Chapter 4
Andrew was waiting for Katy anxiously at that restaurant, he wanted to know what excuse she would have for not showing up for that meeting. A few minutes later he froze when he saw Fabiana...
Fabiana - Love... did you decide to come here to unwind?
She smiled, she knew that soon her rival would arrive and see them together, she was already pulling a chair and sitting down.
Andrew – Fa. Fabiana...what are you doing here?
Fabiana - I like this place, I always come when you leave me alone at home.
She wasn't going to ask anything...she already knew why he was there.
...
I arrived at that restaurant, I was going to tell him all about that mongrel who calls himself my aunt... to tell him that she destroyed my family without the slightest mercy. When I looked at that table at the end of the hall, my heart broke into a thousand pieces.
Katy - I'm really stupid!
Andrew saw me and got nervous, I ran out of that place in tears. I had rehearsed so many ways to apologize to him for having used him in that terrible plot and now Andrew showed me that the only fool in all of this was myself.
Katy - Taxi!
I got in that taxi and went home crying.
...
Fabiana - What was love? Looks like you saw a ghost.
Andrew - Let's go home.
Fabiana - I've barely arrived and I'm hungry.
Andrew - Well, eat alone.
He got up, tossed the wine money he'd had while waiting for Katy on the table, and headed for the car.
Fabiana followed, trying to run in high heels.
Fabiana - Stop being so stupid, please don't treat me like that anymore! Not now that we're having a baby.
Andrew - What did you say?
Fabiana - What did you hear, I'm 2 months pregnant.
She ran into his arms, Andrew didn't respond...but he didn't reprimand her either. Fabiana expected a cry of emotion or some kind of celebration from him.
Andrew - Get in the car and let's get out of here.
Arriving home she helped him take off his tie, she wasn't going to force the bar for them to be together. She went to take a shower and left him in the kitchen... thoughtful.
...
I didn't want to have to call Katy ever again, after that humiliation of waiting hours on that dark street, but this time Fabiana messed it up and she should have been thinking the worst of me, and with good reason. I had to explain myself to her...
I called eight times and she didn't answer me, so I resorted to WhatsApp messages.
Andrew - You must be thinking the worst of me, but please answer my calls...Fabiana showed up at that restaurant and I couldn't avoid this meeting...and now this pregnancy.
...
He was on her side the whole time, playing with me out of pure revenge....maybe the witch had told him her side of the story and he had taken her side.
Katy - Leave me alone, we've gone too far on this subject. Live your life and stop looking for me or this could all end very badly.
Andrew - Is that a threat?
Katy - Ask your little wife!
...
Following day...
I was at my job folding some clothes when a delivery boy came by and asked for me.
Katy - It's me.
Delivery man - This was sent to you.
I signed for receipt and it was a very nice box with the right bow, I couldn't pretend I didn't expect it to be a gift from Andrew as an apology.
Danielle - How beautiful, I bet it's from some admirer. Come open!
I didn't want her to know who it was from, if it was Andrew's, it wouldn't be okay for the story to be discovered right there in my work environment. I took the box and went inside the store, untied the bow and op, ended it...
Katy - Fabiana is sick.
It was the pieces of my hair with a note inside.
This is just the beginning, you've already seen that Andrew has returned to me...get out of our way, we'll give you a cousin in a few months.
Katy - Fabiana is pregnant with Andrew!
I threw all that crap in the trash and I couldn't concentrate on work, I had to ask to go home. When I got there, my mother finished making lunch.
Elaine - Already so early at home?
Katy - I didn't feel well and asked to leave early.
Elaine - What do you have?
Katy - It's not a big deal, don't worry...I'll be fine!
I went to my room and told Ludmilla everything.
Ludmilla - You have to tell your mother what is happening. All these threats, Fabiana is crazy and you can't shut up about it.
Katy - It won't do any good... and my mother doesn't deserve more suffering because of that snake.
Ludmilla - She has to know... Fabiana ordered you to be attacked, do you think she will stop there?
Katy - I think it's over now, Andrew and she were together and that's how it should be especially now that they're having a child.
Ludmilla - You're sad...you fell in love with him, didn't you?
Katy - Yes, but I'll get him out of my mind and all my problems will disappear.
Ludmilla - I wish you luck my friend... and I'm sorry for what happened.
Katy - Thank you for always listening to me and advising me.
Ludmilla - God will get you out of this predicament!
They hang up.
...
A few days passed and Andrew was trying to get away from Katy, he always dreamed of being a father, and at least now that Fabiana was pregnant he didn't want to cause trouble. She, on the other hand, wasn't satisfied with putting the two away...Andrew no longer looked for her as before in bed, he didn't eat properly because his illness wasn't physical, it was a disease of the heart.
