I can't speak

She felt like her head could explode. The excruciating pain caused her brows to furrow. She opened her eyes and it took her a while to adjust to the sudden light. She looked around and found that she was in an unfamiliar room. She didn't know much but she was definite about the fact that the room spoke of wealth.

A golden chandelier hung from the ceiling. The room's wall was painted in off-white, complimented with grey and black furnitures. The one thing that caught her eye was the painting that hung on the wall just beside the door,something about it intrigued her. She was astonished at the beauty of the room, she was awed. Even the bed felt so comfortable.

" Is this heaven? She thought

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door knob turn. Coincidentally, frangnants from that night replayed in her head. She thought it was those men that chased her that night that were at the door.

She jolted down from the bed and rushed under the be, careful not to make any sound

A maid entered into the room and found no one inside "Miss... miss,are you there?The maid asked anxiously. The maid opened the door to the bathroom and peeped inside, she didn't see any one there either

The lady watched the maid pace back and forth from under the bed. Why would they put her in such a comfortable room though?

She waved the thought off. It didn't matter.

"I just need to get out of there into a guaranteed safe place "She thought to herself

" That madam is missing. I need to go inform young master" The maid facepalmed herself, breathed deeply and went out of the room

Immediately, the lady saw the maid go outside, she left under the bed and prepared to sneak out of where she was.

Just as she left under the bed, the door clicked open.

She looked up to see a tall man, he was very tall, about 6'4. He was dressed in black turtle neck and black suit. His golden wristwatch was so shiny it could blind anyone. His face, she has never seen anyone so..... angelic. He was so beautiful she could stare at him all day and still not get enough.

Who's this man? She thought

And of course, the maid from earlier was standing next to him

Caught in the act, she thought. Feeling guilty, she looked around the room, purposely avoiding eye contact with the maid

Lucas turned to the maid

The maid lowered her head and said " My apologies sir, I thought she was missing, I didn't check well. I'll accept my punishment"

"Leave" the man said

The maid left hurriedly

"I'll take responsibility for what happened. Compensation will be given to you" Lucas said with a straight face

She turned to look at him when she heard this voice. Not only was he drop dead hot, his voice was also enticing. For a moment there, she got lost in that picturesque view. His left hand was inside his left pant pocket, his Adams apple was occasionally bubbling up and down

" A perfect pose for a magazine cover" she thought and swallowed hard

"Do you hear me?" Lucas asked when he got no reply from her

She snapped out of her perverted thoughts, but she still didn't say anything

"Oh! It was his car that hit me that night" She thought. Her tensed shoulders relaxed upon realization that he wasn't one of those bad guys. Of course, a man as beautiful as that possibly couldn't be bad.

The man was starting to get angry at her lack of response " Do you understand?

Okay, that was no way proper to apologize for a car hit. But she had to admit, she was grateful to the man in front of her. She was able to get away from those men chasing her, albeit it was done in a chaotic way.

She understood what the man was saying, but she still didn't reply.

The man snapped "If you don't want the compensation, fine! You can leave by the end of the day. A doctor has been taking care of you for the past three days you've been unconscious. I believe I've done my part. And not to worry, the driver that hit you has been fired"

"Three days??? I have been unconscious for a whole three days. That explains the weariness I'm feeling" She thought

There was still no response from the girl. All she did was look at him and blink

She could sense that the man was starting to get angry at her lack of response. Her eyes scanned the bedroom and they landed on the book and pen beside the bed.

She went to take it, wrote something on it and gave to the man

The man glanced at it for a few seconds before taking it.

It read "I can't speak."
