3. Mr. Madison's Anger

A while ago,

Mr. Frank Madison looked restless in his yard. He kept pacing back and forth, waiting for Stefany to return from school, but she hadn't come home yet. It was already late afternoon, and the sun was almost setting on the western horizon. Mr. Frank felt anxious and worried about the whereabouts of his daughter, who had not yet returned.

Mrs. Emily, Mr. Frank's wife, tried to explain to her husband that Stefany was with Daniel. The teenage boy had asked Mrs. Emily for permission to take Stefany out until the evening. However, Mr. Frank was unaware of this and felt angry that no one had told him about the plan.

Mr. Frank, in an angry tone, said to his wife,

"Darling, why didn't you tell me earlier that Stefany was with Daniel? You know, I'm very worried and anxious about our daughter's whereabouts right now! How could you let her go like that without telling me?"

Mrs. Emily, in a calm tone, replied to her husband,

"I'm sorry, Darling. Daniel asked me for permission to take Stefany out until the evening. I thought you wouldn't mind."

Mr. Frank instead grumbled to his wife,

"Of course I mind, if I had known earlier that Daniel would take Stefany out until this evening! I'm her father, I need to know what's happening with my daughter at all times. How could you make a decision like this without telling me?"

Mrs. Emily tried to explain to her husband,

"I thought it wouldn't be a problem for you, Darling. Daniel just wanted to spend time with Stefany and I felt it was a good opportunity for them to get to know each other better. They've been friends since they were little. Daniel is also a very polite boy. He's always there for our daughter, Stefany."

Mr. Frank, in an annoyed tone, replied,

"But that's no reason not to tell me! I want to be involved in my daughter's life. I want to know what's happening in her life. You have to understand my feelings!"

Mrs. Emily tried to understand Mr. Frank's anger,

"I'm sorry, Darling. I'll communicate with you more next time. I just want Stefany to be happy and have good relationships with her friends."

Mr. Frank sighed. Trying to forgive his wife,

"Alright, Darling. I forgive you this time, but don't do things like this again without telling me. I want to be involved in my daughter's life. You must also remember that Stefany's future has been determined a long time ago. I don't like it if our daughter is very close to that boy named Daniel. Especially since he's a descendant of the Alexander family! You have to remember what his grandfather did back then when he ruined our wheat field! Which almost caused a crop failure! And it didn't just happen once!"

Mrs. Emily nodded,

"I understand, Darling. I'll remember it. I'm sorry."

In fact, what really happened was that Grandpa John Alexander was only framed by people who hated the Alexander family, who were one of the most respected families in the village of Bibury. Mrs. Emily knew everything and had explained it to her husband, Mr. Frank. But her husband still didn't believe it and still blamed the Alexander Family.

Mr. Frank was still angry and disappointed that he hadn't been told about his daughter's whereabouts. He felt that as a father, he should be involved in Stefany's life and know what was happening in her life. Although Mrs. Emily tried to explain and apologize, Mr. Frank still felt that better communication should be done in the future so that there would be no more incidents like this.

From a distance, Mr. Frank could see Daniel and his daughter Stefany riding their bikes towards the Madison residence, Stefany's house. Mr. Frank was seen staring sharply at Daniel for taking Stefany out until the evening.

The two bikes finally stopped in the yard, and Daniel greeted Stefany's father, who was staring at him very sharply, gently.

"Good evening, Uncle Frank. I'm here to take Stefany home," Daniel said, not at all intimidated by the piercing gaze from his best friend's father.

"Evening!" he replied coldly.

"Stefany, get inside quickly! It's almost night, but you've only just returned from school!" the father said angrily.

"But, Daddy. Daniel and I already said goodbye to Mommy," Stefany exclaimed, defending herself.

"Stefany! Get inside, Daddy said! Don't be stubborn!" the father snapped.

Mr. Frank immediately told Stefany to go inside the house, leaving Mr. Frank and Daniel alone in the yard.

Stefany looked at her father with a hurt look. While shedding tears, Stefany immediately walked into her house, without even glancing at Daniel, who glanced at her with a sad feeling.

Mr. Frank, in an angry tone. Started speaking,

"Daniel, what were you thinking? Why did you take Stefany out until the evening without telling me? You don't know how worried and anxious I was! How could you do this so boldly?"

"I'm sorry, Uncle Frank. I didn't mean to make you worry. I just wanted to spend time with Stefany and didn't mean to hurt your feelings. This morning I also said goodbye to Aunt Emily that I would take Stefany out," Daniel said, explaining everything.

Mr. Frank, in a tone of dislike, replied,

"Stefany has two parents! You don't have the right to make decisions like that without telling me! I'm Stefany's father, and I need to know what's happening in her life. If you take Stefany out, you have to get permission from both of her parents! Not just from her mother!"

Daniel seemed to understand Mr. Frank's anger,

"I'm sorry, Uncle Frank. I didn't mean to break any rules or make you angry. I just wanted to spend time with Stefany."

“You guys already spent time at school until noon. I think that's enough! Why add more time until the evening to be with Stefany?” Mr. Frank pressed.

"I'm sorry, Uncle." Those were the only words that could come out of Daniel's lips.

Daniel was instead staring at Stefany's room on the second floor of the house. He imagined that Stefany must be crying right now.

“As her father, I have to be involved in Stefany's life. Communication is key, Daniel. You have to talk to me before making decisions like this! Taking Stefany out until the evening! That's a very bold act with your age being so young! What if something happened to my daughter during that time, would you be willing to take responsibility?" Mr. Frank was still angry.

Daniel nodded,

"You're right, Uncle Frank. I'll ask you for permission next time if I want to take Stefany out. I apologize for the inconvenience I have caused."

Mr. Frank started to calm down a little,

"Alright, I hope you understand about the importance of communication in making certain decisions. Stefany is my only daughter, and I care very much about her whereabouts. Don't do things like this again without telling me!"

Daniel nodded again

"I understand, Uncle Frank. I will learn from this mistake and communicate with Uncle next time. Thank you for your understanding."

Mr. Frank was still angry and disappointed with Daniel's actions of taking Stefany out without telling him. The man emphasized the importance of communication and reminded Daniel not to repeat the mistake. Although Daniel apologized and promised to communicate better in the future, Mr. Frank still maintained his firm attitude so that similar incidents would not happen again.

"Daniel! Don't expect to be able to take Stefany away again in the future! I won't allow it!" Mr. Frank Madison exclaimed from within his heart.
