Chapter 2: Bumping into the king of hell

"It's too slow…too slow," Anna mumbled agitatedly as she shook her feet. Her palm was still wrapped around the unconscious kids fingers as the ambulance took them to the nearest hospital.

"Ma'am, how are you related to these kids?" The emergency attendant asked but Anna was too anxious to pay heed to him. She kept on murmuring and the moment the van stopped, without waiting for the personnels, Anna had already pushed the door open as she ran into the hospital bare footed, shouting for the nurses and doctors. She felt unconcerned about the fact that she was yelling in the hospital as her only priority were the kids whom she felt were familiar.

The hospital appeared to have gotten the news about the kids' situation because a few doctors and nurses began to run out of the hospital, towards the ambulance.

Anna was too disoriented to care about such a scene.

"Please save them," She cried out, her palms out in a pleading manner as she gazed at the doctors teary eyed.

"Please make way," The nurses said as they pushed the overbed tables into the hospital.

A nurse was smart enough to help Anna into the hospital because her legs had gone weak due to anxiety that was baffling.

She followed the doctors into the hospital and was only stopped when they were about to walk into the emergency room where the kids were to be treated.

"You need to stay here. We'll call when you're needed." These were the words Anna heard before the door was closed, enclosing the kids from her sight.

Anna paced before the emergency room, the longer the red light shone, the more her heart continued to pound faster. She was yet to fill out the form that was given to her by the hospital's receptionist.

Hours passed in the blink of an eye,her legs were tired but Anna refused to take a seat. For some reason she felt anxious. It was a total of right hours and none of the doctor's had left the emergency room, not any of the kids.

She knew the outcome of the collision was going to be disastrous but she didn't expect it to be as life threatening as this.

Suddenly, the emergency door was pushed open as a nurse drenched in sweat panted as she staggered out of the ward.

Immediately, Anna ran to the nurse and she was too preoccupied with dangerous thoughts not to notice that the nurse seemed abnormal.

"How are they? How is their condition? What happened?" Abba fired a series of questions at the nurse but despite this, the nurse said nothing as she continued to stare behind Anna with an anxious gaze etched on her face.

She became frustrated upon noticing this and was about to yell at the nurse when she heard a series of footsteps behind her. She immediately turned and her eyes widened as she stared at a nurse who was running towards her with two bags of blood.

"What! The doctor said four and you're here with only two!" The nurse behind Anna yelled frustratedly at the running nurse who also had a frustrated expression on her face.

"These were the only blood bags of the same type as the kids we could find within and outside. Their blood type is a rare one and this situation is inevitable," the nurse explained, paying slightly as she handed the blood bags to the nurse behind Anna. Anna's existence had been completely forgotten not until but nurses heard her sharp yell.

"What the hell is going on?" Anna questioned furiously. Judging from the conversation she heard between both nurses, she guessed that the kids were in dire need of blood.

"The kids lost a lot of blood before they were brought here and right now, to end up with a successful surgery, we need a substantial amount of blood. Their blood is a rare one and we couldn't find the needed amount. It's unclear if they'll be able to be saved," the nurse who had run out of the emergency room explained in one breath. Anna felt her world spin as soon as she heard the nurse's last words. She felt like she had gone back in time when the same situation occurred. Anxiously, she began shaking her head in denial as her lips trembled. She opened her mouth to speak but the words refused to leave her mouth. She sobbed desperately and just as the nurse was about to walk back into the emergency room, she was stopped by Anna.

"Please don't stop me. The kids would be in danger if I deliver these late," the nurse lightly hissed in anger, furious at how Anna had been stopping her.

Without paying heed to the nurse's reproach, Anna questioned;

"What's their blood type?"

"Rhnull," the nurse answered shortly, wanting to turn her back and leave but Anna's grip on her wrist suddenly tightened.

It was as if Anna had found hope once again as her eyes lit up.

"Take me in! Take as much blood as you need from me. I have the same blood type as they do," She explained excitedly. The nurse was about denying her request because In order to do this, they had to carry out some tests first. Just before she could explain this, a paper was suddenly stuffed into her hand and upon opening it, her eyes widened in joy. Without further ado, she pulled Anna into the emergency room.

Meanwhile, in the tallest building in the city, on the topmost floor, the air was cold.

This building was the Wayne's corporation, the country's largest and wealthiest company. The topmost floor was the CEO's office.

In the office, guards clad in black knelt on the floor as they pleaded for their lives. Their faces were covered in bruises and the man standing before them appeared no less than the king of hell.

"Get lost! All of you!" He yelled as he ran his fingers through his hair with his eyebrows furrowed.

Turning to the bespectacled man behind him, he glared at him menacingly.

"What the hell are you standing there for? Let's go to the hospital where my kids are!"

"Yes boss."

In the hospital;

Two hours later, the surgery ended, Anna's complexion was pale as she gazed at the unconscious kids. The surgery was finally over and she felt like she had regained her senses. Every action she potrayed came back rushing into her head like a movie, making her confused.

What is wrong with me? This was the question Anna asked herself as she walked out of the hospital, ignoring the nurses' questions.

Anna walked out of the hospital with her head bowed, unaware of the man walking towards her with his entourage of guards.

She suddenly bumped into his sturdy chest, almost falling on her butt and before she was able to apologize, she heard him curse loudly.

"Woman, are you blind?" He growled out.
