Chapter 005: The Greatest Shock Of Her Life

Vincent had already willed a great deal of his fortune for Camille. Why would he? Camille was barely his wife yet and he wasn’t even that old yet. Her heart plummeted. Millions of dollars and buildings in her name when she had only gotten into his life recently. Had Camille made him do this? Had she been deceiving him? She flipped through the pages of the document and a paper fell from one of the numerous pages. She picked it up and read its content.

Her heart sank harder as she comprehended the content. “Camille is pregnant?” She stated, more like a shocking question to herself which had already been confirmed in the papers. Was this why Vincent was going to marry her in two weeks time? Because she was pregnant?

Before she could dwell on it, another paper caught her attention—A medical report. What else could be in this? Her hand shook fervently as she grabbed the paper. What she was doing was wrong in every aspect. She was invading Vincent’s privacy and it didn’t feel right. But she had to do this to avoid running mad with unanswered questions in her head.

Her breath almost ceased as she took in the test result that from the date had been made four months ago. “Vincent Laurent—Stage IV pancreatic cancer” The words immediately blurred before her eyes. Vincent…Cancer… “No,” Her legs suddenly felt week beneath and she dropped to the floor.

Vincent was dying? It didn’t make sense to her. Apart from the obvious fact that Vincent was an enigmatic hot-looking billionaire, the way he consumed healthy diet had never gone unnoticed by Sarah. Infact, it was one of the numerous reasons she admired him— His healthy lifestyle. Maybe it was another reason why he looked way younger than his age.

Why would Vincent be diagnosed with cancer? He looked healthy and he never showed signs of weakness. Was this the reason why he impregnated Camille and willed a fortune to her? That made sense now. He needed all the loving company he could get before his death. Tears flowed freely from Sarah’s eyes as the sour feeling of the departure that was coming washed through her.

It wasn’t long that she lost her mother, now she would lose Vincent, the very man whom with him, she had felt and understood true affection. There was no point in casting a Camille to him now. He probably knew she had someone else and didn’t care, and the least thing he needed now was her giving him bad news.

Sarah spent the rest of the day crying and sulking in her room till evening eventually came. She had to honor Rafael’s invitation or she would lose her mind thinking herself to death.

*

Engines roared wildly in the old docks. The crowd were making noises, drunk on adrenaline, money, and danger. On a normal day, Sarah would hate this, but there was not other best way to distract herself from the chaos going through her mind.

She had just climbed off her car, scanning the area for Rafael, when two pairs of hand grabbed her waist, pulling her flushed into his body. “Knew you’d come, baby” He muttered, biting his lips charmingly. Sarah didn’t resist, instead, she grabbed his head and pulled him in for a hot deep-seathed kiss, not minding that there were eyes around them.

When they finally pulled apart, Rafael had a satisfying smile on his face, his eyes glinting with pure amusement. “There is no way I’m not winning tonight.” He claimed. Sarah simply shrugged and followed hun to the VIP seat. While Sarah watched the race unfold, all she could think of was having Rafael’s dick in her again. She needed it now more than ever.

After the match in which Rafael’s team won, she watched as different women were all over him to celebrate him, but his attention seemed to be far away from them. He didn’t waste time finding her. He crouched to her level on the seat, pairs of sexy hazel eyes boring into hers. “You saw that? I won.” He whispered huskily into her ears. Immediately, Sarah felt her pussy pulsed. There was something thrilling about the thought of having hot sex with Rafael after he had just engaged in a life-threatening race which he won.

It was like Rafael could read her mood. “In the car?” He asked almost breathelessly. “In the car.” She replied with a deep desire that matched his own. Immediately they got into his car, Rafael adjusted the seat and pushed Sarah onto it. The kiss was rough, wild, and filled with hunger for one another. Rafael didn’t waste time in pulling her panties off and ramming into her from behind. Sarah’s soft moans filled the inside of the car as he pounded into her relentlessly. “You are mine, Sarah” Something about how he said that sounded possessive, but Sarah, consumed with pleasure, was far from caring.

Meanwhile, back in Vincent’s mansion, Damian got in and met a restless Vincent pacing up and down the living room. His gaze snapped to Damian that just entered. “Have you seen Sarah today?” He asked, with so much concern in his voice.

Damian hesitated before speaking. “Not until this evening”

Vincent was taken aback. His commanding aura came to surface. “What do you mean until this evening? You only had a job, and that’s to watch over Sarah. What have you been busy doing? What am I paying you for?” Damian stiffened. Damian wasn’t one that cower in front of anyone, he was a ruthless ex-military with years of experience, but when it came to facing Vincent’s wrath which was rarely seen, he would rather not trigger it. Vincent wasn’t one to disappoint.

“That’s why I’m here, Sir. Rafael took her out.” Damian revealed. Vincent’s expression twisted to one of fury as Damian showed him evidence. His phone screen showed a picture of Rafael’s arm draped over Sarah, whispering something into her ears.

Vincent fury amplified, but that was when the entrance door creaked open and Sarah walked in. She was taken aback as she stumbled upon the two men whom looked like they were in the middle of a heated discussion.

“Where are you coming from?” Vincent asked, his eyes narrowing at her questioningly. Damian stood beside him, ready to interfere if need be.

“From a friend. You are not worried about me, are you? I’m sorry I missed your calls, I wa…” Her words was swallowed as Vincent flashed Damian’s screen in her face, the very one that showed Rafael and her.

Her gaze suddenly snappped to Damian with disappointment. “I thought I warned you to stay away from Rafael.” Vincent scolded, his height intimidating as he towed over her. Instead of responding, Sarah simply excused the two men and ran up the stairs.

She had kissed Damian to shut him up yet, he had ended up snitching on her. But that wasn’t the problem. Watching Vincent, life and active in front of her knowing that his days were numbered had broken her heart deeply. She wasn’t even concerned that he had seen that she went out with Rafael. She was just heartbroken that Vincent would died. After freshening up, drenched with water, she wrapped a towel around her body, ready to dry it. But that was when the door to her room opened without as much as a knock.

She had been too gone in her thoughts that the sudden sound of the door opening jolted her and made her lose grip on the towel on her body. By the door was Vincent, witnessing her totally naked. But instead of turning around or apologizing, he simply looked, and Sarah let him.
