Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Casey's POV

The silence in the room right now felt heavier than any words Sebastian could say. I didn’t look at him as I buttoned the front of my blouse, my hands trembling against the fabric.

The heat between us had faded, and now all that remained was a rising tide of shame curling inside my chest like smoke.

But Sebastian… he hadn’t moved far.

He stood close—too close—arms folded, that same calm but deadly aura radiating off of him. He didn’t need to shout to make my stomach twist with unease.

“I trust you haven’t forgotten our little arrangement, huh, pancake?” He asked, his face held in a grin.

I froze, his words slowly but surely registering in my mind. Though I knew what he was talking about, I just had to pretend to not understand him.

“What agreement?” I asked, pretending ignorance.

“Come on, you know our agreement, so stop pretending like you don't know what I'm talking about,” he said, but I continue pretending.

“What if I don't recall any agreement?” I asked him; he narrowed his eyes at me.

“You are trying to fake ignorance, but not to worry, I will remind you,” he said and paused to catch his breath before he proceeded.

“The agreement is for you to be my pet for just one year. You will be mine… fully. I'll do whatever I please with you… And your secret stays safe with me forever,” he stated.

I froze. My heart skipped, then slammed back into rhythm painfully.

I turned slowly to face him, my brows furrowing. “Sebastian… please, I can’t do that. I’m engaged. If anyone finds out, it’ll ruin everything…he’ll leave me.” I said, my voice low and calm.

“We won’t get caught,” he said, completely unfazed.

“I’ll make sure of that. You’ll live your perfect little life in public… and be mine when I call for you,” he said, which is why I took a deep breath.

His words made my skin crawl. I took a step back, gripping the edge of the sofa behind me for balance. If there is one thing I know, it is that this deal of his was a bad idea.

I mean, how was I going to continue having an affair with him without anyone finding out about it?

I will be married to Kelvin soon, and we will be leaving together soon, so how can I possibly sneak out to be with him? I thought within me.

“No,” I whispered. “I can’t do that. I won’t do that, Sebastian. That won't be fair to Kelvin; he's your nephew too, remember?” I said, hoping within me that he would have a rethink about this agreement.

“I know he is, and I care about him. You see… that's more reason I can't keep this thing we did a secret, unless I am well compensated.” His words remained low and well dressed.

Now he was blackmailing me. But do I have a choice? But I can't do this to Kelvin. He doesn't deserve it. I mean, he had been doing so much for my family since my father's company went bankrupt.

“Sebastian, no, please. Let's just agree still after the wedding. Once I marry Kelvin, then it ends. That's fair, right?”

I suggested, my tone now getting frantic and desperate.

He didn't answer; he just raised a brow, then slowly walked away from me until he was back at his seat at the working desk.

He leaned in slightly on his desk and took his glance to me where I was still seated on the sofa.

“If you don't agree to my terms, then I’ll have to expose you.” He threatened, and immediately I felt my stomach drop.

“What?” I croaked, my eyes still fixed on him, as I got on my feet now and slowly started walking close to him on his seat.

I looked up to meet his eyes. They were dark and cold.He wasn't flinching, not even a little.

“I have proof of everything that happened in this room, Casey. I have the video; now I can keep it very safe and tucked away if you agree to my terms.” He paused to catch his breath before he continued.

“If you don't, then with one click, it goes to your fiancé, your friends maybe, or your family. I wonder how long you’ll be able to play the perfect bride after that.” He threatened, raising his phone in the air.

Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision. My pride cracked, then shattered completely. I sank to my knees before him.

“Why on Earth will you have our time together filmed? Is it really supposed to be that way?” I asked him; somehow I just couldn't help but want to know why he would do something like that.

“I know you never saw that coming, but I want to blackmail you with real evidence and not just words.” He stated, making me frown at his attitude.

“I actually thought that earlier we were just busy having fun and enjoying every bit of each other, unaware that you were only doing it to get evidence against me. You are so mean,” I snapped at him.

More tears flowed down my cheeks after saying that.He only chuckled, unmoved, by what he just did. Indeed, he was really mean, and I don't know why I wasn't smart enough to notice what he was doing.

Now I have put myself in more danger. Now there was no way I could possibly escape him. He has gotten me just where he wanted me to be, and this is really so painful.

I really wish there was something I could do now to redeem myself from this mess I had gotten myself into.

“So Pancake, do you want me to expose you, or are you going to dance to my tone?” He asked me, a smirk curved in his lips.

“Please, this isn't right, and you know it,” I begged, gripping the hem of his shirt like it was the only thing anchoring me.

I have already gone down on my knees as well, hoping he would feel touched by it and have a change of mind.

“Sebastian, I’m begging you… Just let me go. Don’t do this. I made a mistake, but I can’t throw my whole life away because of it, please! Show me some mercy.” I pleaded with tears in my eyes, hoping within me that something would change.

His face remained impassive, cold.

“I'll be kind enough with you, Casey. You have three days to think about this carefully and accept my conditions. Or I ruin you and make sure that wedding never happens.”

My vision blurred as hot tears spilled down my cheeks, dripping onto the floor between us. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. All I could feel was the crushing weight of the trap he had me in.

I bowed my head lower, voice shaking. “Sebastian, please… I’m not strong enough for this.” I pleaded, my both hands placed together.

And then, I heard loud footsteps, followed by the sound of the door opening.

I wanted to get up quickly, but it was rather too late….

Kelvin was already standing at the entrance of the office, his glance fixed on me now. “What the hell is going on?” he retorted.

I jerked my head up.

Kelvin stood in the doorway, eyes wide with confusion, then narrowing with suspicion as they darted from me on my knees to Sebastian standing above me.

“Casey… Why are you on the floor? What have you done now?” he asked, voice tightening. “What’s going on? I demand an answer.” He spat.

I opened my mouth, but no words came out; I just looked at him, almost helplessly, with a chill running down my spine.
