Chapter 4. The Woman Who Doesn’t Know the Rules

Glenn locked his gaze on the woman he had taken advantage of. There was not the slightest intention to ignore her, because there were many things he wanted to uncover. How did this woman sneak into his room? What was her purpose in seducing Glenn to the point of making him addicted that night? He judged that she was not a prostitute. Glenn was certain that he was the first to touch her. The bloodstain flowing in her crotch and staining the sheets was the strongest evidence. Or maybe this woman was sent by someone to tarnish his reputation? He had to get answers that very night. He would not allow anyone to ruin his clean and brilliant reputation.

However, his desire did not go smoothly when he tried to take the woman away. The woman opened her eyes just at the moment Glenn grabbed her skinny wrist.

“Who are you?” Her hoarse voice was faintly heard, while her beautiful eyes blinked in the midst of blurry vision.

“Come with me!” Glenn still roughly pulled her hand.

“Go away! Don’t bother me!” The woman resisted in Glenn’s embrace.

Glenn growled as the woman rejected him. At that moment, he forcibly dragged the woman to follow him. The woman seemed to struggle a little.

“Let me go!” The woman’s energy seemed drained. She could no longer resist. Her body went limp into Glenn’s arms as her consciousness gradually faded.

Glenn, still immersed in curiosity about the woman’s words, became wary of the bartender’s suspicious gaze. So, as soon as possible, he took the woman away from the nightclub. But don’t expect him to sympathize when he managed to bring the woman to the hotel room where he was staying. His logic had already dictated not to be influenced even when faced with a sweet, tempting body. Moreover, the woman’s unconsciousness could be taken advantage of.

He placed the woman on the sofa, letting her sleep uncomfortably all night. Then, when the sun was high, Glenn deliberately splashed water on the woman who still hadn’t woken up.

“Wake up! We need to talk!” Glenn had to shout to wake the woman, forcing her to open her eyes.

His method worked. The woman rubbed her wet face while sitting up. At that moment, a severe headache struck her. It was certain that the terrible pain was caused by the alcohol she drank the night before.

However, it was not only that which made her still ignore Glenn’s presence in front of her. Her wide-open eyes scanned every corner of the room without blinking for a second. She wanted to make sure her presence was not an illusion. Her effort was in vain. Her slightly swollen eyes had caught Glenn’s figure. He was the same man who had destroyed her beautiful plan a few days ago.

“You’re awake, right? So, it’s time we talk!” Glenn growled angrily, staring sharply at the woman.

Unfortunately, he was ignored by Rebecca. The woman was still immersed in shock that made her heart almost stop. Because she remembered coming to the nightclub to entertain herself from suffocating sadness. Her whole body trembled as her head was filled with the hot romance from a few nights ago. She hugged herself, afraid that the man in front of her would attack again while she was unconscious.

“You must have been naked when I slept with you.” Glenn sneered cruelly, offended by Rebecca’s gesture of hugging herself in panic. “I’m not a pervert who sleeps with drunk women.”

“Bullshit! The proof is that night you slept with me.” Rebecca grumbled angrily while turning her gaze away.

Glenn was offended again. He had been hit by a spark of anger that raised his emotions. Strangely, there was a whisper that taught him. It felt more enjoyable to humiliate Rebecca than to argue. His perception was strongly supported by the woman’s attitude who dared to contradict him.

“You were the one who seduced me first.” Glenn chuckled mockingly, sounding very annoying to Rebecca.

“That’s because I—”

“Because someone told you to seduce me?” Glenn interrupted, not giving Rebecca a chance to speak. “Tell me, who told you? What did they give you so that you would do such a disgusting act?”

Rebecca, confused, was not given a moment to breathe by Glenn. The handsome man closed the distance to her still sitting position. He bent down, while one hand pinched both sides of Rebecca’s jaw with a slightly painful pressure.

“I’ll be kind if you cooperate. I’ll give you twice what they gave you. But if you don’t cooperate... I’ll report you to the police on charges of prostitution. Choose wisely. Do you want to sleep in jail or accept my money?” Glenn growled in a serious tone. A threat that was no joke.

Rebecca’s expression changed upon hearing what the man said. Her eyes widened. Anger and emotion enveloped her as she received the cruel, heartless accusation. The man in front of her immediately accused her without asking for any explanation. “Get your hand off me right now!” Her hoarse voice growled angrily, while her eyes stared sharply at Glenn.

“I’m telling you to decide, not to oppose me.” Glenn would not lose, and his hand tightened pinching the woman’s jaw. His threat was serious.

Rebecca’s patience was truly tested by Glenn. Her life was already complicated, plus the headache that hurt her head, making her have to be firm against the man’s actions.

Bugh!

With all her strength, Rebecca banged her head against Glenn’s face. She managed to free the man’s hand that hurt her jaw. She also incapacitated Glenn who groaned in pain from her action. Standing tall, she did not waste the chance to push the man. Fortunately, Glenn managed to balance his body that almost fell.

“You crazy man! Who do you think you are? Your rude mouth dares to accuse me like that!” Rebecca shouted, panting. Her chest rose and fell, releasing emotions that were no longer bearable.

Yes, she seemed to be hit by continuous misfortune in her life. Starting from being abandoned by her family, then left by her fiancé, and now she met someone who was insane.

“You want to report me to the police?” Rebecca chuckled angrily. Then, without warning, she stared at Glenn with full hatred radiating. “I’m the one who will report you to the police! You brought me here without permission, that’s kidnapping! You hurt my face, that’s assault!” She paused, pointing at the man’s face with her index finger. “And one thing you must know! I’m not a random woman who would do disgusting things like that night. What I did that night was a mistake that made me unlucky to be involved with you!”

Rebecca really answered Glenn’s question perfectly with a sentence full of hatred and humiliation. The woman looked more cynical at Glenn, so much so that she did not sympathize when fresh blood flowed from the man’s nose in front of her.

Glenn clicked his tongue in annoyance. He was equally cynical, staring at Rebecca. In his whole life, this was the first time someone dared to oppose him to the point of hitting him. His sharp eyes seemed to want to retaliate against Rebecca’s action. So at that moment, he wanted to voice the same hatred at the unruly woman. Unfortunately, his desire was blocked by a ringing bell.

It must be Eric doing his daily routine in the morning, reporting the daily schedule that Glenn would go through.

“You better use your money to treat your nose. Because I have a lot of money,” Rebecca said, forced to brag.

She immediately left after venting her anger. Her steps stomped arrogantly, then she opened the door roughly. She also did not care about Eric’s presence who was stunned to see her leave Glenn’s room. Leaving as soon as possible was the most important thing she had to do at that moment.

“Mr. Glenn, what happened?” Eric approached Glenn who was already sitting on the sofa, his face injured.

Glenn was silent. He was still busy wiping the blood from his nose with a tissue he took himself.

“Are you okay, Sir?” Eric asked. He tensed up worriedly when he saw the bloodstain on the tissue.

“I’m fine. It’s just a small wound.” Glenn responded calmly. The wound given by Rebecca was very small. It was impossible to bring him down.

Eric seemed unsatisfied with Glenn’s answer. His mind demanded to find the answer himself. The presence of the strange woman who passed by earlier brought bad thoughts that immediately spun in his head. “Is that woman the one who made you like this?” He was confident in his guess. “If so, I will catch that woman—”

“Let it be! Don’t bother with that crazy woman,” Glenn ordered firmly.

Eric could not say anything when he got the firm answer. All he did was bow his head, obeying Glenn’s command.
