THE CEO

"Agh…"

One day, Diana Smith woke up in the middle of the night and was sore all over. No one would believe it; she and Knox Lewis slept. It was her first time, and she didn't feel anything, just pain. The only thing that stayed with her was the ambiguity of his beard that ran across her cheek. He kissed her ears and breathed on her neck. Flesh-to-flesh, his deep hypnotic voice drew her in. Her body became incredibly hot because of the contact. During that time, he had been whispering a name into her ear. Although she had no idea what the word meant from the beginning to the end of their interaction, it did not lessen the intensity of her throbbing pain as he inserted his crotch.

She looked at the stern face of the man beside him, inexplicably felt that the relationship with this man was much closer. She coveted the warmth of his embrace and even whimsically wanted to lie beside him and sleep in his arms. Nevertheless, she knew that she just asked for trouble if she didn't leave now.

Knox Lewis, the CEO of Lewis International Group in New York, slept with by intern Diana Smith. She thought about it and knew the consequences: lightly, she would lose her job and leave, and at worst, she would be accused of "seducing the president" and become infamous.

The first day of regimental construction was yesterday, so everyone decided to celebrate. And with surprise, Knox became drunk in the evening. He grabbed her hand, who assisted him into the room, and involuntarily kissed her. Her mind was blank at first, and she wanted to refuse, but when she saw his face, she became dazed and refused to move. Before that, she had not even had direct contact with him.

She staggered her legs, returned to her room, and pretended nothing had happened until six o'clock in the afternoon when several buses returned to the company and stopped at the hotel's entrance. Judy, another intern, joined her on the bus. As soon as they got into the vehicle, she noticed a man in the first row whose eyes were closed while his back rested.

It frightened her.

'What is Knox doing here?' She pondered. The whole car was full of people, but the seats behind him were empty. Her face flushed red. She and Judy were late, so they could only bite the bullet and sit behind him.

"Didn't Mr. Lewis always drive by himself? Why did he take the bus with us this time?" Judy whispered in her ears. She had loud voice; even if she was "quiet," others could hear it.

"I don't know." She replied with her head lowered. She covered her face with her hands when she got behind him. She wasn’t sure if she did it intentionally or unintentionally because she feared he would recognize her.

'I guess, I'm lucky again.' She sighed. ‘Perhaps he didn't remember what happened last night, or even if he did, he didn't realize it was me. After all, he had no previous contact with me, and he was drunk with the lights turned off most of that night.’

The long road was boring, so Judy started to play with her mobile phone. She was tense and wanted to take her phone, but she turned left and right and couldn't find it. She pushed her friend and whispered, "Dial my phone. I can't find it."

"Where did you put it?" Judy asked, bored as she dialed the phone number "Diana moron."

All this we've been together

Everyday a new adventure

Times, enough to last forever and a day

Our love was sometimes all we had

Through good times and through bad

I loved you all the way

The pleasant ringtone of the phone rang, but the ringtone was neither from her bag nor from her suitcase, but the front seat, or more precisely, from Knox's hand. The hairs on her body stood up instantly. Her colleagues were reticent because of his presence in the vehicle, and her phone ringtone sounded particularly dramatic.

As the phone didn’t stop, she tried to remember what happened that night. ‘I helped him in returning to his room and my phone was in my pants pocket. It was most likely dropped while I was undressing.’ She quickly regained her composure after being startled: ‘So it appears that he took the bus today because he was waiting for me, perhaps he knew that I was the one who slept with him, or maybe he didn't know…’

However, when the phone rang and about the whisper Judy said to her earlier, she guessed that he already knew. In this way, she was somewhat self-defeating.

Judy looked at her with puzzled eyes and turned her head towards Knox. The meaning was obvious: "What's going on?"

"Stop hitting." Diana held her hand down. She couldn't bear the rest of the embarrassment, and now she didn't know how to explain it.

"What the hell is going on? Why is your phone in Mr. Lewis' hands?" She asked her in a low voice again, but everyone could hear it as usual.

"I don't—"

Just when she was highly embarrassed, Knox in the front row suddenly turned around, almost frightening her. "Is this your cell phone number?" He asked Judy while holding her phone, which displayed "Crazy Judy."

"Crazy Judy" was the nickname she gave Judy.

Judy nodded like a pug, "Yes, Mr. Lewis. Diana's cell phone can't be found, so I called her to find it."

She wanted to facepalm because Judy also said the name "Diana." Now, she couldn’t even disappear if she wanted to hide.

"This is your phone? You were holding your suitcase, so why is it in the front seat?" His gaze shifted to her. His eyes were indifferent, deep, and dark. The regards were kind and familiar, but they were endless. She couldn't understand it because it was beautiful yet distinctive.

‘Why? Why are you looking at me with those unusual yet kind eyes, Knox?’
