I knew Benjamin would be seated and I got myself some angry stares.
"Stop stomping!" The librarian scolded me and I leaned back and put a hand over my mouth in "surprise".
"What? Me? I would never... Are you calling me fat?" I accused her in pretended furiousness.
I started to sob and the librarians eyes went wide.
"Sorry, that wasn't what I meant. Uhm... I'm sorry... Sorry" She repeated and I had to keep a laugh from escaping.
"It's okay..." I said, still sobbing as I stomped the last part up the stairs and felt a grin takeover as I looked around for Benjamin.
I finally spied him, sitting in a couch in the corner of the room. He was curled up and hid his face behind a book.
The couch was stood behind a bookshelf, so it was basically mission impossible to find the damned kid.
"Hi there Benjamin!" I cheered way to loudly, he looked up at me with a hesitant glare and I blew him a kiss.
"Have you missed me?" I purred in his ear as I sat down and he uncomfortably pressed himself to the end of the couch, desperately trying to get as far as possible away from me.
I laughed and leaned back in the couch, resting my legs in his knee.
He looked down on them like they were a pair of aliens and then slowly pushed them off him.
I huffed and sat down normally again.
"Well what have you chosen?" I finally asked, Benjamin looked up at me and then down at his notes.
"Uhm...I-I thought you could choose between 'how love makes you feel and why' and 'How love is presented in the media'..." He stuttered, nervously showing me his notes where he had circled the two headlines.
"I think 'Love in the media' could be interesting"
He looked up at me with a surprised frown and I had to bite my lip to suppress a laugh.
"Can I call you Ben?" I then asked out of the blue.
Benjamin was such a long name and it got annoying to say.
"Call me Benjamin" He muttered as he started to write in his papers again, any sign of nervousness was now turned into bitterness and I furrowed my brow.
"Oooh, I know... Benji! That's perfect" I smiled and I saw his eyes darken.
"Do not call me Benji" His voice sounded strangled and I furrowed my brow.
"Aww, don't be such a grumpy cat, Benji" I joked, pushing his shoulder lightly.
He didn't laugh though, he just glared at his notes.
"What did those papers ever do to you, ay?" I awkwardly tried to cheer him up and I high fived myself in my mind when I saw his lip tug at a smile.
"Okay then Benji, let's start with the introduction... How do we catch the audience's attention?"
At that he looked up at me and he opened his mouth hesitantly but then closed it again.
"What?" I pushed and he sighed.
"You're p-pretty good at catching people's attention, maybe... Err, maybe you could, you know, write the introduction...?" He suggested and when he finished his sentence he quickly curled up, almost as if he was afraid that I would yell at him or hit him.
"That would be perfect" I assured him and I saw how his tensed body relaxed a bit.
"You don't have to be scared of me" I laughed and he bit his lip and looked up at me.
Oh god, was that hot.
His eyes catches my attention and I felt myself getting buried in the forest green-
"Yeah, uhm" He snapped me out of my thoughts and I found myself wondering where the fuck those thoughts came from.
"What do you say about meeting me here again tomorrow? I have to study for Friday's math test" He looked chocked by this new information and I rolled my eyes.
"I don't want to fail any classes, if that's such a big surprise to you"
Fucking stereotypes.
"See you tomorrow!" I ran down the stairs and when I walked out I noticed that it was raining.
It was worse than the fucking Niagara Falls.
I ran to my car, desperately trying to protect my makeup from being ruined as I quickly unlocked my car and jumped in.
Just as I was supposed to drive off I noticed Benji walking out of the library.
He frustratedly looked around before stepping out in the rain.
I saw his hair getting soaked and his clothes got heavy from the water as it plastered itself onto his body, seeing as his shirt was white, it got pretty see through and I gaped when I saw the outline of his abs.
What in the world.
He walked over to parking lot and I furrowed my brow when I realized that he didn't stop by any car.
Was he planning to walk home in this weather?
Fuck it.
I honked the horn and I saw how he jumped, obviously startled.
He then turned around and his eyes landed on my car.
I opened up the car window and leaned towards it.
I cupped my mouth with hands to make my voice stronger.
"Would you like me to drive you?" I asked him and his mouth dropped open.
He then shook his head stubbornly and I rolled my eyes.
"C'mon Benji, just get in the fucking car" I laughed and he sighed before turning around and walking towards me.
He opened the passengers door and got in, next to me.
"Well where do you live?" I asked as I started to drive.
"Uhm... White rose's road 42" He said and I entered it in my GPS.
"Mind if I put on some music?" I put it on without waiting for an answer.
I looked over at Benjamin in chock as I heard him sing along to The Dragon Bones.
"You like The Dragon Bones?" I asked in an high pitched tone. I then quickly cleared my throat and chilled down.
"You like The Dragon Bones?" I then asked again and he nodded with a small smile.
"Nice" I laughed and I turned up the music and started to sing along as well.
"WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?" I started to sing way to loudly and falsely for my own good.
"IF I DON´T HAVE YOU" He answered and I looked at him in absolute chock.
He actually sang.
Loudly as well.
And he sang pretty well, really good actually.
What the hell?
"WHAT IS THE CURSES" I covered my surprise up by continuing to sing.
"IS IT TO ALWAYS BE BLUE" He answered to my song again and I was full on grinning.
When I quickly turned my attention from the road to look at him I could see that his hair was starting to dry again.
And it was curly.
Without all the gel his hair was filled with locks and I gaped in awe.
It looked absolutely amazing.
I was stunned to say the least and I quickly averted my gaze back to the road.
"We're here" I said as I stopped outside a cute old fashioned house.
The garden was filled with flowers that probably were screaming in joy as the water drenched them.
It was an extremely picturesque house and it was exactly where I imagined someone like Benji to live.
The opening of the car door snapped me out of my thoughts and I waved him goodbye.
"Thanks for the ride" He mumbled, before getting out of the car. I could see a small smile on his lips though.
I drove back to the house, feeling oddly happy.
I wasn't surprised to find out that neither of my parents were home, I greeted the maid as usual as I ran up the stairs and got my papers to study for tomorrow's test.
After an hour or two of frustratedly trying to solve the problems I gave up and went to bed.
I hate math.
