Chapter 3. A lesson for his stepsister

The next night, Eduardo turned off the car and looked at his father's house. He let out a breath he had been holding, knowing that he had to pretend to be a good person in front of a woman just for her money.

"How pathetic!"

He got out of the car, more than angry, walked to the house, and opened it as usual. As he closed the door, he looked up as he always did to see if his father was there when he got home.

To his surprise, it wasn't his father who was there. In fact, there was no one there, only a female figure coming down the stairs. Eduardo stands still, watching as the young woman descends the steps.

He thought his father had gone too far...

Marlyn leaves her new room and heads for the stairs to look for her mother, but as she starts down the stairs, she realizes that someone is entering the house. She stops for a moment to look at that person.

He also stared at her intently, as if searching her soul. The situation made her feel tense and uncomfortable, and she continued down the stairs. When she reached the bottom, she noticed that the man was huge and had a very fierce look on his face.

She looks up and watches him cross his arms. Marlyn frowns slightly when he stares at her, as if judging her for something, but what? She wasn't in that house of her own free will.

"So it's you! I never imagined anything like this," Eduardo looked up and down at the brown-haired girl.

"Excuse me?" Marlyn didn't understand what the hell this stranger meant.

"You're the one who's involved with my father." The young woman's eyes widen. "I never imagined that he... Aren't you ashamed?" Eduardo complains, unable to bear the idea that this girl was his father's wife.

"What are you saying? I didn't..."

"Don't try to play the victim in all this," the CEO leaned toward her until his cheek brushed against hers. "You won't get away with anything."

At that moment, Marlyn feels her heartbeat quicken as she has this man so close to her. She becomes so nervous that she doesn't know how to respond. The truth is that the only thing keeping her tense was the extreme closeness of this man.

She freezes, but manages to look at him out of the corner of her eye and can see the intensity of his brown eyes. She could glimpse some green flecks that stood out quite a bit and made his gaze look like that of a lion.

Marlyn tenses up when she sees how he is looking at her. The young woman blinks and doesn't know why, but her whole body is shaking, even the parts that shouldn't be.

"Is that clear?"

"Eduardo? Marlyn? Oh, wow, you two already know each other," the CEO moves away from her while keeping his gaze on her.

"Yes, I've already had the pleasure, Father," he says as if he had done nothing wrong.

"I'm very happy. I just hope you get along, because after all, you are step-siblings."

Claudio smiles openly as he stands next to Marlyn. At that moment, Eduardo looks at his father with wide eyes, and the young brunette also looks at the old man with surprise.

"Half-siblings?" says the blond man as he looks at the brown-haired woman in front of him.

"She's Mirella's daughter... I didn't have time to tell you because you left home so quickly, but she's Marlyn."

They both look at each other in amazement. Eduardo never imagined that this girl was the daughter of his father's new wife. He had assumed she was his...

"Nice to meet you," she says in that sweet voice that makes him frown.

"Oh! Dear, my son has arrived. Come and meet him."

When the CEO turns his head, he can see that his father's wife is nothing like he thought she would be. In fact, she is an older woman, not as old as Claudio, but she is not a young girl like the one standing in front of him.

He looked back at Marlyn, who was looking away. He was going to have to talk to her alone to clarify certain points. No matter who the hell she was, his father had married a woman with a grown daughter, and it was clear that the inheritance was going to be hotly contested.

"Eduardo, it's so good to see you. Your father has told me a lot about you." The blond man smiled sidelong. The truth was that he didn't want to be there, but he was doing it for his company. He wasn't going to lose everything just because of a woman and her little girl.

"Yes, thank you very much for inviting me to dinner."

"No problem, this is your home. I just want us all to get along."

He nodded as he observed the woman's features. She seemed quite simple, not the type of woman who would spend her time in a clinic having her face done. He looked at his father and saw how happily he was watching her.

Eduardo looked away and noticed his new sister staring at him, but when he realized it, he turned his face away.

"Let's go to dinner before everything gets cold."

Claudio walked ahead with his wife, leaving Marlyn and Eduardo behind. She walked tensely toward the dining room while Eduardo looked at her out of the corner of his eye, noticing how small she was. Then he shook his head and wondered how his father had gotten involved with a woman who had a daughter.

During dinner, Eduardo didn't say much. He had little to talk about, and neither did Marlyn. The young woman concentrated on her dinner, although she had very little appetite.

"And how old are you, Eduardo? Your father told me that you already have your own business and that you are independent," he looks at the woman's face, she looks very similar to his daughter, except that she does not have gray eyes like his daughter.

