Alcatraz brothers

ALEX

I pushed through the back door of the club, the familiar thumping of the bass resonating through the walls. Tonight was different, though. I wasn’t here for another grueling shift. I was here to collect my things and give my resignation. The familiar smell of sweat, drugs, food, and drinks hit my nose as I walked in.

The locker room was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the chaos just beyond the doors. I grabbed my locker key and began gathering my belongings. My heart raced as I prepared to confront the manager.

Maybe I should get Gilda's help? Fuck!

I hadn't told Gilda too. My mind was overwhelmed.

I sat on the bench for a moment, letting the emotions wash over me.

I picked the remaining of my belongings and decided I would see the manager first and then Gilda.

As I approached his office, I could hear his gruff voice barking orders at someone. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door.

“Come in,” he growled.

I opened the door, stepping inside. “Hey, Mike, I need to talk to you.”

He looked up from his desk, irritation flickering across his face. “What is it, Alex? We’re busy tonight.” The smell of his Cuban cigar filled the room. He had just smoked.

“I’m quitting,” I blurted out, holding my ground. “I’m giving you my resignation.”

Mike stopped shuffling through papers and looked up. His eyes narrowed. “Quitting? On such short notice? You can’t just leave us hanging like this.”

I knew he would be mad. But fuck it! Life wasn't fair to me either.

“I don’t have a choice,” I replied, my voice steady. “My family is relocating, and we’re leaving Denver tomorrow.”

Mike stood up, slamming his fist on the desk. “What the fuck? You think you can just walk out on us? This isn’t how things work, Alex.”

“I’m sorry, but I have no other options,” I said, my frustration mounting. I stepped back. Mike was a retard and didn't care who he hurt to make his point.

Without warning, he grabbed my arm, his grip tight and painful. “You’re not going anywhere until you finish your shift tonight, Bitch. We're fucking busy today."

“Let go of me!” I yelled, trying to wrench my arm free.

His face twisted with anger. “You think you can just abandon us? You owe us more than this! You picked a fucking wrong night to quit, Alex."

Before I could respond, Gilda appeared in the doorway, her expression a mix of concern and fury. “Mike, calm down. Alex is going through a lot right now. You cannot afford to hurt her, please." She reached for his hand and gently pulled it away from me.

“She’s leaving us in a lurch!” he snapped. “We need every hand we can get tonight.”

“I understand, but she’s dealing with a lot now, please,” Gilda pleaded, stepping between us. “Cut her some slack.” She put a hand on Mike's shoulder and that must have done it.

Mike’s face twisted with frustration, but he finally relented. I knew he had a soft spot for Gilda. He wouldn't do any rash before her.

“Fine. You’ll get half of your remaining salary. That’s all you deserve for leaving us like this.”

He handed me the money, and I took it, feeling a mix of relief and resentment. Gilda guided me out of the office, and we moved to a quieter corner of the club.

“So, what's this about leaving?” she asked, her voice tinged with sadness.

“Yeah, tomorrow,” I sighed, trying to keep my emotions in check. “I didn’t have a say in this decision.” The tears were in my eyes now and my throat burned from trying not to cry.

“This sucks,” Gilda pouted, pulling me into a hug. “We didn’t even get a chance to properly hang out before you go.”

“I know,” I whispered, hugging her back tightly. “I wish things were different. It's a family thing."

She pulled back, wiping away a tear. “By the way, I desperately want to smack that drunk bastard across the face for daring to put his filthy hands on you.”

I shuddered, “Please don't remind me. Thank you, Gilda!"

I took the rest of my money that I had saved with Gilda and that night, exhausted to the bone, and sleep-deprived. But I still had to pack up, and we headed to the airport.

Imagine my shock, when we were led to the hanger, and the most beautiful, white private jet lay in wait for us.

I was stunned into silence when a line of beautiful air hostesses escorted us into the jet, doting on us and serving us the most luxurious meals and drinks I had ever seen.

Dad did not look fazed by any of this. Made me wonder, if I really knew him at all, what kind of background he had, and what kind of family he came from.

However, I was too exhausted to think too much about anything. After getting something warm in my belly, I drifted into a deep sleep.

By the time I opened my eyes, I was in a car, with the door open, instead of the jet. And mom was tapping me, a big smile on her face.

“Wake up, Alex. We're finally here. They're so eager to meet you, come!”

I was confused and disoriented, “W-who?”

“Our family! Look at this place, isn't it beautiful?”

I staggered out of the car, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes to see what the hell she was talking about. I nearly dropped to my knees. A gigantic mansion loomed a few feet away, huge pillars and sleek glass. Around the mansion, was a gated courtyard with sculptures, lawns and water fountains, that spread so far, and so wide, it seemed to have no end.

In front of the house, were a cluster of people eagerly waiting. But… towering above them all, were three men. Devastating men.

Familiar men.

My heart stopped.

Shock locked my bones and joints. My blood thickened in my veins, and air couldn't find my lungs. Because truly, those were the three sinful men… who had saved me from Noah. Standing right there, as my family.

"Alex, Noah," Dad said "Come meet My Family. These men are your step uncles..."

"Wh...what men, Dad?" I stuttered.

"These gentlemen." Dad gestured to the men from that night.

My mind went blank. For a few minutes, I was unable to hear anything else that was said as my mind tried to understand what was happening.

The men from that night... The Alcatraz brothers were my step uncles.
