Chapter 5

Tristan doesn't take her out of the house. So Daniel had only seen Stacey twice.

The first one was when Tristan forgot the document. Stacey was afraid of delaying his work, so she brought the paper to the office. In the face of Tristan's cold eyes, his little wife is just a headache... a disdain in his life, but Stacey does not complain. She looked well-behaved and sensible.

The second one was the birthday feast of Simeon Wong which was the second year of Tristan's marriage to her. The Wong family did not want to see her, nor did they introduce her to anyone. That night, Stacey was like a maid hired by the family. She did all the work, serving every guest while the whole family looked annoyed at her.

The whole night, Stacey stayed in the corner, facing the ridicule of people. She did not refute but silently lowered her head and moved away.

In Daniel's memory, Tristan's wife was an angry little daughter-in-law who let others pinch and was scolded by everyone. But tonight, this imposing woman, as if to chop someone to pieces, is not her.

Tristan also looked in the direction Stacey left and did not speak.

"I met Kendrick Perry at the door when I came just now," Daniel said to divert the topic from Stacey.

"Who?" Tristan said casually.

"The Editor-in-Chief of Fashion Jewelry," Daniel explains.

"Yeah, I remember him," Tristan said without emotion.

James and Moira who were also stunned by the sudden situation cooperated. "Yeah, you met him before."

"Just now Daniel told me he found 'Star', and if they don't meet any problem, she will become the contracted designer of their magazine. Do you remember?" Daniel uttered and signed.

"I don't remember," Tristan responded. Why should he remember these irrelevant people?

"You remember sponsoring the Seventh Emerging Designer Competition three years ago? She won first place in the competition. The Wong Corporation could have sponsored her to study in Paris, but for some reason, she declined the offer."

"I also remember she asked the foundation not to teach her abroad and change the prize to cash, but you refused. I haven't heard from her since. She is a very spirited designer, unfortunately."

Tristan slowly withdrew his gaze, not knowing what he was thinking, nor did he know whether he had listened to what he had just said. "Oh." and "Not impressed."

—————

On the way back, Kendrick could feel that Stacey schmmer was in a much worse mood than when she was eating. He was not good at asking directly, so he looked at Glenda and raised an eyebrow.

Belinda shook her head slightly, indicating it was challenging to say a word.

The car stopped in front of Belinda's house.

"I look forward to your work and also look forward to our cooperation," Kendrick said.

"Thank you, Editor Kendrick I will work hard," Stacey responded. Since she was calmer now, she smiled at him.

Kendrick smiled back. "Then I won't delay you. Go up and see you next week." He said before starting the engine.

As soon as the two enter the house...

"Stacey, are you still angry? I told you to remove in your head that crazy bitch and hooligan guy..."

Stacey was a little distracted. Subconsciously she responded with the word "Huh..." then she reacted for two seconds before saying: "No, I am thinking about the work."

The theme Lance gave her is "first love", and Belinda said that this is also the first series promoted by their magazine after signing a designer. They wanted to focus on the young market.

So, this work is critical to them. But the word first love for Stacey is too long ago. It is already very vague. The beautiful throbbing that can only be felt when getting along with the person you like has long been with Sean's three years of marriage, and nothing has been left.

"Speaking of first love... I just wanted to ask you, have you and dayne never been in contact?"

Stacey shook her head slightly. Three years ago, she won the first prize in the Emerging Designer Competition and could have been offered the opportunity to study in Paris, but she refused.

Dayne had called her several times and asked why she didn't go. There was doubt in his expression, loneliness, and there was disappointment. But Stacey never had the courage to tell him the truth and deleted all his contact information.

What can she say? Can she tell him that the night she won the grand prize, a group of men came to her and said her father owed them a large amount?

Belinda sighed and leaned back on the sofa. "I still regret what happened to you and him. The two of you are a great couple... both talented and amazing. I thought you would be together when you went to Paris. I never thought that something like that would happen... Fate makes a fool of him."

Stacey was silent for a long time before he said, "It's all in the past."

"Eh, you're right! Don't mention that sad thing!" Belinda exclaimed and changed the topic. "... I suddenly remembered a gossip about Kristine. She just entered the industry to shoot magazines. I am thinking about what she can do with her little brain..."

Belinda told several jokes to Stacey and after making her laugh, she passionately insulted Sean and Kristine for one night.

But when Stacey was lying on the bed, her mind still unconsciously echoed the words that Kristine said to her in the bathroom. Although Tristan will never speak those vulgar words, it does not deviate from the meaning conveyed in them.

Stacey knew from the start of her relationship with Tristan. In the three years of marriage, she tried her best to play the role of a good wife. Whether it was in the face of his wrong words and slander, or the sneering ridicule of the Wong family, she never complained. She also knew how much Tristan hated her.

But when those realities came at her ruthlessly, like a venomous blade, Stacey would still feel pain, and even with her breathing, she felt the pain of her heart twitching.

Stacey buried her head in the quilt, half dreaming and half awake, thinking of something.

Three years ago, after learning that Nestor Hidalgo owed a million loans, Tracy raised money everywhere and even pulled down her dignity to ask the person in charge of the competition if she could not go to Paris to study and give her cash. She still remembers what the person in charge said: "Miss Thompson I'm sorry, our boss said. We reserve an opportunity for people who have dreams, not those who see this competition as a business opportunity and want to profit from it."

After Stacey listened to this sentence, she froze for a long time, went back to crying, and scolded the so-called boss for one night. "Who doesn't have a simple and unpretentious dream?"

A few days later, Nestor Hidalgo ran away, and the creditor came to the door and asked her to make a choice. Either they chopped off her head, or she took the initiative and came with them. Stacey had no choice but to go with the group.

The men sold her to twilight, a place dedicated to the entertainment of the rich, drunkenness, and materialism. They drugged her wine. Although Stacey was ready to see death knocking on her door when the middle-aged man in his forties and fifties with a fat face came in, Stacey suddenly thought of Kyle, of her unfinished Paris pact.

Not knowing where the strength came from, Stacey pushed the middle-aged man away and stumbled out.

Stacey didn't know how long she had been running, but finally, she saw a tall and blurry figure in front of her. She fell to the ground, pulling on the cuffs of his textured suit: "Please, save me..."
