Chapter 5

Eira's face twisted with disgust as she spoke, her voice filled with unease. "Even the mention of that lake makes me queasy. Didn't uncle Patrick mention about it to you?"

Amethysta replied calmly, attempting to soothe her friend's exaggerated reaction. "He did mention it only yesterday, but there's no reason to get worked up, right. The lake seems harmless and peaceful. I'm not afraid to go there. It's not like I will encounter any lunatics out there."

Eira scoffed, clearly uninterested in discussing the lake any further. "Alright, forget it. Now, spill the beans about this Icarus guy. How did he come there?"

Amethysta hesitated. "Well, it was odd though. He said he came there became his mother brought him there in his childhood. Moreover, That day he called me 'Angel,' and yesterday he called, 'Princess.' It's almost like he's two different people, even though he looks exactly the same as he did in the bar."

Eira chuckled, seeing through her friend's confusion. "Oh, you naive thing. It's pretty clear he's into you. That's why he keeps coming back. not to mention, he mentioned about his mother."

Amethysta shook her head, dismissing the idea. "You've got to be kidding. He probably just wanted to relive some childhood memories. Plus, I'm just a regular girl. Why would he be interested in me? I don't want to get tangled up in any complicated stuff."

Eira replied sarcastically, "Well, aren't you modest, girl."

Eira rolled her eyes, and Amethysta chuckled softly. Deep down, her heart couldn't help but ponder Eira's words. Could Icarus really have feelings for her after just two meetings? She pushed those thoughts away as they enjoyed a day outside, skipping class and relishing each other's company near the college.

Unbeknownst to them, their every move was being observed, not by one, but two individuals.

Icarus couldn't help but admire the beauty of the purple-eyed girl before him, reminding him of their mother. "She's as stunning as our mom, don't you think?" he remarked to his twin brother, Isaias.

Isaias nodded in agreement. "She'd make a great queen. Can we make it happen?"

Icarus's expression turned serious as he thought about their mother's whereabouts. "Before we make any decisions, we need to find out more about our mother. Once we have that information, we can decide if she's fit to be our queen."

As Icarus licked his lips, his attention fixed on the giggling Amethysta, who was enchanted by a cute puppy, Isaias couldn't contain his desire. "I can't wait to taste those plump lips of hers. They're so enticing."

"Control your pheromones, Isaias." Icarus warned Isaias who seemed lost control of his pheromones.

The twins secretly followed Amethysta, eventually leaving the scene. Amethysta turned back, sensing an eerie presence but finding nothing out of the ordinary.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" Eira asked, following Amethysta's gaze.

Amethysta shook her head. "Oh, it's nothing... I just had a weird feeling like someone was watching us. Probably just my mind playing tricks on me. I've been easily distracted lately."

Eira playfully retorted, "When are you not distracted? Come on, let's go."

Eira pulled her friend along, while Amethysta kept glancing back intermittently, unable to shake the unsettling feeling.

Near an abandoned factory, a sleek Lamborghini was parked. Inside, the two brothers, Icarus and Isaias, discovered a man who had been badly beaten and was barely conscious, along with their uncle Jonathan.

Icarus took a seat. "How's it going, Uncle? I trust you appreciate our gracious welcome." Icarus greeted their uncle with sarcasm.

Jonathan, groggily looking at Icarus and Isaias, who radiated an air of authority. "Icarus, Isaias... why... why have you abducted me? What have I done to deserve this?" His words stuttered.

Isaias, seething with anger, clenched his teeth. "What haven't you done wrong, you despicable scoundrel?"

Icarus shook his head, attempting to maintain his composure. "Just answer one question, Uncle. For our father's sake, I might spare you. Where is our mother?"

Jonathan remained silent, unable to provide an answer.

Icarus continued, "You see, Uncle, despite everything, our father still holds some regard for you. Yet, what did you do? You harbored ill intentions toward our mother and betrayed us for your own gain. You are a true turncoat."

Jonathan's eyes widened in shock, unable to fathom how they knew about his treachery. When they were discovered by the pack, they were just children.

Desperately, Jonathan pleaded, "I... I didn't do anything. It was the pack leader's idea. Spare me, Isaias."

Icarus sighed, disappointed by his uncle's denial. "Tsk... Uncle, how can you not recognize us? For your ignorance, you deserve punishment, don't you agree, Isaias?"

Isaias, seemingly deep in thought, continued the charade. "Yes, brother. But what punishment befits him? My imagination is running wild."

Icarus suggested, "What about electric shocks?"

Isaias brushed off the idea, proposing something more sinister. "Nah... how about stimulants? A hefty dose of stimulants could be quite intriguing."

A wicked smile crept onto Isaias' face, sending shivers down Jonathan's spine as he lay on the ground, still recovering from the beatings.

Jonathan pleaded, fearing the impending agony. "No... please... don't do that... it will trigger my rut..."

Icarus nodded, approving suggestion, seeing it as a fitting punishment. "Excellent idea, brother. But do we have the required supplies?"

Isaias proudly revealed a vial of stimulants. "Who said we didn't? I've got it right here."

Without delay, Isaias injected the stimulants into Jonathan's veins. The pain swiftly seized him, causing Jonathan to writhe in agony on the floor.

"Please, give me an inhibitor... this is torture." Desperate to alleviate his suffering, Jonathan begged for an inhibitor.

Isaias taunted him. "How about the scent of an Omega? You always had a penchant for young Omega pups, didn't you?"

"We should leave, Isaias. We don't want to arouse our father's suspicion." Icarus intervened. They shouldn't let their father know what they were doing. not so soon.

Icarus patted Isaias on the shoulder, signaling their departure. Ignoring Jonathan's pleas, the brothers walked away, leaving the tormented man behind. As a parting gesture, Isaias tossed a glass tube containing Omega pheromones, saturating the area with their intoxicating scent.

Jonathan screamed in pain, while the barely conscious man in the room also experienced the effects of the omega pheromones, albeit in a less aware state. The combined torment of the pheromones and stimulants was excruciating for Jonathan.

Icarus hummed in agreement, their determination driving them forward. They paid no heed to Jonathan's painful screams as they reached their car and departed from the factory. The echoes of his suffering lingered, a chilling reminder of the brutal reality of the rut.

Unbeknownst to Amethysta, everything was intertwined from twenty years ago. Until the twins found their mother, they would not rest. But little did they realize that an innocent soul had become entangled in their dark and perilous journey.