"I'm 40, and yes, I'm quite independent," he said, looking at Marlyn, who widened her eyes when she heard his age.

"Marlyn is already 18, she'll be 19 soon," said the mother, surprising Eduardo, who thought she was a minor.

He looks at the young woman carefully, realizing that she is not a little girl as he thought, but he doesn't give a damn how old she is; both the mother and daughter are a problem for him.

"We hope you'll join us for her birthday celebration," Eduardo says, looking at his father, who just gives him a fierce look.

"Sure, why not?"

[...]

After dinner, Eduardo disappeared with the excuse that he had received a phone call. Meanwhile, Marlyn was bored of having to watch her mother smile at her new husband. So she excused herself and went to her room.

As she climbs the stairs, she wonders where this Eduardo guy has gone. It was obvious that he was very arrogant, nothing like her father, who was very kind. Well, that's what he showed her mother.

The young woman shook her head...

Her mother's decision to marry that man had been very hasty, especially the sudden move to the city.

"How annoying!

"What's annoying?" Out of nowhere, her body was pushed against the wall and Eduardo was standing in front of her, staring intently into her eyes.

"What are you doing?"

"What's annoying?" She frowned.

"Nothing."

She couldn't speak ill of his father; she wasn't sure how he would take it. Besides, if she went to her mother's husband with gossip, it could cause problems for her, and that was the last thing she wanted. It had been many years since she had seen her mother smile like that.

"Nothing?" Eduardo frowned as he stared into the girl's gray eyes. "So you're my father's wife's daughter.

"Yes. And don't worry, I don't intend to take any of your father's money.

"For your sake, for your mother's sake, and for my father's sake, it would be better if you didn't make those kinds of comments in front of them, do you understand?"

Marlyn stares at him. He's arrogant...

"I see that you don't like me, and neither does my mother.

"You're right, I don't like either of you, and I don't like you being here. But your mother is already my father's wife." Eduardo places a hand on the side of her face, causing Marlyn to tense up.

"I... I hope it stays that way and that you don't ruin that marriage."

The CEO frowns when he hears her speak, turns his face slightly, and thinks of something crazy, but it could be...

"Are you and your mother conspiring against my father?"

"What?"

"Is that it?" Eduardo holds her chin to keep her still while he looks at her. "That's why you want your mother to stay married to my father, to take everything away from him."

"You're crazy!" Marlyn breaks free from his grip. "Of course not."

They looked into each other's eyes. Eduardo didn't understand what the hell was going on, but that girl's face seemed so... so striking. As he held her chin, her lips were tight and swollen.

They were like a clear invitation to taste them, but why?

Meanwhile, Marlyn was petrified. That man was holding her face, and she couldn't do anything to get him off her. What the hell was wrong with him? She blinked several times as she looked into those brown eyes.

Eduardo concentrated so hard on those gray eyes that he ended up approaching Marlyn's lips without being able to help himself. Being so close to them, he brushed against them, and at that moment, an electric current took over his body.

His mind goes blank and he ends up tasting his stepsister's mouth, wrapping one arm around her waist and sliding his tongue inside her mouth, devouring her lips in a matter of seconds while pressing Marlyn's body against his.

The young woman opens her eyes wide and places her small hands on Eduardo's muscles as if to try to push him away, but it was really stupid; he wouldn't move away from a simple push from someone who had no strength.

She looks at the man's face, sensing the strength he shows as he kisses her. She can also feel how he is holding her close. Her body is so fragile next to him, who is huge and muscular. Her eyes slowly become smaller as the kiss becomes more intense.

Something was wrong with her...

By the time she managed to close her eyes, the image of her mother smiling happily with her new husband while she was kissing her husband's son came to her mind. What was she thinking? Did she want to ruin her mother's happiness?

She ended up pushing Eduardo away and quickly shook her head.

"What are you doing?" she denied. "Why did you kiss me?"

Eduardo had no idea why he kissed her, but the rush he felt from those lips overwhelmed him and prevented him from thinking clearly.

"This could ruin our parents' relationship."

"It seems like you care a lot about that," she replied angrily.

"Of course I do. Apparently, you're an idiot." She turns away, but Eduardo grabs her arm and forces her back to his side.

"Idiot?" he growled into her face.

The blond man looks down and observes Marlyn's swollen lips. Apparently, this girl's intentions were very clear. And surely his mother's were the same. He had to do something about it to teach those two a lesson.

And he intended to start with his stepsister...
