Chapter 5

... RUBY POV...

Utter bliss.. I slowly start to wake as the birds sing and the cool breeze blow over my body. Everything smells wonderful and pure. The memories of last night start to flood back. My eyes pop open as I remember my cousin stabbing me and then my mate and brothers ripping him to shreds.

I sit up fast, forgetting about the pain but then very shocked to realize that I felt nothing. I look down and lift my shirt slowly as if I'm afraid the guts will climb out but my skin is smooth and clear. I look up in shock, trying to comprehend what is happening. I'm sitting on a massive smooth stone altar in the middle of a clearing with pine trees surrounding me. The skies are beautiful and clear and the sun is shining bright, As I'm looking around enjoying the few peaceful moments and trying to piece together the pieces, i get frighted by a lady speaking behind me.

"Ruby, my child don't fret, you are safe and you shall be okay, I have special plans for you" the lady says

"Where am I? Who are you?" I ask the mysterious glowing lady.

"You are in the in-between my dear. Neither dead nor alive. You have been through a lot haven't you. As to who I am.. I go by many names.."

Everything clicked into place as I looked at her in awe.

"Your the Moon Goddess aren't you?"

"Indeed I am but please call me Selena" she says and looks utter amused by her games

"Not dead but not alive either? So am i going to die now or am I going back?"

"No my child, you are to survive. As you notice you and your wolf are extraordinary. You will have abilities that no other has ever possessed. Once you are healed and go through a change or changes, you will be gifted with the gift of sight. If you touch someone you will see their past, present and later on their futures. Seeing the future will come with time. You will also have the healing touch but won't be able to use it on yourself though so be careful, don't put yourself in harms way but be close enough to help and support your loved ones. You Wil be the fastest and strongest wolf alive and your abilities will amplify your king mate's abilities."

"Wow... I'm honestly not sure what to say apart from why me?"

"Don't fret my dear I see all and I know that no one will ever be more perfect than you. You Wil be good to your mate and children as they wil be good to you. I need to go. We shall meet again my precious one. Be safe and blessed be.."

Then she was gone and I was falling and falling into and endless void...

I wake with a start and try to sit up but the pain prevents me. Nick is there in a second helping me and giving me some water as my throat is as dry as the desert

" There you go my love. Do you require something for the pain?" he asks

"Yes please nick" I smile at him as I try to bear the pain and no show him how bad it truly is

He gives me a few pills and I swallow with some water... As I lay down he plumps my pillow and sits scooting he's chair closer. Holding and kissing the back of my hand. I slowly turn to my side and asks for he's assistance. He gladly helps me to turn and get comfy

I pull him close and wrap my arm around he's neck. Hmmm I absolutely love he's scent. Coffee with a hint of chocolate and nuts combined with the fresh scent of a pine forest... Delectable!

He kisses my neck and works he's way down to where the mate mark will go. I moan, as it feels so good. I kiss he's neck in return and hear him growl softly. I take advantage of it and nibble his ear and feel his sharp intake of breath. Then he pulls away slightly. Holding is forehead against mine

"Love if you don't stop now, I will ravish you, injured or not."

I blush and giggle before I pull him in for a last kiss on his delectable full lips.

"Just for now. I can't help it if your so damn delicious!" I said without thinking. I slap my hand over my mouth rather much too late as i stare at him big eyed

He laughs and I don't think I've ever heard something as beautiful or as embarrassing for that matter

" My naughty Ruby, we will have lots of delicious naughty moments ahead that I promise you"

I blush and say well i will definitely look forward to that

For the first time I look around and notice I'm in the biggest private hospital room I've ever seen. Massive bed. Beautiful roses on the night stand and beige decor and furniture.

"Where are we?" I ask

"We are home love, once your healed I'll show you around, but for now you get to see the Alpha wing in our pack hospital."

"I roll my eyes nut say Okay Nicky I would love that.."

"Nicky? Hmmm i like that. Only when you say it though"

I giggle and say oh but what if i tell your beta to call you Nicky

His eyes darken and he says you wouldn't dare

Oh yes i would and as he launches himself at me i hold my hands up and say i wont i wont you win.

I feel the exhaustion take over as I recover from the tummy hurting laughter. I close my eyes and drift away into a deep deep sleep not knowing if I will ever wake up but holding onto the moon Goddess promise that i will. I float around in a dark peaceful place.