Fabiana - They haven't seen each other for days, they haven't exchanged messages...I have access to his social networks and the little bitch didn't look for him and neither did he or her.
Maysa - So you got what you wanted...you have your husband back and she didn't beat you.
Fabiana - It's not like that, he still wants her... he thinks about her and I know he loves her.
Maysa - But he's with you and that's what matters.
Fabiana - She's with me because of the child... and not because she wants me.
Maysa - And what do you plan to do?
Fabiana - I have to take this girl out of circulation.
Maysa - Are you going to kill your niece?
Fabiana - It wouldn't be a bad idea, no... I just want to find a way to get her out of my way for a while until Andrew forgets about her.
...
Andrew wanted to hear Katy's voice, he often called from different numbers just to hear her say hello.
It was an ordinary day at work, Katy had left the store later because it was the end of the year and the movement was greater. She had her bag on her side and was walking thinking about Andrew, suddenly she felt a tug and almost took a fall when that thief grabbed her bag and ran away.
...
A man who had just gotten out of the car slammed the door and ran after the bandit. I was still in shock watching him run and I was supported by a woman who was passing... minutes later the man came back with my bag in his hands.
Felipe - Here it is, unfortunately, I couldn't hold the criminal until the police arrived... but at least I recovered his bag.
Katy - Thank you so much man, you took a risk...he could have been armed.
Felipe - All right... I'm not afraid and I just wanted to help you. Are you hurt?
Katy - Fortunately not.
Felipe - Can I take you home?
Katy - Sure, please.
I got in that car, he closed the door for me...he was a handsome, well-dressed man.
Felipe - You can't be walking around like that alone at this hour.
Katy - It's just that I left the store later and didn't have money for a taxi.
Felipe - But at least he wasn't hurt... what's his name?
Katy - Katy and you?
Felipe - My name is Felipe...I have a gym a few streets away.
The beautiful body was explained, Felipe dropped me off at home.
Felipe - Would I be very bold if I asked for your phone number?
Katy - If it's a single man, I don't see any problem.
Felipe - Yes... I am, and I was so excited about you that I didn't even ask you if you have a boyfriend.
I smiled.
Katy - I don't and it would be an honor to see you again.
That atmosphere between us was undeniable, we exchanged phones and started talking.
He asked me out on a date and I gave him that chance I gave myself a chance to forget about Andrew once and for all.
...
Elaine - Daughter, I want to talk to you for a moment.
Katy - You can say, mom.
Elaine - Your aunt invited me to her and Andrew's baby shower.
Katy - And what does that matter to me? Do you by any chance want me to send you a gift?
Elaine - Don't be so cruel daughter.
Katy - I admire the lady, after all, she did to me and made you... still going to celebrate this clowning.
Elaine - She is my sister.
Katy - If I only knew...
Elaine - If I knew what? Tell me once...did she do something to you that I don't know about?
I couldn't start this story again, it was better to let it go and life was taking its course.
Katy - Go in peace mom.
That day Felipe had invited me to a party, but I preferred to stay at home and he came to sleep with me that cold night.
Clinging to the bed...
Felipe - Would you like to have children?
Katy - I don't know if I would be a good mother...but yes I would like to. Is that you?
Felipe - I want to have three with you.
Katy - All this?
Felipe - Yes... and we are going to start doing it right now.
We kissed and made a lot of love.
...
Elaine went, everyone in the family was present...except of course her ex-husband who lived in another city. Everyone looked at Elaine as if looking for Katy, they learned what had happened and some thought it was absurd for her to be there.
Fabiana - It's great that Elaine came.
Elaine - I didn't know the sex of the baby so... I brought something neutral.
Fabiana - Come with me for a moment.
The two went to the living room.
Fabiana - I know we didn't talk to each other for a long time after all, but I want you to know that I don't hold any grudges... against you.
Elaine - Neither I Fabiana, neither from now nor from the past.
Fabiana - I'm glad we had the emotional intelligence to deal with things.
The two returned to the party, Andrew was looking at Elaine...he knew she was Katy's mother. He wanted to know about her, but he couldn't find a way to get into that subject.
...
I needed to know about her...I waited for us to get closer to talk about it.
Andrew - Elaine... so glad you came.
Elaine - I'm glad that Fabiana and you have overcome everything and are raising the family.
Andrew - Just tell me...is Katy ok?
Elaine bristled at the question, and that was pretty clear.
Elaine - My daughter has never been better...she met a good man and they've been together for a few months.
That sentence took me off the ground, I never thought that knowing this would hurt me like that...I had nothing more to say after that. I went into the living room and filled the glass with whiskey...one-two until the bottle was completely dry.
Fabiana - I can't believe that on such a special day I'm here burying my head in alcohol.
Andrew - Go to hell.
