Chapter 1

For Jace Norman every day is the same; a person whose life revolves around his studies as a Social Worker wanting to help those in need, especially kids like himself.

Throughout his childhood, Jace was given to the orphanage and did not remember much about his parents.

When Jace turn three the sisters at the orphanage, realise that Jace was different from the other children.

He would do things slower and would generally have no energy, being the legal guardians the orphanage sisters had to refer him to a nearby hospital to get checked up, the doctors didn't have a diagnose to name his condition, he was just merely weaker than most kids,

The other kids, however, would always include him in their games and activities, but Jace would always decline. With his pale skin, small frame and weak body Jace would still get left out during the orphanage charity event.

Growing up Jace never let his condition bothered him, he still went to school, worked part-time at a cafe nearby where he lived, which is a one-studio apartment, his life is very much quiet and peaceful.

Back when Jace was still at the orphanage, he would ask the sisters there if anyone ever knew his parents?. Ask as he may, but the answer was always still the same.

That his parents had passed away leaving him in their care

When he became of age, he moved out of the systems and what he had called home for the last eighteen years of his life and learned to live and become independent on his own.

The rented apartment where he lived is in walking distance from where he goes to study and work - at a cafe closed by as a part-timer. The landlord is coincidentally the brother of one of the sister’s back at the orphanage; it was why he could afford the apartment at a low price, and not only that they knew of Jace circumstances.

Occasionally, the landlord would bring home-cooked meals for Jace and tends to look out for him as well. It could be considered that the landlord is seen more like a father-figure for Jace that Jace himself has never entirely received when he was just a kid.

For a person who has no living relatives, he is touched and is thankful that the owner is the only other person that Jace has in his life apart from the little old lady who lives across the hallway from him.

How can life be so cruel to a person who has an innocent soul, a person who's fragile and gentle, and who is beautiful? The dice of fate is unpredictable; no one knows where or what it'll land on next.

On days when Jace has his times of from work and studies, he would gladly volunteer at the orphanage where he grew up. Giving back does not compare to how hard and well the sister’s had treated him throughout his time he had lived there. He would do charity work such as selling refreshments or setting up a Hot Dog stand with the help of the little children along with the smile and joy he brings every time he comes.
